Woodman Cottage

This is a lovely little cottage with easy access to the town and the railway station.

We parked in the Coach Street carpark and bought a ticket for the week which was under £20. The cottage facilities were good - it was nice to have a bath and a good shower.

Cottage was perfect for what we wanted close to the town .

everything we needed was there .a lovely comfortable cottage.

Exactly as advertised a lovely ,clean,well maintained, well equipped cottage.

Great location just a short walk from town centre.Would definitely return if visiting nearby again.

We loved the accommodation.

Bed was so comfy. Everything meticulously clean. Didn’t cook anything but there seemed to be everything youd need to make a meal. Definitely would stay again!

Lovely cottage with many little personal touches give it a great homely comfortable feel and make for a nice relaxing break.

Ideally located for a short walk into Skipton, and a great base for touring the Dales by car or using public transport.

The accomerdation was clean.didnt have a problem with parking just round the corner. Good position near to the town center.

Lighting was really bad, almost impossible to read in the lounge.

DVD player was completely dead, maybe not properly connected, so could not play any of the DVDs supplied. I emailed about this on day 1 but received no reply. Bad draught through gaps round front door straight on to sofa meant it was hard to keep the lounge warm, a curtain over the door would make such a difference. The cottage is very pretty and well equipped but these other issues are more important than looks!

Very well equipped, spotlessly clean & cosy. Loved everything about it. A real gem of a place! Ideally located, just a short walk to the centre of Skipton. Easy parking in the nearby street. Would love to return one day

From the moment we opened the door until the time we locked up our stay was wonderful.

Beautifully decorated and equipped cottage with more than you could ask for. The Christmas decorations and all the little nik naks everywhere just made it even nicer. Plenty to do in the area especially if you like a pub. Only one thing could improve sleep would be secondary glazing in the bedroom. Other than that..... Fabulous!!!

It’s great to know there is somewhere to stay with guaranteed comfort and enjoyment. The cottage is in a brilliant, central location for Skipton. The owners are very kind, communicative and easy to talk to. They left very generous welcome items to enjoy throughout the stay. The shower and bed are fantastic. Comfortable and powerful. Fully fitted kitchen to enjoy short or longer stays. The heating is very easy to use and heats up quickly in winter, which is very helpful. I loved coming back again and wouldn’t hesitate to return again in future.

It has everything you need to make a stay perfect. It is a great area to stay in, lots to see and do. Lovely places to eat in Skipton. Although you couldn’t park outside the cottage we found it easy to park in the next street up.

We loved Woodman Cottage.

The moment we walked through the front door, all the stresses of everyday life fell from our shoulders. The wine, crisps and the message on the kitchen blackboard greeting us made us feel so welcome. Everything we needed was provided, from extra throws to a fabulous list of local places to eat. It really was a joy to stay in this beautiful, comfortable cottage. The parking outside the cottage was definitely just for loading /unloading a car, so we parked on the Coach Street car park which was 5 minutes walk away. We bought a weekly ticket for £19.40 which took away the stress of trying to find somewhere to park. .

The cottage was in a great position and only a five minute walk to the centre of Skipton. Parking was readily available in the street close by. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

I had a brilliant time at Woodman cottage.

The owners were very kind to me before and during my stay and the communication was very easy to make me feel at ease. The cottage is in a great location central to Skipton centre. Skipton itself is a fascinating place with many food and drink options and wonderful walks and views but the nearby transport links to train or bus allow you the option to travel further afield if you wish to. The cottage is extremely homely and cosy. Immaculately clean. Instant and easy heating system. Powerful shower and comfortable bed. The smart tv allowed me to relax and watch different shows whilst spending time in the cottage. I had the most wonderful time and look forward to returning already for another stay. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.

The owner appears to have thought of everything you might need.

Skipton with its variety of restaurants, pubs and shops is a great base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and Woodman Cottage was the perfect place to stay.

Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and parking was easy just around the corner. There isn’t much in the way of outside space but the bench at the front caught the afternoon sun so was great for a G & T at the end of the day before going out to eat. The cottage spotlessly clean and there are some lovely welcoming touches. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful little cottage, clean and comfortable.

Everything we needed for our stay in a brilliant location.

A very well equipped cosy little cottage only a few minutes walk to the centre of Skipton.

Great to see things like paper towels, tea towels and washing machine capsules. Heaps of books to read, a comfy sofa to relax and watch movies and a lovely bath to soak in. Only thing to be cautious of is if you are tall, be aware the entry to the kitchen is a little low. My husband banged his head pretty hard on the door frame a couple of times. Also, the bed is a little small for a tall person. Other than that, this is a great place to stay!

We were very pleased will all the extra little touches and amenities, you could tell a lot of thought had been put in to making the place homey. It was very cosy and felt like a home away from home. We loved sitting by the fire and the bed was very comfy. We were close enough to everything we needed. We would definitely come again and recommend to anyone.

This is a delightful, cosy and well maintained little house.

Perfect for a couple or solo visitor. Extremely well equipped, comfortable and friendly! The property is very convenient for the town centre where there are plenty of good cafés and restaurants. Also within walking distance of the train and bus station if travelling by public transport. Loved it!

Very well equipped and comfortable cottage offset from the main road within 5 minutes walk of town with many attractions, eating establishments and shops.

Free parking available just round the corner in the next side street (neighbours and shop use the limited outside parking). Newsagents for last minute essentials and a coffee shop next to the cottage on the main road which although busy at times did not disturb us. Appreciated little extras left by the owners such as oil, ketchup and spices which we were allowed to use. The most up to date and extensive information I have ever seen (on the cottage, attractions, eating places etc)... put together by the owners.

Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family illness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. There was everything that you needed to make your stay a pleasurable experience. Being an older couple we found the stairs awkward being the only drawback.

Perfect for two people. Well equipped. Comfortable. Good location with easy access to town. Although there is no allocated parking for cottage, parking very near by wasn’t an issue for us.

The cottage was very nice and comfy and it had everything you could think of to make your stay enjoyable,it was in a great location,would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay there again.

Woodman Cottage is a delightful cottage.

The owners have thought about everything and we really did not want for nothing. The cottage is cosy and inviting, very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Although there is no parking directly outside the property, we found ample parking on the main road and it was not a problem.

We had a lovely stay in Woodman Cottage, arriving to find a welcome tray of goodies and the woodburner all laid out ready for us.

The cottage is very tastefully decorated and its well equipped too. One thing that would make it even more comfortable for more folk would be to change the double bed for a king size, which surely most people prefer? Its really convenient for walking and visiting both the town and the wider dales. Parking was really non existent as its first come first served and the three cars outside the cottage never moved for our whole stay. But there is parking near by and we appreciated the drop off space. So all good!

Cottage was very well equipped and furnished to provide for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The cottage is just a short distance from the town centre and there are short cuts you can take to supermarkets, the bus station and the railway station. Whilst parking is almost impossible in front of the cottage you can park your car for free just round the corner (or avail yourself of a weekly parking ticket (£15) for the Council car parks). The stairs in the cottage are relatively steep and would not be suitable for someone with mobility issues.

We had a great time in this lovely comfortable cottage.

It was nice and clean and the furnishings were good quality and comfortable. It seemed spacious, although only one bedroom, it is very well thought out. No outside space, but that didn’t particularly bother us as we were out and about most of the time. I would recommend this cottage for couples. The only thing that would improve it for us would be a TV in the bedroom, but that’s just personal preference.

The cottage is just lovely and this was our second stay here.

It's well equipped and incredibly clean. The only issue is parking. The beauty people on the corner take up a lot of the space and others will park behind you and block you in without giving it a second thought. Nothing you can do about it but for us that was the only niggle. Will still be happy to stay again though.

Ideally situated for easy access the town centre and the Leeds / Liverpool canal.

This was our son Finn’s first holiday - he is 7 weeks old.

The cottage was a perfect size for the 3 of us (we brought Finn’s cot with us - which fitted in the bedroom with no problem). The cottage was beautiful, had all the facilities we would need and we really liked the added touches that you don’t get in other properties - cleaning products to use, herbs, spices and oils to cook with, local information and recommendations about where to go. We thought it was fantastic and couldn’t fault it at all. It was also rather cool in the hot days and nights we are having so great to come back to! The location is also brilliant - a 2 minute walk into the centre of Skipton but you don’t hear the noise you would expect by being that close. The bathroom is lovely - especially the shower which we wished we could take home. Thank you for a great holiday!

Lovely cottage.

Comfortable and well kitted out. Reasonably priced but that could be because of the traffic noise but the noise wouldn't deter me from coming again. Great for buses and trains as I don't drive although my husband does

Woodman Cottage is beautiful inside with everything you need, in an idea position for walking into town centre, parking is not a issues ample free parking on the street to the right of the cottage.

Only negative for us it is advertised as small front court yard not the court yard we expected it is actually a bench with a number of wheelie bins around you a few feet from a busy road.

Lovely little cottage in good location for walking into skipton.

It is extremely well equipped and the log burner was welcome on a cold night. The bathroom is huge and after a day walking the bath was very welcome. Parking wasn't an issue for us as we travelled by train. Would definitely rate this cottage, home from home. Thank you for a lovely stay and welcome.

Cottage was very clean and comfortable and everything there that you needed five minutes walk into the town center and plenty of walks nearby would definitely stay again

For the fact that you had to vacate the property by 9 and could not arrive till 4 due to the property having a "deep clean", I was disappointed.

There where alot of cobwebs, behind the table in the living room looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time, my socks were very dirty after just walking about for a few days. Also it states that parking is on a first come basis, but as the beauty salon which is right next to the parking for the cottage and they have a no parking sign and have no problem blocking you in if you park your car there I would not even bother to park outside the cottage. The location of the cottage is perfect and everything in Skipton is just 5 minutes walk.

Parking information misleading but we were aware of that from comments made by previous visitors.

Parking outside the cottage is useless as it is used by several houses and the beauty salon visitors so that even if you parked there you are likely to get boxed in. Having said that the recommended parking around the corner was fine (beware school closing times, very congested for 20 minutes). Cottage lovely, well equipped, excellent position for town, good file of useful information.

More like a home than a rental - so many nice decorative touches on top of what we expect as normal from a holiday cottage.

The local newsagent and particularly the coffee shop were excellent right on the doorstep

Staying at Woodman Cottage was an absolute delight and we had such an enjoyable holiday.

It’s a well loved and taken care of property and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. It’s exceptionally clean, cosy and beautifully furnished. Everything is to such a high standard. It’s a hidden little gem! It’s perfectly located to explore the Dales and locally. We would recommend to stay here and we will be returning for sure!

The location was absolutely perfect, as it was only only a 10 minute walk to Skipton High Street, and 5 minutes to the nearest local pubs / restaurants.

We ate out on several occasions and the food was very good each time, and very reasonably priced. The Cottage's owners were extremely helpful and friendly, as was everyone we met during our stay in Yorkshire.

Very comfortable and really love it. Skipton is a really great place to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely cottage to any one considering a holiday in Skipton.

It's handy for the main high street and only a stroll down to the canal and railway station. Parking in front of the cottage is a little restrictive, but there is ample parking one street away. The cottage has everything you require is clean and tidy with hardly any traffic noise We were so taken by the modern cuckoo clock in the kitchen, we actually purchased one on our return home.

The parking in front of the cottage was virtually non exsistent so we had to find somewhere else to park further away from the cottage and the noise we had to put up with from the renovation work in progress next door was very upsetting

The house had everything you could possibly need but was homely and comfortable on top.

The location is great and town and all amenities on your doorstep. Will definitely return.

Woodman Cottage is a beautiful well equipped cottage with lots of lovely touches and added extras which made for a very pleasant stay.

Parking outside the cottage was not always possible which involved parking in the nearby road or nearby car park, however we were aware that this would be be on a first come first served basis. There were only a few minor points regarding the cottage itself, such as no socket near the dressing table in the bedroom which meant having to dry my hair downstairs at the dining table, and also the shower basket provided for holding shampoo, etc was attached too high on the wall to be easily accessed. Plus points were the coat hooks for hanging coats on - something sadly lacking in most other cottages we have stayed in - which were a godsend considering we were staying during the tail end of storm Dennis! On the whole we found it very comfortable and very conveniently situated in the town and would definitely recommend to others.

We stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend and we could not fault the accommodation, it was exactly as advertised, if not better and everything you might need was supplied. The welcome pack from the owners was a lovely addition and gave us everything we needed for our first night in Skipton. There was also so much to do in the surrounding areas we ran out of time, so we will definitely be returning next year! Thank you for an amazing weekend away.

The only problem is with the parking!

We knew about it but, it was other people-not the holiday makers- who caused the problem! I am disabled and have to have my car available, as I have my scooter in the boot. I display various stickers to advise people of the fact, but there’s always one!! The cottage itself is very nice and comfortable. Well placed for the town center and other amenities. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Quiet location but only 5 mins from town and 2 mins to the canal. Very well equipped. We hope to return next year for another wonderful holiday in Skipton.

The cottage made all the difference.

It was like being at home - that was the impression we got when we first opened the door. Everything that we could have needed was provided and it all worked! There was even a Nespresso machine and for us that's a big plus. The cottage was quirky in the nicest possible way; there were so many personal touches that it felt almost as though we knew the owner(s) - pity we didn't quite meet them. It was so handy for the town centre - just a short walk, and the parking area next to the cottage worked well (in that we always managed to get parked there). If we need a cottage in Skipton again this is where we'll want to be. I can't praise this cottage highly enough - so much better than we could have imagined. Oh, and another thing - the bathroom (bath and shower) was a dream; then again, it all was.

Absolutely delighted with the cottage.

Very well equipped. Lovely hamper met us with bread, milk, fruit etc and written welcome on board. Owner had also been extremely accommodating by allowing us to alter our booking dates due to family circumstances. We really hope to stay again.

The lack of car parking wasnt a problem as there was on road parking just around the corner and we never used the car all weekend. The welcome basket was an added bonus.

Everything you needed home from home. Welcome tray well stocked with all the basics milk, bread, coffee, tea, fruit, butter,biscuits and even wine. Plenty of hot water and towels. We would highly recommend to our family and friends. One of the best we have ever stayed in!
