Our second time at kitchen cottage .

Beautiful location ,cottage has everything you need and clean and comfortable. The owner and housekeeping staff are very friendly and helpful.looking to book this cottage again in the future.

We’ve stayed in Kitchen Cottage several times, in different seasons over a few years and we’ve always been perfectly comfortable and happy, with all we need in the cottage for a wonderful holiday.

Despite the frequency of our visits, we’re still finding loads to do and plenty of places to explore. There always seems something left undone, so we just have to come back…again!

Very well equipped cottage.

Very comfortable and warm. Excellent location for our visit to Herriot museum in Thirsk and National Trust properties. Alpaca very interesting to see, lovely to stay on a farm.

A lovely, comfortable cottage with everything you could want.

The only comment I would have made had I seen the owner was the hot water tap in the bathroom needs attention as it needed a very firm hand to turn it off. Mindful of water shortage I didn't want it dripping. Having said that it would not stop us from booking The Kitchen again as it was ideal for our needs.

Love it here. The cottage is clean, tidy, roomy, comfortable with everything that is needed to make it a great holiday. Nothing is to much trouble for the owners who will happily chat and give advice of where to go and what to do. Go as guest’s, leave as friends. Cannot fault this place.

I’ve stayed at Water Hall Farm cottages a number of times but this is my first stay at Kitchen Cottage.

It was just perfect for me on my own. It is furnished and equipped to the highest standards with everything I could possibly need. I was so comfortable and happy there, with access to my favourite places on the North York Moors, the Dales and the Yorkshire coast. I can highly recommend this cottage.

An awesome cottage in one of the finest locations in England, kept incredibly clean and very well maintained, very quiet, very easy to get to many visitor attractions, close to Thirsk, some brilliant places to eat very close by.

I would without hesitation book at these cottages again, please don't hesitate just book

It was spotlessly clean and everything you needed was to hand. The welcome hamper of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits was welcome on arrival. Little touches that make the holiday after a long journey. We certainly would stay again. Many thanks.

We have just spent 7 days in this amazing accommodation which was exactly as described.

The cleanliness was without doubt the best we have seen and all the extras that have been supplied was superb. The location is ideal with so much to see and do. You also have the opportunity to go with the farmer to feed some of the animals. The surroundings were very peaceful and impeccably kept. Would definitely stay again when in the area and have already recommended to friends and family

The cottage was in immaculate condition on arrival, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits were provided for us.

The owner come to see us the evening we arrived to check that all was to our satisfaction and we are certain that we will be returning.

This was one of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. It felt like a lot of thought had gone into what should be included in the cottage, particularly in the kitchen. It was lovely to see the animals and be able to purchase free range eggs on site. The owners were very approachable. We enjoyed visiting the area and hope to return to the cottage in the future.

This cottage was perfect for us.

It was of an excellent standard throughout. It was spotless, comfortable and well equipped with ample hot water and extras we haven’t found in other holiday lets. We found a copy of the inventory, which was sent out a week prior to our stay, very useful so that we knew exactly what we needed (and didn’t need) to take. We enjoyed walks from the door and several walks within a 10 minute drive although we couldn’t resist the hour’s drive to the coast in such beautiful weather. Everyone on site, the owner, his family and the team of ladies who clean the cottages were friendly, pleasant and always helpful. We’re sure it would be a cosy cottage during cooler months of the year so we’ll be happy to return in Autumn or Winter. We loved it!

We had a fantastic week staying at Kitchen Cottage.

Ed the owner was very friendly as was his staff. The cottage was immaculate and very well set up. Good wifi and big digital television. Large and spacious accommodation. You were welcome on the farm and got to meet all the animals and take part in feeding. Fresh free range eggs are available to buy, could not fault the place and set up. We will certainly use again. Pretty central for many of the attractions in the area and footpaths.

This is a great holiday cottage.

Although a working farm it's very quiet and peaceful. Location is excellent for exploring the wolds and the moors. Have stayed before and have enjoyed it every time.

Kitchen Cottage is in a beautiful location and everything was beyond our expectations. The cottage was equipped with everything you could need and was spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and took us around the farm to see the animals. We loved the alpacas! We would definitely stay here again. A lovely peaceful holiday.

Excellent lodge with large comfortable bed.

Extras such as coffee, milk etc were supplied which were a delight. Jigsaw puzzles, books and tourist information literature were located in a sideboard cupboard. The cottage was spotlessly clean and met all our needs. We sat outside on a picnic bench in the shared area for some of our meals & breakfasts.

We really enjoyed our time at Kitchen Cottage.

The property was very clean and suited us down to the ground with its open plan kitchen and lounge. It was nice to be able to sit outside at the picnic table and even though there were other families staying in the few properties around the small courtyard, it felt like there was plenty of space for everyone. I can certainly recommend the cottage.

Excellent accommodation in an area that has numerous scenic walks and attractions.

The accommodation was extremely comfortable and warm, with everything that you need while away, credit to the owners.

This is definitely the cleanest cottage we have stayed in (we have stayed in lots over our 51 years married) and everything about it was first class.

The family were always very friendly and helpful, even the little children had their own involvement and jobs around the farm. An excellent location to visit so many places. A very happy place to use as a base for this part of North Yorkshire.

This cottage was excellent.

There was tea,coffee,biscuits and milk on arrival. Very welcome after a 6 hour journey . Our stay was perfect from start to finish. A week wasn’t long enough. The oweners were friendly and very helpful the other cottage users around us were friendly . Like a little community. The animals on the farm were so lovely to go for a walk around especially the Alpacas . The chickens were comical as they just came to see everybody. The surrounding area villages and towns were beautiful and the views on the moors stunning . Lots to see and do the steam train from Pickering to Whitby was a lovely day out . And the waterfalls at Ingleton were beautiful a bit of a trek but certainly worth it . I would definitely visit again in the future. A perfect weeks holiday .

The cottage was very clean and comfortable .

Unfortunately, the bed is too hard. In the listing it says that there are alpacas, pigs, goats, chickens, dogs and a cat. My wife loves animals and she was looking forward to see these little beauties. But no pigs, no goats, no cat, only a lovely dog called Bella, so friendly. We were able to see the alpacas because someone from another of the cottages told us where there were. But it was very difficult that no one welcomed us and instructed us where everything was, whom the owner was, where he lived, etc. Everything was just guess work. To complete, the mobile network does not operate in the house, no signal, neither around the farm, so if you want to call someone it's impossible!!! But there is internet access. Otherwise it was a nice week in Yorkshire.

Peaceful and relaxing, would go again in a heartbeat.

Well, where to begin.

.. Kitchen Cottage was perfect. The first thing that hit us as soon as we walked through the door was just how spotlessly clean it was and in these strange times this was immediately reassuring. The cottage is very thoughtfully laid out and has everything you need for a very comfortable break - a real home from home and a perfect base for exploring the area. And, as for the welcome... we were made to feel so welcome and would absolutely recommend the tour around the farm. Thank you to all at Water Hall Farm Cottages for making our stay so enjoyable. I hope the commitment and energy you all so obviously put into the cottages is rewarded. We will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Lovely cottage lovely places to visit very relaxing and quiet

This was a very clean, cosy and warm cottage.

Very well equipped in the kitchen, also the welcome items of tea, coffee etc. There is no dishwasher, so pots etc have to be washed by hand but this was not a problem. The weather was kind to us, only one day of rain. We would return if we want to go that area again. We had an enjoyable week in the cottage over Christmas.

I booked Kitchen Cottage for my husbands 30th birthday as a get away and our first family holiday with our little boy.

We loved it! Everyone was so friendly. The cottage itself was amazing, extremely clean and very well stocked. The little extras like the pack of biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch. It was lovely to walk around and see the animals. Lotcheny Cottage was in an ideal location for us and allowed us to visit lots of places without to much travel. Would highly recommend.

This cottage is spotlessly clean.

Little touches like biscuits, milk, tea and coffee are a great thought. Also to have foil, cling is helpful. These cottages are a conversion and done extremely well. The position of them is great for exploring North Yorkshire and local walks are excellent. The village is perfect. We are looking forward to returning later in the year.

Incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean

Really enjoyed staying at this cottage , excellent location , clean , comfortable , well stocked equipment in kitchen but it was the little touches like hand cream in kitchen and tissues in bedroom along with a good laundry room all provided to make this a outstanding place to stay.

We would definitely recommend anyone to stay for a break .We will definitely be booking again and have already told family and friends about our marvellous find.

Owners lived on site (working farm) but other than a brief, friendly introduction they left us to do what we wanted to do secure in the knowledge that they were there to help if needed.
