  • "This cottage is beautiful."

It is very comfortable and is furnished to the same standard you would your own home. The water pressure in the shower is excellent, and the kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook. It is lovely and tidy, and has everything you could want. However the stand-out for this cottage is the view, I could sit and watch the sea, the boats and the stars for hours from the front window, or take a cuppa to the bench across the road and sit there and watch the world. It is a very special place, and much as I would like to keep it a secret, it’s too good not to share!

Great to hear you enjoyed our cottage. It is a lovely location which we are fortunate to have. We also offer sit on the bench and watch the birds and sometimes Dolphins:) Thank you Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "The cottage was excellent and had everything we needed."

The beds were large and comfy, and it was warm enough even in the very cold weather. Also the location was excellent, right on the sea front and just a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Thank you for your lovely feedback on our cottage. Glad you had a nice visit and hope to have you back in the future:) Thank you Fiona and Brian Property Owner

Loved the walks with our dog. The cottage is just beautiful. Very well kept cozy and comfortable. The bed comfiest we have slept in apart from our own. Missing the sound of the waves already.

Great to have you and thank you for the lovely feedback. Would be great to have you back sometime in the future. Thank you Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in superb location."

Great walks straight from the front door, particularly liked the park and beach walks. Would recommend visit to MacDuff Aquarium and Peterhead Prison, also loved Pennan and Cullen. The cottage is a credit to its owners, everything provided for a very enjoyable week.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you back. Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "From the minute we got there we felt relaxed."

Such an equipped comfortable cottage. The dog loved it too. We loved the walk from Banff to Whitehills along the walking route and beach. The views were spectacular. We especially enjoyed sitting on the bench out the front. Loved the binoculars reminded me of being a kid. Went in a fishing trip from Macduff, had a brilliant time . And the Railway inn pub, made us feel so welcome. Already booked to go back next year.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. Yes, that is a nice walk along the coast to Whitehills. The result of the fishing trip was well received as well:) Would be great to have you back in the future. Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "Superb sea themed cottage in an ideal location in Banff."

Heritage trail at the back of the cottage which will take you all the way to Whitehills, next village along the coast. Immaculately clean, comfortable and all round excellent quality equipment along with all cleaning materials provided. Good information folder for cottage along with local guides and maps for area. Easy car parking on street just outside the front door. Excellent Wi-Fi connection and mobile signal. Great for dog owners too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dolphin Cottage.

  • "We have just returned from a weeks stay in Dolphin cottage and what can I say."

The cottage is in a beautiful position open the front door and your on the beach where we saw some beautiful sun sets. The cottage itself was imacculate with so many little extras particularly the home made short bread which was delicious. Every little detail has been thought out to make it a real home from home it's a credit to the owners and we look forward to a return visit in the future.

Thank you for the review - we appreciate your positive feedback :-) Glad you enjoyed your stay and managed to watch some lovely sunsets. We look forward to your return. Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "Enjoyed my stay."

Cottage cosy after being out all day. Loved watching the waves and sunsetting. I have marked this down as the sofa and one of the chairs are awful to sit on and need replacing. Something has happened to one half of the sofa and it is completely done and uneven to sit on. I almost caused myself an injury sitting on middle of sofa and ended up on very hard section. Hard to describe but all you feel is hard, almost broken sections when trying to get comfy. Also rug at fire is a hazard and we removed it for our stay as one end completely curled up and an accident waiting to happen. May I also point out that why assume if booking for 3 people that the double bed and single will be sufficient. I booked this as there were 3 beds and luckily i had some bedding with me otherwise I would have had to buy some. Like I said enjoyed my stay but have marked down comfort and facilities for the points mentioned.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we also think the cottage is comfortable and cosy, and the views can be great either in calm or stormy conditions in their own different ways. We were aware that one of the sofa seat cushions had a drooped a little and were monitoring the situation while we looked for a replacement. This is now planned for the coming week. We did not think it would cause an injury, or we would have acted immediately. The sofa is a two-seater recliner and is not designed to be sat in the middle of the two recliner seats as this is where the mechanism is located, this may be the part you sat on. Thank you for bringing the rug to our attention: apologies for the inconvenience, we will deal with the curled corner asap. We apologise for the miscommunication re sleeping arrangements, but there is always spare bedding in the cottage in the cupboard under the stairs. We will look at moving this upstairs to the bedroom cupboard in the future. Maybe this could have been discussed during our communications leading up to your arrival, or a call on your arrival could easily have dealt with it at the time and rectified the misunderstanding immediately. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Dolphin Cottage, and once again we are disappointed that a few things may have spoiled your experience. UPDATE: Sofa replaced and new chairs also installed in to the cottage. May 2023 Best regards Fiona and Brian Property Owner

  • "Charming cottage, very well renovated with quality fittings, comfortable and warm."

Beautiful location right next to the sea and central for exploring the lovely Moray Firth coast. It exceeded expectations. The steps in the back garden are a little challenging for the older visitor, a handrail would be welcome.

  • "Dolphin Cottage is lovely, well placed, immaculately clean."

Everything you need is there for you to enjoy your stay. We didnt find we were missing anything we needed. The owners had left things we didnt expect to find, especially with the toiletries. They left us milk and tea and coffee facilities for our arrival, also a starter pack for the log fire. We arrived to a power cut and they were able to advise us on when the power might be restored. They left a folder of hints and tips and all the manuals needed for the appliances. They deserve to be popular with guests. Lovely cottage and fab hosts. It took us 9 hours to get to Banff but we would happily book again. The cottage is dog friendly and they provide throws for the furniture. We will recommend them to anyone we know who might want to travel to that area. One tip if you are hoping to see the northern lights, ask the locals for advice on your first night. We found out that the lights had appeared on at least 3 nights of our stay but despite looking out of the windows we didnt see them, maybe we should have looked out of the back door not the front as we saw more stars in the sky at the back. All in all a lovely week in Banff and the surrounding area with a lovely cottage to go home to each evening

Good evening, Thank you for the lovely feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Would glad to have you back again. Hopefully you might manage to see the Northern Lights. We have seen them from the bench across the road:) Thank you again for choosing Dolphin Cottage. Best regards Fiona and Brian Property Owner

The view from the front door was beautiful and we spent a lot of time sitting in the bench across the road watching the view. We even had a dolphin display which just made our holiday. It is a great base for seeing the area, places to visit are Portsoy, Pennan, Lossiemouth and Elgin. The owners were very nice and attentive and the cottage was beautiful and had everything you need. We will definitely be back
