Lovely place in a great location.

The sofas are well past their sell by date and in urgent need of replacement. Found them extremely uncomfortable.

Absolutely stunning location.

Lovely cottage. Could not fault anything.

This is a really comfortable and well presented cottage.

The location is absolutely perfect if you want peace and quiet at this time of year. The village is a tourist attraction due to having been the location for a 1980s film. There is no shop in the village and the beach is a pebble Beach with a harbour at one end.

Lovely traditional cottage, very well equipped.

Warm and quiet. Comfy bed ,no steps internally only 1 at the outer door. Good size walk in shower. Only point down are sofas are low and not very comfy. Nice private wee garden area out back to sit but the views to the front and proximity of a bench looking to the sea is the best.

This was our 2nd visit and nothing much had changed.

Warm and fairly comfy. Sofas are past their best and not as comfy. Bed is lovely but a 13.5 double duvet on a double bed was small and too hot. Lots of duvet fighting! Bit of an issues with kitchen and bathroom, some pots were not clean and the shower 'plug' was disgusting, had a fair amount of hair dangling and was dirty and smelly. I left a note for the cleaner regarding this. We would visit again though. Take care exiting the front door....cars may wizz by very closely!!

Delightful wee cottage facing the seafront with beautiful view.

Spotlessly clean and also very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Great communication with owner who was really helpful. Would definitely stay again.

An amazing location, the view itself is worth booking for

An absolutely beautiful quaint little cottage overlooking the beach at Pennan.

From the front window i was able to see Gannets crash diving into the sea for fish along with the more sedate Cormorants. The village is very peaceful with one very nice Inn and the wonderful Coastal Cuppie where Shona serves home made cakes to die for. Just 5 mins up the road is the gorgeous sandy cove of Callykhan bay well worth a visit , in fact there are nice quiet little beaches with rocks and caves all along this stretch of coast. If you are after a get away from it all break in an agricultural area with lovely rugged coastline and terrific beaches this is the place for you.

The cottage is lovely, quaint, bijou and cosy.

On arrival, it was spotlessly clean and not welcoming. The position is brilliant being right in front of the sea with a view of the gannets fishing, fabulous sunsets but sadly no dolphins! We gave four stars for Comfort because the sofas in the lounge are worn out and not very comfortable to sit on, and the bed although very comfortable is small. Yes, it is a standard double, but it would be better with a king size duvet on it, but a better still if it were a king size bed. However, that was the only fault we could find. We had a lovely meal in the Pennan hotel and visited the RSPB sanctuary, the Dolphin Centre, the Lighthouse in Fraserborough, Aden country Park as well as a quick tour of the JC Rennie wool mill. We have never been to Aberdeenshire before and loved the rolling countryside and the cattle in the fields. Sorry to miss the dolphins and the Orcas “you’ve just missed them” was heard a few times! So would love to come back and see them again.

Amazing location!

Very comfortable, cosy cottage with everything you might need. Perfect place to escape for some peace and tranquility.

My stay in Pennan was a tick off my bucket list and it didn't disappoint , The cottage has everything you need to cater for yourself.

I stayed early October and was lucky with the weather but on the occasion I did need central heating it was very efficient and warmed the cottage in minutes. I also lit the coal fire for extra cosiness. The village pub is now open 4 night a week and worth a visit as is the costal cuppie - a small shack on the harbour selling hot drinks and cakes and its owner Shona is a mine of local information. It was all abut the location for me and didn't disappoint.

We are just back from a week at St Magnus Haven which is in Pennan and not Gardenstown which is a little bit further along the coast.

I have given St Magnus Haven a consistent five star rating as we found it to be a very comfortable and clean 'home from home' in a very quiet and peaceful seaside village. But it is not only us who enjoyed our stay, our little dachshund settled the very first night and had a whale of a time enjoying the sand, sea and rock pools.

Again a completely relaxing holiday with visits to the “coastal cuppie” and Aden country park for dog to run about.

Only downside was previous guest left the oven trays dirty as well as the microwave so had to clean prior to any usage? But otherwise good holiday

Staying in St Magnus Haven was a pleasure, a return visit is already being planned.

We had a wonderful week in the Cottage.

Loved being able to open the door and being right by the sea! The cottage was lovely, very comfortable with everything you would need, nice bedroom with a comfy, warm duvet. Great lounge views, spotted dolphins from the window! Fridge big enough for our weeks shop. Also loved the shower! Had a great week!

I don’t think I’ve stayed in such a well equipped Cottage before.

We had a fantastic week doing not a lot! Weather was mixed but just added to the magic that is Pennan . We explored the area by bike, kayak , on foot and in car and had a great time .

Excellent throughout. Could not fault in anyway. Everything you need is supplied. Very Comfortable bed(great night's sleep) Living area with two comfortable sofas with tv\dvd player.Endless supply if books and DVD. Galley kitchen with everything you need.light airey sun lounge to the rear.Garden area at rear,with seating area (private)and a suntrap. Location, what can I say Amazing views to die for,could not ask for anything more . Saw dolphins passing by and seal aswell. Highly recommended for a relaxing chilled get away.

Cottage was excellent, village was really nice, both for myself and Linda but also for Milo the dog, as there were great walks for him, and also for him to go into the water in the harbour.

village was also good re distance to both Banff and Fraserburgh when we needed some shopping. scenery was also excellent re cliffs etc. all in all a superb break and we will definitely rebook this cottage if it is available, when we next having a break

What a property!

We simply didn't want to leave. It's got all the creature comforts, comfortable bed, peaceful. The heating is simple but really does the job, it was used a couple of times as there was a few times where the NE weather was a bit chilly. The property soon warmed up and had to halt the heating within minutes otherwise it got too hot. The kitchen is well equipped as well and the bathroom/shower unit was amazing. 10 out of 10 lovely.

Of all the holiday cottages we have stayed in, this is definitely one of the best.

We’ll equipped, comfortable and warm. Pennan is a special place, well worth a visit.

Lovely cottage which was bigger than it looks.

Very comfortable, tastefully decorated and easy to heat. The kitchen had all the equipment you could possibly need and more. I loved the shower with the large head and the bed was very comfortable. The sun room/ dining room was an added bonus and was lovely and warm in the am’s. The tv and mobile phone reception were great.

This was a very relaxing break, just simply peace and quiet.

Much time spent on the beach with our dog, who had a fabulous time also. Watching the waves rolling in is soporific. The road down to Pennan is steep, but the first sight of the village setting is positively stunning. The cottage is small, but all you need, comfy and cosy. An escape from the hustle and bustle of our normal life....perfect.

Fantastic location.

As described it’s a true fisherman’s cottage so is small particularly the kitchen which is very small. Plenty of hot water and heating good so is cosy. Very nice area for walking and cycling.

Beautiful little cottage with everything you may need to enjoy your stay here,ideal for a get a way from it all break, Fraserburgh has a lovely beach which is only a short scenic drive away,further up the coast you have Banff and Portsoy too, St Magnus Haven is an excellent base to explore the beauty of Scotlands North East Coast.

A true home from home, exceptionally well equipped, cosy, painlessly clean and comfortable.

Spacious and a secure, beautiful, sun-trap courtyard garden. The views were amazing and to be able to watch sunrise and sunset was a real bonus. Lots of information about the area supplied and so many books to read. We had amazing weather and had lovely walks over the cliffs to local villages. St Magnus Haven and Pennan itself were truly once in a lifetime finds, locals were very friendly and helpful. Missing the peace and quiet and sounds of the sea on the shore already.

This is a comfortable cottage in a beautiful place.

We found it very comfortable and cozy. Shower is brilliant. If you want to cook whilst here the kitchen is extremely small and cramped which we did know was small before we arrived so did only cook a couple of times.

The location was just amazing .

cottage had everything you needed. Well advised re shopping .would recommend to anyone needing a well earned rest.

Magnus Haven was my home away from home, well equipped and really comfortable. Lashings of hot water and central heating kept me nice and warm. It's a lovely property and I had no problems at all in my week there. The WiFi speed was really good, my Amazon Firestick worked without a hitch on the TV. The village is quiet but I went to get away from it all and myself and my dog enjoyed the shingle beach outside the property and Aderdour Bay which is just a bit east and only a short drive away. There are no shops or facilities in the village itself, and sadly the Inn was shut during my visit. Banff and Fraserborough offer the usual supermarket and other facilities and both are just a short drive.

We enjoyed the full holiday, the area is just stunning, loads to do, beautiful walks and the cottage was just fab, right on the lovely shore, it had everything you needed and more, it was so comfortable and homely that you really felt you were in your own home.

Magnus Haven is a lovely, comfortable cottage in a stunning location. The cottage had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. The coastline along the Moray Firth is stunning. I would highly recommend this cottage.

The courtyard at the back of the house was well understated.

It was a lot bigger than expected and was well tended. A real suntrap which we enjoyed every day.

A fabulous stay in this lovely quaint and well equipped cottage.

A beautiful setting with only the noise of the sea and the seagulls! The well enclosed garden was perfect for our little dog and we felt happy knowing he could go out and was safe and secure. The oil fired heating was a bonus as the evenings even in June could be a little chilly but the cottage quickly warmed up with a little heating. All in all for us a perfect holiday in an amazing location, can't wait to return!

The cottage is a well equipped home from home and the view couldn’t be better.

This was just what was needed - batteries restored by hydro power.

Great spot and St Magnus Haven is perfect. Quiet, tranquil setting and literally nothing to do but enjoy. The cottage was scrupulously clean and had everything I needed for a peaceful stay. The nearby beaches and villages were lovely and it is amazing how many hours can be lost watching boats be put in the water. Quite honestly it was the best holiday I have ever had. Oh, the dog loved it too!

! If peace and quiet is what your after then this is the place to go. Fabulous cottage with everything you need. Loved the open fire.

We found the kitchen area very small and cluttered.

We both like to cook and lack of space made it very difficult for two people to be in the kitchen at the same time. The bed was very comfortable, but the duvet was not big enough to cover two people, and at the end of October it was quite cold, it requires a king size duvet. Overall this is a nice cottage in a lovely location.

Beautiful cottage, no phone signal and no WiFi resulted in incredible peace and tranquility for us.

Has to have been the most relaxing holiday We've had.

Perhaps not everyone's taste but so quiet, tranquil and if we'd been any more relaxed, we'd have been horizontal. The view of the sea from our window kept us constantly in awe with the changes. Lovely little villages around. No noise bar the waves. Lovely Pennan Inn at end of street. Wonderful place to unwind and relax.
