Quality beds. Good WiFi. Bath sheets and more than one set of towels, would have been useful . 4:30 pm entry and 10:00 am departure can surely be flexible Especially as the bedding / towels are placed in the laundry basket by the renters .

Beautiful cottage, lovely location, it's very quiet and relaxing. All rooms are superb, quality of furnishings are top class, kitchen well equipped, downstairs loo which is a bonus. Bedrooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Separate shower and bath is great. We love this cottage and fell it's home from home. Well worth a visit. 5* accommodation!

Portknockie is an ideal location. I doubt we travelled more than 15 miles in either direction along the coast but everyday had a majir highlight. A most enjoyable holiday made even better by comfortable accomodation.

Well equipped kitchen, lovely outdoor space, we are going again in September, can't recommend this cottage enough, it is brilliant.

  • "Grace Cottage was lovely."

clean, very well fitted out and much more spacious than we anticipated. The ground floor Kingsize bed was cosy and beautifully comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms were not used. For an October visit the heating system was easy to operate and very effective. The garden was useful when our two grandchildren visited from Buckie. We loved the antique furniture around the house. One concern was the knobs across the top of the oven which became dangerously hot on the one occasion when the oven was used. And a sieve to trap coffee grounds from going down the drain would have been helpful. Parking outside the cottage was useful if a little tricky. The owners were extremely helpful when we got trapped by Storm Babette (Which was not their fault of course). Apart from the storm it was a really good stay. Thank you owners.

We visit Sykes cottages several time per year and this is the best one by far we have every stayed at. Fabulous cottage, furnishings and kitchen appliances were superb, very clean and cozy. Lovely garden, we'll be back in the warmer weather to try it out! Good heating and comfortable bed. Great bathroom, separate shower was a plus, loved the bath. Charming village and surrounding area to explore, local chippy was superb and Chinese take away was very good. Harbour walks and lots to see on foot was just stunning. Overall a lovely weeks stay. Thank you you to the owners, you have done a fantastic job with this cottage :-)

  • "The kitchen is very dated and the cooker needs replacing."

The bedroom windows need blackout shutters due to very light nights and early mornings. The blinds are virtually useless because they let so much light in. Some of the windows do not open easily. Would not stay again.

We are sorry to hear that your stay was disappointing, especially since nothing has actually changed about the cottage since your wife's kind and positive reviews of previous stays there in August 2019 and May 2017. We do, however, appreciate the feedback of all our guests, who we want to have a happy time at the cottage. Thank you for the points you have made. We will consider them and make changes where necessary. Property Owner

The beds are very comfortable. Everything is provided - foil, tea towels, washing up liquid, hand wash, decent sharp knives, dishwasher tablets, sandwich bags, whisk, scales, even a pizza cutter! I had brought a few of these items as sometimes they are missing in holiday rentals but everything stayed in my bag. The only suggestion I would make is for some outdoor furniture to allow outside dining and proper blackout blinds in the bedrooms as it is very light on a summer’s morning.

  • "The cottage was one of the best we have been to in the Moray coast, we have holidayed there now for a week to fortnight these past eleven years."

The description, location and standard of the property was excellent. One small failing was that the accommodation only provided on hand towel and one bath towel per person for the week, where most other properties we have rented provided enough towels for a week. As can happen we didn’t have particularly good weather, but I would recommend this property to couples or families and would consider renting again in the future.

The accommodation is very well presented with lots of space in the lounge/dining area with a good sized kitchen. Every room was furnished beautifully and in spotless condition. There is plenty of information of what is happening locally and we tried out the coastal walks to Cullen and Findochty, which we would definitely recommend! Tried the fish and chips from the chip shop and they were delicious!! Also visited Lossiemouth – beautiful sandy beach – great to walk along and watch the jets doing “circuit and bumps”. Findhorn – lovely walk around the harbour and beach. 2 pubs serving local seafood as well. Cardhu Distillery – part of the Speyside Whisky Trail. It was our first trip to this part of Scotland and we can definitely say we will return.
