Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage was a beautiful place to stay.

We were welcomed by the owner Ann when we arrived and two of the resident dogs. There was a lovely welcome food pack which included eggs from the farms hens, and a few treats to enjoy during our stay. The accommodation was comfortable with a large open plan living/dining room and kitchen with windows all around to look out onto the surrounding farmland and animals. The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked most of our meals at the cottage. The cottage had a double bedroom and bath/shower room downstairs and a second double and a twin bedroom with a separate toilet/sink upstairs. We didn't need to use the open fire in the living room but I imagine it would be lovely to use in the winter. We were able to walk freely around the paths between the small fields/paddocks where there were rows of trees, several were in blossom during our stay. There were donkeys, ponies, chickens, geese and sheep in the paddocks around the cottage and anytime you stepped outside the door at least one of the dogs would come to greet you, they were friendly without being intrusive. We had all weathers during our stay, as is usual for this area, but we were able to take advantage of sitting outside on the patio to enjoy the few moments of sun when they happened. The cottage is well placed to explore Aberdeen and the surrounding countryside with a relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day or you could hole up for the day and just relax, read and enjoy the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Stable Cottage to stay for a holiday.

Stable Cottage was bright, spacious and exceptionally well equipped for our week‑long stay.

Its location is ideal both for relaxing at the cottage and for exploring everything Aberdeenshire has to offer. The welcome hamper was a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated.

The cottage it’s self and the surroundings are amazing! The owner Anne thinks of every little detail! The welcome hamper and fresh eggs were a lovely welcoming touch. We would highly recommend and we hope to return in the future.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many. Very comfortable with everything you need and absolutely spotless. In beautiful grounds with ponies, donkeys, hens and ducks. Ann, the owner was very welcoming as was her friendly dog Henry. Can't recommend highly enough.

What an amazing place!

The photos paint a great picture of it, but the reality was even better. We booked Stable Cottage for about a week of peace and quiet countryside. The scenery was so calming and charming, the place so comfortable that our children didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for having us, we will definitely be back.

Ann was a great host. Very relaxing location, a real home away from home that is close enough to the city if you want to do some shopping but also close to the Highlands if you feel like immersing yourself in nature. Hope to be back in October.

Our holiday as always at stable cottage it’s like a home from home for us , our 6th visit to the cottage , lovely clean and tidy and ready for a great week in Aberdeenshire , cozy fire and lovely host Anne , animals and scenery nearby , if your looking for a place to stay book it you will not be disappointed.

This cottage is fantastic for all of the family , lovely host Anne , the stunning countryside and the magic of the animals and being so close to so many attractions , if your thinking of booking , just do it you won’t be disappointed, lovely fire , lovely area and 10/10 for the cottage for being so homely and welcoming and spotless .

Anne's cottage is simply stunning. The cottage is immaculately kept and together with the beautiful surroundings make for a perfect, relaxing family holiday. The kids loved being around the animals especially the very lovable Henry (Tami misses him!!) This was our first visit to Scotland and we've made some marvellous memories! Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Anne :)

Beautiful cottage so peaceful and relaxing, cottage is equipped with everything you’d need it just was perfect a real home from home, The owner Anne is a lovely lady so welcoming, her dogs really are adorable ❤️ The donkeys, horses, geese and hens just give the place a real country feel.

Stunning views you really couldn’t ask for better, we loved it and didn’t want to leave, highly recommended you won’t be disappointed, we definitely will be returning next year….just the perfect place ❤️

The cottage, the furnishings,the gardens and surroundings are all perfect and the sun shone all week!! Anne the owner is lovely and couldn't have been more helpful.The donkeys,chickens,ducks and dogs henry and ollie have to be mentioned. I could honestly have taken those dogs home with me, they are just gorgeous

Anne was so friendly and welcoming. The animals on the farm were great and my daughter loved them. The cottage was cosy, comfy and very well stocked with a beautiful, and yummy welcome basket of goodies! Willow most definitely be back! Thanks

Beautifully maintained property, the outside area and the rest of the farm. Our children loved playing with dogs and meeting all other animals. Thank you Anne for being such a welcoming, friendly and caring host! Everything was perfect - we had such a good night sleep - exactly what we needed! It was hard to leave and we are hoping to be able to return soon :-)

We had fantastic stay at Stable Cottage, our only complaint being it was too short, something we will be sure to rectify next time.

Excellent location and clean comfy stay well equipped

Stable Cottage was one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in.

Spacious, comfortable, with a real feel of home from home. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil/pan you could need. Lovely beds and bedding, clean bathrooms. The living space works perfectly, we could all be together whilst preparing dinner and also sit out on the patio enjoying the views and the animals. The location was stunning, with beautiful views from every window. Well positioned for easy access to both Aberdeen and the Grampians , we visited some beautiful places like the Linn of Dee, Crathes Castle, Dunnotar Castle, Footdee and Aberdeen Harbour and even saw the salmon leaping at the Bridge of Feugh- what a privilege! Loved the chickens gently roaming around, the braying donkeys and, of course, Leroy, the dog, stole our hearts. He was an impeccably behaved visitor! Our host, Anne, was wonderful. She was very welcoming, there if you needed her, but completely non-intrusive. A lovely lady. We would recommend Stable Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful, but still full of life, holiday in a beautiful part of Scotland. Hidden gem!

We had a fabulous stay at Stable Cottage.

Anne was very welcoming along with her gorgeous doggies! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The goody basket was delicious! We couldn't fault our stay - just wish it had been longer!!

We had fantastic stay here the cottage and its location are stunning.

Anne is fantastic and very approachable. But the highlight for me was the animals the four donkeys, Leroy the dog and Henrietta the chicken. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Cottage and grounds are very well looked after by an amazing lady called Anne. Perfect location for seeing all that Aberdeenshire has to offer. One not to miss!

We had a very comfortable stay at Stable Cottage, enjoyed the space and setting and it made a great base for exploring Aberdeenshire.

We felt immediately 'at home' and didn't want for anything. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stable Cottage to others and would certainly book it again if we decide to revisit the area. And thank you for your warm and friendly hospitality.

Anne was a fantastic host!

Stable cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. Our family loved the farm; playing in the garden and at the swings, walking around to say hello to all the animals and sitting out on the patio with a cup of tea (or glass of wine) looking out at the beautiful views. Anne was so kind in letting our kids feed the animals and pick eggs-a real treat! There was so much to do in the area for our family. It really is a special place and we will be back!

We had a wonderful two weeks at Stable Cottage in Aberdeenshire.

Ann was a very welcoming and helpful host. We had a slight problem with a power cut, but she did everything she could to supply us with alternative lighting and kept us informed of what the electric company were doing.. The property was in a great location, Very comfortable and roomy. It was great having the animals about the places- horses, donkeys, chickens and dogs. We had a happy and peaceful stay there. Plenty to see in easy reach.

The cottage itself was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and our children loved being on the farm and seeing all the animals. Our host, Anne, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. I hope we are able to return there sometime and I have no hesitation in recommending Stable Cottage to others.

Such a welcoming, warm, homely cottage.

Lovely, friendly owner. Though on the same property as the farm/main house, the cottage and outdoor area felt very private. The donkeys and ponies were an absolute hit with my toddler, as was the swing and slide by the pond. Views were lovely to look out at and the stay felt very relaxing. Owner went above and beyond to buy us an outdoor umbrella on what was undoubtedly the hottest few days of the year!! Would 100% recommend and would definitely return.

A great place to stay from the personal welcome at the start, the care and attention to detail to ensure that our stay was as homely as possible, everything was just right for us.

We enjoyed the lovely garden patio overlooking the donkeys and horses fields. With the hens pecking around. They were a delight to watch. As were the four friendly dogs. A great holiday home.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage and the owner Anne who is on-site is the most wonderful host.

Cottage is very clean, cosy and has everything we needed. Great broadband too which was handy as we had to work a few days. Kids loved all the animals too and had a great time helping out, really can’t fault it and hope to return soon.

The property was exactly as advertised and perfect for our needs.

We had a lovely week and had everything we could possibly need. Anne looked after us and being on a farm was great allowing the kids to see animals up close. The location was also great as it was centrally located to everything we wanted to do.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage, beautifully and tastefully decorated and the underfloor heating kept us warm and cosy in a very spacious converted stable that sleeps 6 people.

In the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside it made a great base for exploring and just relaxing if we didn't feel like going anywhere. Anne is a wonderful host who made sure we had everything we needed and even introduced us to the delights of the Aberdeen Butteries. I highly recommend booking Stable Cottage if you're looking for top notch self catering accommodation with views of the beautiful countryside.
