  • "The Headland was perfect."

The view across the bay is stunning and we sat for hours just looking out. The garden is nothing less than spectacular and our dog Buddy loved investigating all the nooks and crannies. The house was really well equipped and the hosts left a lovely welcome basket. The wood burner made for cosy evenings and it was really useful meeting Mike who gave us lots of useful information about the property as well as places to visit. We would love to return to this beautiful property. A real gem.

The hosts were super helpful & made us feel at home immediately. The property itself & surroundings are beyond beautiful; the views utterly breathtaking & the walks are plentiful in variety. The beach was lovely & we were welcomed by the local open-water swimmers. I can imagine how the location changes in what it has to offer throughout the year & would love to visit back, if only we could find a suitable week that isn't already booked! You will not be disappointed in choosing The Headland & hope that any subsequent visitors enjoy it just as much as we did.

Thank-you for you great review Besnik I am sure you would really enjoy it in Summer but as you say it is difficult to find a week as we get booked up a long way in advance Property Owner

The property is cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We'd like to thank Maurice & Mike who were both very kind, helpful and informative and being animal lovers, we also loved the company of Elsa! The beach is a short walk away so we didn't really need to go out much, we had everything right there that we needed, Ollie & Bella our four legged family enjoyed it too! We've stayed in one or two properties with Sykes now, but this is without a doubt, one of our favourites and we hope to be back again soon!

Amazing location, the view, the natural and abundant gardens and the peace and quiet. We stay in cottages throughout the UK and my only 'moan' is that there is usually a Winter duvet on the beds, even in Summer. This leads us to bringing a light quilt with us now or having difficulties sleeping, which is the last thing you want to experience on holiday. I'm delighted with the Owners of The Headland because they have 2 x light Summer quilts on the bed, so, you actually have a choice. Well done !! I'd be grateful if more of the properties did the same. The beds were sooo comfortable!!

Simple but memorable. We hardly left the bay for two weeks and spent our time kayaking, swimming, fishing, reading and walking. We used the lovely large and bright kitchen to do lots of baking, cook all the fish and enjoy family meals. We found ourselves mesmerised by the view from the house and garden….feeling part of the passage of the days and tides by gazing at the amazing view of the bay and the lighthouse. My husband painted the scene in different light and weather. We also wondered around the bay to the bench on the other side of the bay looking back at the bungalow and sunset each evening. Gadget the seal was very interested in us….greeting us on our first morning below the garden and keeping a close eye on our fishing antics! Thank you for the kind welcome gifts and super tomatoes! A lovely touch. Our dog had a busy time chasing rabbits…they were very wise to it all…and enjoyed tge dog treats. We would love to return. Thank you x

The view is breathtaking. The cottage was immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed & more. The bedrooms are a great size, bigger than we expected. The main shower room was excellent for my mother who has mobility problems & the picture windows in the lounge gives you access to the view no matter what the weather is like outside. What can I say about the garden, but ‘Wow’. Our little Jack Russell enjoyed exploring the 5 acres as did we. Remember to walk through the archway, at the side of the house and past the sundial and you will find an abundance of trees, a terraced garden, a multitude of fabulous bushes & flowers and the odd hidden statue. To the front is the breathtaking view, private access to the cove and costal path. If you are thinking of booking The Headland, I highly recommend it as it will not disappoint.

The owners have done a great renovation job. Michael, one of the two brothers, Greeted us and was very helpful and a wealth of local knowledge, and available to help, but not too in your face. An amazing, large welcome pack awaited us and milk in the fridge. Inside it's antique furniture steeped with family history, meets brand new and modern. The Large kitchen/Diner is very well equipped with up to the minute facilities. The lounge has large picture windows which afford views of the bay and coastline. A cute sunroom is a nice alternative to look out from again with views of the coast. The coastal path is at the end of the garden, and a private path leads down to Llaneilan beach, We didn't find a private beach so guess that's a typo! Bedrooms, comfy and clean with views of the gardens. Shower room, en suit and loo all spotless. Will definitely book again, if we're fortunate to find a spot as I think this one will go like hot cakes.

Dear Maria, thankyou for your great review of The Headland. What a view and what a location! It's an excellent, comfortable cottage which the five of us thoroughly enjoyed. It really has the wow factor. Fresh air, the sounds of the sea and birdsong. We didn't watch TV but arranged the lounge furniture so as to enjoy the sea view from the big window. We found access from the parking spaces was easy with no steps. There is no path to a private beach but the extensive grounds lead down to the entrance to Porth Eilian beach. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, and wanted to be sure we were happy with the property. We've already recommended The Headland to friends and hope to book again for next year.

Dear Paul, Thankyou for your great comments on the Headland. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The comment about the private beach was an error. It should have read that the private land of the property adjoins the beach. Mike said you spent a lot of time looking at the view from the picture window. This can also be spectacular in winter storms when the steep sides of the bay cause enormous waves to rush down the length of the bay hitting the near vertical cliff at the end of the bay.
