Ty Hir

We once again enjoyed our holiday at Ty Hir, our third visit.

The safe fully enclosed garden was perfect for our young terrier. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean as usual. Ruth the owner is lovely and she made sure that we had everything we needed.

We love it at Ty Hir, what a lovely cottage.

This was our second visit and we hope to visit again. The beds are so comfy, we had a wonderful rest. The cottage was really clean and homely. We miss the views across the Menai Straits to the mountains and the beautiful sunrises. It's good to have an enclosed garden for our dog. Only a few minutes to Beaumaris and not far from Penmon Point and the fabulous beaches all around Anglesey. As we said in our previous review - Ty Hir is a bit old fashioned, but that suits us as we're old fashioned too! We can't wait to return.

We had a lovely stay at Ty Hir.

The location was ideal, the remoteness relaxing and the property itself was an ideal space for the 4 of us with the enclosed garden ideal for our dog. Very clean and well stocked with kitchen facilities and washing machine. We all agreed we’d love to return.

Beautiful cottage, beautiful location and beautiful weather!

There was only one thing that was problematic, having a large estate car it was, shall we say, challenging and that was getting in and out!

!, however the stay at Ti-Hir was very enjoyable, Anglesey is our favourite island to visit. The property was fully dog friendly being fenced in all around. the parking would not stop us from booking Ti-Hir again in the future, but bringing a smaller car!! Lol.

Cottage is always very clean on arrival , beds really comfortable, everything you need is provided .

The enclosed garden is also well kept and perfect for dogs to run safely. The cottage is in a peaceful environment with lovely views. Everything is good.

Very enjoyable break in a very relaxing atmosphere at Ty Hir and with such lovely weather looking forward to our next visit (DV).

It was nice that the owner (Ruth) came over to welcome us when we first arrived, and thereafter left us alone.

The biscuits, and milk in the fridge were a nice welcome too. Overall it was a beautiful place to stay, picturesque, quiet, and comfortable.

As always Ty Hir is beautifully presented and the owner Ruth so welcoming and helpful.

Ty Hir is spacious, traditional and homely with excellent views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia. The enclosed, secure front garden was ideal for the dog. We appreciated the welcome gift of tea, coffee, milk and Welshcakes and even some dog biscuits. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful week.

Especially when the boiler went down they were straight onto it and got it repaired.. Also provided alternative heating until it was done. The property itself is very well maintained fully stocked and would reccommend to friends and family.

A comfortable home from home in a delightful peaceful spot.

Don’t expect modern minimalist decor but a warm welcome, comfortable beds and an excellent location with views towards the mountains. Would definitely return (as many do).

This is a fantastic cottage with great views, and in a very peaceful location.

It is also easy to access the rest of Anglesey. Our objective was relaxation and walking - although the weather was very windy and quite wet, the cottage was perfect to return to at the end of the day for home cooking and hot baths! It was also very spacious for two of us, so we could use the spare bedroom to store our walking gear. The owner, Dr Parry, lives up the hill - he called in to make sure everything was okay.

We love this property, it’s like a home from home, very relaxing.

Ruth looks after us so well. Can’t wait to revisit in a few weeks time God willing

Ty Hir is a beautiful cottage!

Very comfortable and clean. Lovely gardens to relax in and very secure for our dog.The views from the cottage are breathtaking looking out to Snowdonia. A short walk up the road that is a dead end, leads straight on to the footpaths. These go across farmland. The coast is very easy to get too. The owner of the Property is so kind, and is always at hand if you need anything. We are going again next year this will be our 4th visit! We are so looking forward to going again!

We enjoyed our stay at Ty Hir, it was beautifully quiet with fantastic views of Snowdon and the Menai Straight and our dog was very safe in the enclosed garden.

It's location is also great being close to Beaumaris and only a short drive from Menai Bridge Town and the A55 which gives good access to other parts of the island. You can easily get to Snowdonia National Park in 30 to 45 minutes. Ty Hir it self is an old building, I don't know how old but the brick walls are reasurringly very thick. It does have very comfortable beds and lots of original features. It has a rich history with some of it displayed on the walls in pictures. The kitchen is fuctional and everything works but it is dated and a little worn on the edges. Its design took me back to the 80's especially the analogue clock on the oven. If you want a peaceful break with your four legged friend Ty Hir is perfect

The cottage is very comfortable and has stunning views. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our two dogs. The owners Ruth and Iwan were very friendly and approachable. We hope to return in the near future.

Another wonderful week, it’s like a home from home and the welcome is always lovely

Very well presented and clean cottage, in a very quiet location but well placed for all the sites that Anglesey has to offer.

We travelled with two Springers and the gardens in the Front and Rear of the property are enclosed, and large enough to let dogs run free without any worries. On the whole a very pleasant and enjoyable holiday at Ty Hir. The host of the property Ruth is a very helpful and pleasant lady and is on hand should you need anything. We would visit again.

It was so enjoyable and relaxing. The sea air was so envigorating and everyone we met on Anglesey was so welcoming . We feel really refreshed after our break and look forward to our next visit in May DV. Wonderful owners, so friendly and helpful.

RUTH THE OWNER WAS SO HELPFUL, HAPPY AND KIND. THE GARDEN WAS DOG FRIENDLY AND THE GRASS CUT WHICH HELPS. WE PUSHED THE TWIN BEDS TOGETHER IN THE BIG BEDROOM SO OUR BED WAS HUGE AND VERY VERY COMFORTABLE. A SWEET LITTLE FIND WATCHING THE SUN RISE OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND THE MENAI STRAITS

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ty Hir.

The host was welcoming and the cottage was very clean and lovely and warm. The location is ideal if you like to wander on foot. I particularly enjoyed my walk to Lleiniog Beach, along the coastline, and through the woods to the remains of the Norman stone castle. I would love to visit again during the summer.

Lovely comfy, cozy cottage in a great location.

Peaceful, with lovely views and a great garden, which our dog enjoyed. Handy shop in the village and endless footpaths to enjoy with your dog. Highly recommend.

Brilliant secure garden for dogs.

Cottage lovely, v comfortable beds, sofas, 2 receptions to use. Thanks to the owners for the loan of the map. Oh, the view is excellent, from every window. And the route to the cottage is v easy, only a v short bit of narrow lane that will cause no problem for anyone (unlike quite a lot of other villages).

A superb holiday cottage!

Beautifully situated yet not too remote. Spotlessly clean and with absolutely everything my husband and I and our two dogs could want. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable and there is a plentiful supply of constant hot water. The large secure garden was perfect for the dogs and had beautiful views towards Snowdonia. Parking was right outside the property. I cannot fault this holiday cottage and will certainly visit again! Highly recommended.

We have stayed at Ty Hir for many years sometimes three times a year.

This cottage is well looked after beautifully clean and comfortable and peaceful, the owners are always available for any problems. The views are incredible you can see the Menai and the mountains and the garden is secure if you have a dog. We love this cottage.

We were well impressed with the property and lovely garden with beautiful view of Snowdonia.

The owner Dr Parry was very kind and lent us a map as well as supplying some treats for our dogs upon arrival. We are looking forward to going there again next May.

Perfect for the dogs we stayed here with our friends next door and it was ideal with two German shepherd's each, large lawns front and back would come again

Lovely homely, cosy, cottage with fantastic views from the garden and very comfy beds.

The decor is somewhat cluttered but this is truly reflected in the images provided and probably added to the cosiness! The heating provided was perfect for our needs and the electric fires were wonderful for an immediate warm-up on returning back after a chilly evening walk.The kitchen is well stocked and perfectly adequate. The owner called in just to check all was well, was very friendly and keen to help in any way if needed.The cottage is in a wonderful setting with lots of walks on your doorstep.All in all a great place to stay.

The cottage was very warm, cosy and welcoming and we appreciated the provision of milk tea coffee and Welsh cakes. It was very kind also of Iwan to drop by to make sure everything was ok. The kitchen was very well supplied with all we needed and more besides. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in in any holiday cottage. The garden was perfect, safe and secure for our dog and a wonderful place to relax with spectacular views over Snowdonia. I would happily return to Ty Hir, it is a very comfortable and charming home from home which, in my view, makes it so much more than a holiday cottage. Pam, Keith and Bella

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in a beautiful corner of Anglesey.

The cottage was very cosy and it was especially a joy to sit on the bench seat outside the front window looking over to the Snowdonia mountains relaxing and listening to all the different birdsong. The quiet serenity of Ty Hir was very uplifting and it was so nice to chat to Ruth(the owner) who was very welcoming and helpful. We certainly would like to book another holiday here next year (DV). A wonderful cottage!

When I arrived at Ty Hir, the temperature both outside and indoors was chilly.

Although the heating had been on all day, the cottage wasn't very warm. The owner, Ruth, told me to turn the heating to "continuous" if necessary. Even so, I would say it took 24 hours for the whole cottage to be comfortably warm. Ruth had kindly left me a bottle of wine, chocolates, biscuits and Welsh cakes as Christmas treats, along with biscuits for my dog. In general, the cottage was clean, but items such as ornaments, artificial and dried flowers couldn't possibly be cleaned between every booking, and showed signs of dust. The kitchen was quite well-equipped, but some drawers weren't properly clean, and I had to move things to make space for food. A nice set of matching mugs would have made a difference. The bedroom drawers were lined with paper, which could have done with replacing. I chose to sleep in one of the single beds in the large bedroom in preference to the double bed in the smaller bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, though I personally needed to use two duvets to be warm. Bath sheets would have been nicer than the bath towels. The radio worked, but I couldn't get the CD player to function. Ty Hir had a fantastic view of Snowdonia, and I imagine it would be lovely to sit in the garden during summer months. My dog enjoyed the enclosed garden. I had great difficulty using the key safe, which is something I have commented on after staying at another cottage. Perhaps Sykes could research a safe which is easier to use by those of us with reduced manual dexterity. I spent a very enjoyable Christmas at Ty Hir and would recommend this cottage.

On arrival at our property the owner Ruth greeted us and she is a lovely person and couldn't be more helpful.

We had a very restful, peaceful holiday break. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very cosy with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Our dog loved it too - he was so relaxed there. Everything you need is available for you. Mr. & Mrs. Thompson

We really enjoyed our stay at Ty Hir.

After two days I looked to see if the cottage was available for our anniversary in April, but sadly it's booked. Some visitors have said that the cottage is old fashioned. That suits us fine as we are too. Ty Hir has a lovely view, is very peaceful without being remote, it's well heated, the beds and furniture are comfortable, and importantly, the cottage was clean. The garden was well looked after and good for our little dog. We were amazed at the night sky. Well done to Ruth and those who take care of TY Hir. Paul, Julie and Poppy (Worksop)

Bit dated inside,but that is obvious from the photographs you provide,but maybe that is part of its charm.

The location and views are outstanding. Both the cottage and gardens are immaculately maintained and the owners go beyond the extra mile to make guests including the dogs feel welcome, have already rebooked for next year.

The cottage was extremely comfortable and clean.

The location and particularly the views were excellent. The huge garden was great for the dog and there is plenty of nearby walking. The decor is very dated, and whilst this doesn't detract from the comfort of the cottage some may not find the style appealing. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, but could really do with updating (wonky pan handles, very old spatulas etc). Worth noting too that things like the TV and stereo are not digital, and there is no dishwasher. The wifi was reliable. We will return as what was important was excellent, comfy beds and sofas and a great location, but can see that others expecting a more 'modern' level of decor and finish could be dissapointed.

Wonderfully peaceful.

Unfortunately our holiday was cut short by 'the lock down' and the weather was very mixed plus the water board were carrying out work.

These factors certainly affected our enjoyment but were of course completely out of anyone's control . The cottage was very cosy ,warm and clean, and well equipped . The owner , Ruth, couldn't have been kinder.The garden was dog proof and there were plenty of dog walks . We will definitely return ,when we get back to normality. Anna ,Eirlys Moses and Florence.

Cottage was comfortable.

Good secure garden for the dog. The beds were very comfortable and clearly a lot of work had gone on to make the place virus free. We had to ask for local maps which were provided. Owner took care of us personally which was good. Near to the sea which we loved. The only negative was outside of anyone’s control - road works meant we had to do a long detour through narrow lanes to get away from the cottage. We got used to it by the end of the week. We are already planning a return visit to the cottage next year.

Ty Hir was one of the best holiday cottages we have ever been to with 'Sykes holidays'.

Beautiful location and a spacious cottage with excellent facilities (we usually take sherry glasses with us as no cottages have had them --but Ty Hir had plenty!!!). I could wax lyrical even further about Ty Hir but reluctant to do so as we would like to go there again and hope it does not become too popular and is not available for us.

The cottage was perfect .

The hosts fulfilled all our requirements and Ruth went out of her way to speak to us and ask if we needed anything . Even bringing a large bag of books as we had forgot any reading material . The cottage was spotless ,the beds extremely comfortable and the gardens beautifully maintained . Access to the garden sheds which had a bbq and extra chairs and cleaning products was a bonus. The vistas from the front garden were incredible, with both the mountains and Menai straights visible . It was so quiet with the nearest roads over 400 metres away . Our 2 dogs were so content and enjoyed the 20 minute walk down to the pebbled beach which was usually empty . Plenty of shops in Beaumaris made it easy to stock up on essentials as it was a mere 5 minute drive away . All in all we couldn't ask for more and will be looking to book again in the future .

Ty Hir is a lovely little cottage, which feels like home.

It's ideally located for visiting other places in Anglesey and for going further afield into the Llyn Peninsula such as Caernarfon or Pwllheli or just into Bangor. The views from the cottage are beautiful. The Menai Straits and the Snowdonian mountain range are there to see in their full glory and makes getting up in the morning an absolute joy. The peace and the quiet are unbelievable and taking the dogs for a walk in the late evening was fabulous because of the stars which filled the night sky. It took my breath away. The cottage has all the facilities that you need whilst away. I never wanted for anything. Ruth, the owner, is lovely and and friendly. I absolutely love Ty Hir and cannot wait to visit again later this year..

A really cosy comfortable cottage in a very quiet location , had everything we needed !

Ruth the owner wa extremely helpful when we couldn't get the very important wi.fi.for our daughter ! We will certainly stay here again ,

This time we stayed for 2 weeks it felt lovely not to have to go home on the Saturday and to have a full weekend.

We were lucky with the weather which enabled us to spend more time on the beaches which are so clean. The cottage is marvellous for our dog with its enclosed garden, so safe. We love Anglesey every body is friendly. A most enjoyable time. Thank you.

Superb cottage with wonderful views of the Snowdonia Range and Menai Strait.

Ruth was a very friendly host and made us feel most welcome. A short walk to the local shop that seemed to sell just about everything and ordered things they didn't have without any problems. Overall a most pleasant and relaxing time.

Always a warm welcome.

Warm and comfortable in all the rooms. Enclosed garden which is ideal for our dog. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. It is the only cottage we would have when we stay on Anglesey.

Fantastic location and perfect for dog walking.

The main selling point was the amazing location with staggering views over the menai straits to Snowdonia.

The cottage was a little dated but having said that it added to it's appeal.we had an amazing week and the cottage was comfy and welcoming after long walks over some amazing beaches.

I have stayed in this cottage before and it provides everything my party required.

We love this cottage as it is always warm and welcoming.

It is also ideal for our dog with its enclosed gardens at front and back.The views are spectacular and it is so peaceful. It is a wonderful, comfortable cottage and our next visit is about our 14th.

It was perfect!

The cottage was spotless throughout. It was warm and cosy. It had all the facilities needed e.g. washing machine, and cooking utensils etc. The bed was so comfortable I slept right through the night! The local shop and post office are only a short walk away. The views are wonderful and the peace and quiet most welcome. The location is fabulous for exploring this beautiful country. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ty Hir.

It was very comfortable with everything we needed.

2 living rooms was great a quiet room and a tv room! Fridge freezer great asset and washing machine. A fully enclosed and dachshund proof garden a great help and lovely views. Also nice to have contact with the owner.
