  • "This property had everything you need to feel at home."

One the better properties I have stayed at. The sofa is very low in the lounge, the beds are super comfortable, the layout of the place is very well designed. Pets owners, the garden is not fully enclosed, if your pet is determined it can get out at the bottom of the garden, like mine did, luckily after 45 mins we got our pet back as she took to the farmers field. This will not stop me booking again, and maybe the owner could take a look to secure this weak spot. Anglesey great place stay, accessible to great places to visit.

Thanks for your great feedback and the heads up re the dog escape, we will address this! Property Owner

  • "The second time we've stayed in Mynydd Parys and every bit as lovely!"

The property is in a great location on the south coast. It is well-equipped, cosy and clean - the perfect home from home! The beds are wonderfully comfy which we especially appreciated as we were walking sections of the coastal path on this trip to the island. We love how quiet the small complex is; the views surrounding the cottage are idyllic and the large field backing onto the private garden is lovely to look out onto. We feel as though we've really found a hidden gem with this property. Our third trip is already booked for July but it won't be our last! Thank you for another lovely stay :)

Thanks for your lovely feedback, we look forward to welcoming you back again in July. Property Owner

The thought and consideration showed by the owners was impeccable. All the little ‘extras’ were thought about (thermal cups, picnic bag etc!) We will def recommend to all our friends and family…and be back! Fantastic communication too, which completely put us at ease. We can’t thank the owners enough.

Thank you for your kind words, we aim to make the cottage feel like home from home and are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was exactly as advertised and very well presented."

The pre arrival Email from the owners was a nice touch and gave clear and concise instructions. Due to COVID restrictions the documentation you would expect to be in the property had been removed, but the information was included in the email. The cottage was very clean on arrival and was equipped with everything you need, with one exception. As it rained whilst we were there and our dog came in from the garden with wet paws, a mop would have been good to dry the kitchen floor. This is a very minor point and the only negative observation I made. We would love to, and will hopefully, book this cottage again.

... just 6 properties along their own private drive. Mynydd Parys is a real “home from home” with comfortable furniture and an excellent kitchen/diner with all utensils & amenities you could ever need. The garden is secluded and very dog friendly .... our 2 dogs had a fab time there too. The owners were very attentive and professional with their welcoming emails and we definitely look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Anglesey. This is an ideal base from which to explore the island and such a wonderful home to return back to at the end of a busy day.

  • "When we arrived at the property there was no heating on, someone had switched it off so we had to wait for a response from Sykes Cottages to sort it out as it wasn't straightforward how to switch it on due to the oil boiler."

The name mentioned as the first contact point said she knew nothing about the heating and we had to phone a different number, which wasn't easy as the signal was quite poor. Finally we got this sorted and we could start to relax. When we started to cook our evening meal, we found that the oven was so filthy you would not want to use it. We are keen cooks and we chose this property because it looked so well equipped and a lovely kitchen to cook in. This was a real disappointment, however Sykes Cottages did send someone out the next day to clean it but merely gave it a wipe out which we could have done ourselves. What it really needed was a professional clean with oven cleaner. Then, when finally unpacking, we found a tube of rectal cream with opened applicator in the bathroom cupboard. I'm sure you can imagine how this made us feel. So all in all, our stay there was not as expected at all and we did feel really disappointed. On a plus note, the cottage is very cosy and comfortable, the views are spectacular, especially when the cows came into the back field. But for the reasons mentioned above we would not stay in this property. I can also add that the cleanliness of the bathrooms could be better, as could the quality of the towels. If you are really keen on booking the place, it would be worth a phone call beforehand to check that these issues have been resolved.

Mrs Dennis, we are extremely sorry that you were disappointed with some aspects of your stay. Unfortunately, the controls on the boiler had been changed. However, following a quick call on the day of your arrival we were able to resolve and get the heating back on. Thanks to your comments we will include additional instructions to the handbook to avoid this occurring in the future. Obviously, the standard of cleaning was not good enough on this occasion for which we sincerely apologise. We are disappointed that you had to experience these problems and thank you for bringing these to our attention. We have put further measures in place to rectify such issues. Property Owner

The welcome items including bread, milk, apple juice, and cleaning items, and cupboards with tea and coffee, all helped us feel welcomed and cosy. The owners/company have thought of everything, even clean towels to dry the dog! The gardens are lovely with outdoor seating and private car parking areas for each cottage. We were kept informed online of what we had paid and details before our holiday, then easy clear instructions for key collection and map when our holiday was due. We had a lovely time and highly recommend this cottage and area. We hope to come back in the future.
