  • "It was a nice cosy cottage."

The bedroom was a little on the small side and there was no wardrobe but we accommodated that. It was nice and peaceful and only 5 minutes walk to the Bay and we did enjoy our stay.

  • "The shape of the bedroom is somewhat quirky as it is in the roof."

This means the person sleeping in the double bed next to the wall / window has reduced access, and needs to be careful not to hit their head on the sloping ceiling.

  • "Loved the cottage the only thing was the cleaning wr found lots of dust underneath the bed on the floor at the bottom of the headboard, we had to clean the pots and we had to clean the oven once we sused how to use it we googled the make for instructions the dishwasher didn't dry the pots I don't know whether the heater works on it."

Apart from that we had a lovely week thankyou for the fizz and cake and milk.

  • "I needed a nearby stay whilst my property purchase in Holyhead neared completion, this was my third Sykes Cottages stay on the island."

Overall, really pleased with this property. Just the right size for me, everything I needed for a solo 9-day stay. My only negatives would be: oddly, only 1 wine glass in the cupboard (can't help to think if a couple stayed); the freezer part of the fridge hasn't been defrosted in a year or more, it is compacted ice, so I couldn't use it; as mentioned by previous reviews, the walls are thin, for 3/4 days mid-stay the cottage to the rear (No.7) had some pretty noisy people in moving furniture & dragging boxes around, every drawer opened and closed resonates into No.6. On the estate, I was a little perturbed by a knock on the door late one afternoon, a man peering through the window at me... on opening the door he asked to 'test the smoke detector'. He had no ID when asked. I then noticed that he simply let himself into the next properties he wanted to check... what if I'd have been upstairs in the shower or bed, would he have just let himself in ? One of the comfiest beds I've encountered... I'd certainly stay again.

  • "The cottage is lovely with lots of parking and in a good area gor exploring Anglesey and Snowdonia ."

A folder of instructions for the heating etc would be helpful as with the weather it was quite cold at times. Pillow protectors are always a good idea and were missing. The bed is very soft and the bathroom would not suit taller or larger people but we had a nice stay

  • "Lovely welcome, everything clean and tidy."

The milk, wine and bara brith was a real surprise and perfect. Position and parking perfect, we were very happy with the site and walks. Our only problem was we picked the small cottage so didn’t have a lot of space ; we will definitely choose a larger cottage next time we come.

  • "Although we have stayed in this cottage complex before we were surprised at how small this particular cottage was compared to the others."

It isn't that obvious from the photos and as all the cottages are kitted out the same you wouldn't expect the space to be so small. It's ok for a weekend though. I would check the photos and description more carefully next time. Also they forgot to leave towels on this stay which is unlike them.
