It was super as usual.

Very warm welcome from Jane.

Property has everything you need. Nice walk along to shops and plenty of places for food and drink. Walk to Largs Marina well worth it Courtyard Cafe/Bistro excellent. Good food and friendly staff. Vikingar Cafe worth a visit. Strawberry tarts to die for. Would return to this flat if visiting Largs again.

Fantastic flat to enjoy Scotland’s glorious West Coast.

The flat is situated right on the seafront, plenty of free parking on the road outside, easy walk into Largs town, train station, ferry to Cumbrae and Morrisons supermarket. Very comfortable beds and sofas, flat and kitchen well equipped and clean. Great welcome from Jane who is very understanding about predicting arrival time from afar! Would definitely stay at Cumbrae View again, there’s heaps to do in the area, which we’ve been visiting for 30 years.

(6 years on ) .Very convenient location and very well- equipped apartment . It was particularly nice to be welcomed in person by Jane from Helping Hands, who even helped carry in our luggage

Premises within walking distance of town.

Large and very comfortable bed. Appliances worked fitfully. En suite shower had to be used with care. Taped off trip hazard in kitchen and floor uneven. Parking limited and unmonitored/insufficient for residents, service vehicles, carers etc. There can be privacy issues with the ground floor apartment - as it is alongside the entrance/walkway to all the three apartment blocks. Three days after our departure the owner emailed us asking for possible explanations for scratches on the hallway floor. As we took great care to look after the property, we were hurt and annoyed by this apparent accusation.

Cumbrae View is an ideal ground floor flat with easy access to the town via a 5 - 10 min walk.

However it is now a little dated and requires a little TLC to bring it up to standard, Eg. the railing on the balcony is badly corroded. Jane was most helpful in every way during our stay. The main problem is the parking. It is stated that there is plenty of parking out on the street, however we found this not to be the case as it is all taken up by day trippers. Woe-behold anyone who brings a second car and parks it in the complex as it will very quickly be noticed and brought to your attention. At the rear of the complex is around 40 garages with ample space to park and turn around so I do not know what all the fuss is about. Perhaps the residents do not like to enter the flats via the back door!

A well furnished and equipped apartment.

Well situated with partial sea view, about 15 minutes walk from town centre. Comfortable, but a major problem if, like us, you like a bath. Hot water tank only supplies about i inch of water in bottom of bath! This should be advised to prospective guests. Also, oven operation wsa a bit tricky, but fifth-generation photocopied instructions were mostly illegible.

We were welcomed by Jane which is a nice touch & saved us a space in the car park as it is on first come takes the space.

We had no problem with this. The apartment is in lovely place with the beach & park area at the bottom of the car park. There is also a ferry crossing to Isle of Combrae in Largs, & few miles away a ferry to Isle of Bute, both worth a visit. We had lovely weather which is a bonus. This is a beautiful part of Scotland.

A super place to stay!

Jane was so helpful and welcoming even though we were late due to the traffic in Glasgow. The apartment was home form home with everything you could think of and so thoughtful too. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We'd love to come back again. As we brought our road bikes it was ideal as we put them in the long lobby. Lots of fantastic places to explore on the bikes, especially Great Cumbrae via the ferry.

Cumbrae view was lovely and comfortable with everything we needed.

Being a ground floor apartment it was perfect as we had my 89 year old mum with us. We had a couple of issues (cupboard door hinge loose and screw coming up through the flooring in the kitchen which could have caused a problem with someone catching it in their bare feet) but contacted Jane who came out the same day and sorted temporary fixes until she could get someone in to sort the flooring. Beds lovely and comfortable, kitchen well equipped, sofas comfy and the balcony an absolute delight as it had the sun on it until about 4pm - it helped that we were blessed with 7 days of sunshine (in early April). There are limited parking spaces outside the apartments but this wasn’t an issue as, if all the spaces are taken, there is easy, unrestricted parking on the road. Would definitely recommend the property.

Another fantastic stay at Cumbrae View!

We were again very lucky with the weather and managed to get out for a walk along the shore every day. Took the train to Glasgow and went to the Kelvin Grove Gallery - well worth a visit. The apartment was as clean and comfortable as ever. Brilliant location for walking into Largs and along the coast. A big thank you to Jane as always. We hope to be back in the summer to visit relatives again .

This property is amazing, everything about it was cosy, and comfortable, with easy access to the shops, restaurants and cafes.

Jane was very helpful and showed us around, the apartment was lovely only downside was the car park it should have numbers in the bays so you know which one yours is and patio door was sticking, but we will come back it was like home from home and everyone you meet in the block was friendly

Another fantastic stay for us. Great weather was a bonus! Also loved a trip on the Waverley around Bute. Apartment is great - everything you need for a lovely stay in Largs. Quiet but just a few minutes walk into town. Thanks as always to Jane who is always so helpful. We plan to be back in February.

A splendid property and location.

The apartment is very well equipped and maintained and the bed is worthy of mention as it is very comfortable. Jane, who met us and promptly answered any queries which we had during the week, is lovely and the owners are very lucky to have her. Perhaps our age will probably mean that we won't undertake such a long journey in future but, if we do, we wouldn't dream of booking anywhere else. Many thanks. Bill&Ann Collin

We have been to a lot of holiday cottages but this is the best equipped one we have been to. It had everything we could possibly have needed. Lovely and warm, comfortable and very peaceful. This was our second visit to Cumbrae View and we are pleased to say we were not disappointed.

If you want peace and quiet, in a stylishly comfortable, thoughtfully equipped ground floor flat in the lovely seaside town of Largs, this is for you! Thanks go to Jane and all the team involved in making our stay so enjoyable

Cutlery drawer and items filthy Cupboard under sink filthy, plus empty bottles, soap powder box and dirty cloths left scattered underneath Oven dirty and greasy Toilet brushes filthy one left with feces on Bath mat dirty, mouldy all over Windows dirty Patio unkept, we had to wed between cracks, dead plant pots, artificial balls left on floor (couldn’t be hung as chains were rusty and broken There is no view from patio to estuary, view is the car park Noise from workmen (we were informed less than 24 hours before going, I asked for a refund, the owners said it would up to Sykes, couldn’t get through so we felt we had to go or lose our money, we were told they should be finished the day after we arrived, they were still there after we left, constant noise from drills and scaffolding erected outside patio, felt intrusivel and didn’t want to sit outside on it) Sykes later said it was up to owners.

When we complained owners response was sorry about inconvenience and mess you found but hope you enjoyed largs and the surrounding area. Asked for refund or at least 50 percent. They eventually repaid 125 (no refund really considering we’d had enough and left the day before we were due to come home) Bad response from owners, but why would they care they live abroad. Have photos and emails to back up statement made. Would love to post them. At least hopefully the holidaymakers due in after us would not have to find what we did and company and owners cleaned up,their act. By the way the company they pay to clean only have an hour and half spot. That’s not long enough to do a thorough clean (they’re comment) not mine

Flat itself was ideal.

Couldn’t fault cleanliness and well equipped. However the one big thing that let it down was temperature of hot water which resulted in guest scalding hand so badly that it has so far resulted in a 2 night hospital stay. Jane was informed of this who told me that plumbing had recently been checked and did offer to pick us up from hospital in Greenock, also further messages to check on guest. I feel that there should be signs up warning of possible high temperature coming from taps. Jane an absolute gem to the owners. Great communication and local knowledge.

It was great to meet Jane on arrival and good to know she was available if needed. This was our first time in Largs, we thoroughly enjoyed it and fully intend to return to your lovely property.

This is our 3rd visit to cumbrae view, always great, everything is supplied for comfort and more, beautiful, immaculate property down to thoughtfulness and care of the owner thinking of all our needs, would highly recommend and thanks to Jane kind and professional as always nothing too much trouble for her.

This was a fabulous flat , very comfortable, clean and cosy Centrally positioned with easy access to the town etc and for walks along the prom.

It had everything we needed and more. I have no hesitation in recommending it and we look forward to staying there again

Cumbrae view was a marvelous find, excellent location, very clean and everything you could wish for.

Would recommend it to anyone. Short walk from Largs centre. Jane was so helpful and friendly when she showed us round. There were a couple of hiccups we did a load in the washer but couldn't get the tumble dryer programme to work. Also car parking was hit and miss, it being a very small car park. On the Thursday we all went out in our daughters car for the first time it had moved that week and noticed a dent in the drivers side wheel arch. It had got to have happened on the car park. She had parked in the last bay on the right-hand side. On our last day we noticed another car belonging to a nurse visiting flats also had a dent in exactly the same place. If you can avoid that parking bay. Having said all that we would go back there in future

Great location for the Ayreshire coast and the Firth of Clyde islands.

The apartment was easy to find and access. It had everything we needed, was comfortable and quiet. There is no 'allocated' off-road parking but we always managed to find a space and there is also plenty of free parking on the road outside.

Lovely apartment to come back to after exploring Largs and the surrounding area.

Great to be able to walk into town and to the railway station. Everyone in the block was friendly and helpful . Jane was fab! Lots of eating out recommendations and there if you needed her. Would definitely recommend.

Cannot fault it. Very homely and spotlessly clean. Has everything you need and more. Location excellent, nice and quiet yet near all amenities. (Must mention the fantastic Jane :) )

Just one small problem with the ensuite shower which had very low water pressure and fluctuated between very hot and very cold water. May need servicing. But otherwise we really liked the apartment.

Flat lovely and modern, very clean, all you could wish for.

One of the nicest, if not the nicest, holiday properties we have rented and we have been renting for many years.

I would be hard pushed to find any faults with it. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Largs is a lovely little seaside town, very friendly, with lots of nice restaurants. The ferries across to the little island of Cumbrae are the icing on the cake. So as you may guess from the above, we really enjoyed our break and can't wait to return.

It’s extremely quiet at night despite being so close to the town centre and seafront.

It was warm weather when we visited and we had windows open at night. Despite this, it was lovely and quiet. Appreciated the small balcony for eating outside.

Nice bright interior comfortable . A short walk from centre of Largs lots of places to eat out and of course ice cream from Nardini's . Handy location for touring I think we will probably be back at some time.

Appartment was everything we expected, but unfortunately due to the COVID regulations it was in a lockdown area and we were very limited in what was available to do.

We wanted to cancel but Sykes were not willing to refund us because of no travel restrictions, we were going with my brother and his wife and sharing the cost but regulations stated only one household was allowed and Sykes would not refund us so we had to go bearing all the cost alone ( please Sykes take a look at your policies). Nevertheless it was a lovely appartment and under different circumstances would go back again.

Perfect holiday accommodation close to all amenities.

Stylish, spacious, comfortable, generously equipped and very clean! Were visiting family after long months of lock down. We do hope to make a return visit.

Yes we thought with the photographs the balcony view looked straight out to sea, as it looks like the flat is on the front of the building not the side of the building.

Also their is not enough parking as it is first come first served.

Superb holiday home.

We found the apartment to be modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. It has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Location was great, in a quiet area but very close to the town, marina and promenade. Had a wonderful stay here; will definitely book again 5*. (Also Jane who met us on arrival was not only a lovely, friendly person but fully explained everything to us).

We had a wonderful stay in Castlebay Court.

The decor is modern and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches, making it one of the best equipped holiday lets we have stayed in. The views across to Cumbrae are fabulous and the location is perfect for both the town and the marina.

Apartment was so central to lots of places , whether going by car or walking, lots of lovely walks.

Near the town center of largs. Many places to eat and shops to enjoy. The apartment is in superb order, recently refurbished and all inside was new. although there are many flats in Castle Bay Court it was very quiet. Balcony makes a big difference to sit on a sunny day. Jane who met us to give us keys and show us around was a lovely person who we could contact if we needed to , which we had no need to. I will return to this apartment in the future. A really pleasant stay. Many ferries to take you across to Millport, Rothesay, Arran, Dunoon nearby.

ideal base to visit cumbrea and arran.

We were very impressed by the standard of this apartment, and we had a lovely week's holiday.

We enjoyed visits to the marvellous Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in Glasgow, travelling by train and subway ( very easy!) , and to the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine; we also toured by car around Lochs Lomond, Fyne,and Eck, returning by ferry from Dublin to Gourock, seeing some magnificent scenery along the way. We also spent a day on Great Cumbrae , and I loved the island so much I went back for a second visit, exploring as much as I could on foot. It's a peaceful and unspoilt lace, great for cycling and bird watching, and only 10- 15 minutes away by ferry.

The appartment was very spacious, very well equipped and very comfortable.

It is in a great position, with a view of the sea. It is a short walk into town along the sea front which has stunning views of Cumbrae and the hills of Arran beyond. Would definitely recommend.

Although we had no problems, parking was not designated and I wonder if in high season that might be a problem?

My husband being disabled , I would never book a cottage without designated parking. This was one of the most comfortable and well equipped holiday lets we have had from Sykes.
