Pebble Nook

This is the dirtiest and most badly maintained property we have ever stayed in with Sykes.

The pictures of the property did not represent what we found on arrival, the property was dirty inside, also very much in need of a decorator, the decking outside was disgusting and filthy, patio furniture shocking, inside the house was dirty and not up to standard, the remote for the television was selotaped up and would not work without shaking it, the television unit was thick with dust and underneath where hub stood, crumbs on top of toaster from previous guests, dirty skirting boards, in the bathroom the shower was uncontrollably hot to a dangerous level, no blind in bathroom, only a see through screen ,so reluctant to put lights on when using toilet, the bed in twin bedroom ,the lats collapsed, information in the house unclear about bin recycling, bin was full when we arrived so hadn’t been emptied, nothing about bottle and glass so had to ask neighbors what to do with them, only to be told to take them to Morrisons glass recycle, so as you can see , the house did not come up to standard and certainly would not return.

This is our 4th consecutive year to stay a week at this property and everything has been perfect for us.

From start to finish this was the perfect winter cottage break.

Everything we needed was there. Beautifully prepared, and situated. The cover photo does not do it justice, you must scroll through to see its setting. Perfectly positioned for skiing, walking, or simply chilling. Huge thanks to Rachel and Rob for outstanding accommodation and thoughtfulness.

Fantastic accommodation with everything needed.

Warm and cozy on the edge of large sea loch. Central for exploring and relatively easy access. Hosts were supportive and lovely touch of bottle of wine and chocolate waiting on arrival. Communication was clear and comprehensive. It's very quiet and peaceful making it a restful and relaxing stay. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Pebble Nook.

Everything was clean and fresh on arrival and very welcoming too. The cottage is in a beautiful position, within a minutes walk to the shore of the Loch. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again. Perfect! Thank you so much!

I can only describe this as a perfectly appointed spotlessly clean cottage.

It felt warm and welcoming and the location was perfect for us. Pebble nook was on edge of a small estate and was almost "end of the road" with only a dozen neighbours most of whom were residents. There was next to no passing traffic and we were able to walk our dog off lead for the one minute walk to the beach. Also handy for swimming. There was a slightly sheltered spot without heading up to the main bay in Onich. Every day we were greeted by rabbits. Would we return? We don't tend to visit a location more than once and I can count on one hand how often I would revisit, but this one is definitely on the list.

Comfortable, well equipped, beautiful location.

We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing stay with great weather and fabulous views. Well located for Fort William and accessing Glen Nevis. Just one thing - the patio doors could do with an outside clean, looks like they've had some rainfall on them. Overall would definitely recommend and would stay again if visiting the area

We liked our stay, the house and its equipment is super.

It was clean and cosy. The only thing I would like add to is, the doors and frames of the doors should be cleaned now and again. There were brownish marks and drops on it, especially the bathroom door. Other than that it was very clean! Just to inform you to have an eye on this (perhaps because there are dogs allowed

Another fabulous stay in Pebble Nook, the property is superb, the location is amazing and this year we had blue skies and sunshine for a fortnight.

It was even warm enough to encourage me to swim in the loch with the dog. Thank you to the owner for being so responsive with bits and pieces whilst we stayed.

This is our 2nd visit to Pebble Nook. The property is excellent and extremely comfortable. Very clean and plenty of equipment, short of nothing. A true home from home. Thank you for the welcome wine and chocolate. Also the Highland soap Co. products around the home are amazing, I've actually bought some. Thanks for a great stay.

Pebble Nook is a lovely clean and comfortable home from home very quiet with plenty of wildlife and with a beach 100 yards from your doorstep.

Pebble Nook was cosy, comfortable and very clean.

Location was amazing. Quiet and away from the main road; picturesque but well connected. We had a lovely time and will definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic place to stay, with lovely loch views.

This is in an ideal central positions for visiting the surrounding area, We went to Oban, Fort William, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness and of course Glen Coe which is only a short drive away. The cottage is well maintained and very cosy with comfortable beds. Only one negative was that it could do with a much thicker blind in the bathroom window, as it's quite see through with a clear glass window. If the chance comes up we would definitely return with no hesitation......and probably will

This is my fourth stay at Pebble Nook… we’ve even spent Christmas here.

This time we stayed for two weeks… one wasn’t enough. The cottage is warm, welcoming and comfortable, and the owners are approachable and friendly (if needed). Unlike many holiday cottages the parking area is generous and easy to access. Unloading and loading the car is hassle free. For me the location is perfect. The cottage is in a quiet and pretty area, just off the main route to just about everywhere. It sits seconds from the beach. To the north The Highlands are extremely accessible, as is the beautiful Argyll coast to the south. There are dog walks aplenty and miles to explore. We keep finding new, beautiful places to visit, as well as little gems such as “Stiff Peaks” patisserie in Ballachulish, and The Nomad Caravan Cafe (owned by the lovely Tina), just across the water via the Corran Ferry. There’s an added bonus of an M&S Foodhall just a few miles up the road in Fort William. What else do you need? I’m now in the process of working out when I can go back…

I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is in a great location for exploring the area. It is a very comfortable cottage with everything you need for the perfect stay. It was very clean and welcoming. Will visit again

Really lovely accommodation, nice decor and bedding.

Beds were comfy. Fantastic beach and views a minutes walk away. Enclosed field opposite great to walk our greyhound. Highly recommend a stay.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage.

Drumherum gibt es viel zu entdecken. Eine wunderschöne Landschaft. Im Ferienhaus hat es an nichts gefehlt. Für uns waren nur die Matratzen im Zweibettzimmer unbequem, da sie bereits sehr durchgelegen waren. Ansonsten alles top.

We had a perfect stay, we loved it.

The photos of the outside are VERY misleading and need to be upgraded they must be from years ago because there is no way to see the loch from garden because of all the trees and bushes, also there was food left in cupboards and freezer from previous occupants

Absolutely idyllic location.

Cannot fault this property at all. Fabulous views and great access to the beach. Absolutely stunning location. Great first visit to Scotland for me and would love to visit again.

This is an absolutely beautiful cottage to stay its location is just breath taking its right on a loch.

Myself and my husband are into hiking/climbing mountains so this was a great location for that too as everywhere we needed to go was all within 25 minutes drive. The cottage had everything we needed and more it was just stunning the owners even left a lovely bar of chocolate and a bottle of wine for us for when we arrived so this I thought was wonderful too. We are definitely going back to Scotland so will be booking Pebble Nook again that’s for sure.

Really lovely second visit here, shame noone is now feeding the squirrels but we did see gannet and a sea eagle on the loch so not all bad.

The house is properly comfortable and the dog was fascinated by the local rabbit population!!

This is our second holiday at Pebble Neuk and it was just as fabulous as last time.

This time arriving in the cold, the house was toasty for our arrival. It really is such a comfortable home while beautifully decorated.

Truly home from home .

. It didn’t seem like a holiday house - it seemed like home. Warm, comfortable, everything provided - even lovely throws to snuggle into after a day on the hill. We were visiting the area to visit friends - having lived in FW for 20 years before having to move south again, and it was just THE most perfect place. On arrival I found a bottle of wine on the table! That was a surprise - and after a very long journey (from an island off the south coast of England) very welcome indeed! It was only reading the visitors book I saw people had loved the wine ‘and chocolates’ we had no chocolates! Didn’t bother me - I had wine -my husband doesn’t drink -but he eats chocolate!! He was soo miffed

The cottage was perfect.

Great facilities, clean and cosy and warm. It’s a great base for touring the area and great value. Thoroughly recommended

It’s a fabulous house with stunning views! Really felt like home and had everything we needed (and more) to enjoy our stay. Even met the neighbours who were lovely and really welcoming and friendly! We will definitely be coming back and hopefully able to stay for longer next time!

Pebble Nook is the most amazing holiday home.

It's in the perfect location and has everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The location is just so relaxing and yet close enough to Fort William for activities and food. The hosts Rachel and Robert are really helpful.

Pebble Nook is very comfortable and well equipped making it a relaxing bolthole after any days activity.

The location is quiet and peaceful with the added delight of red squirrels easily visible in the gardens locally. Onich is well placed for visiting lots of Scotlands many scenic treasures. We are already considering booking again for next year.

It was lovely to have a proper home to stay in with lots of home touches.

The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The surrounding area was gorgeous and the cottage had lots of local information to help us explore. The dogs loved have the beach to potter on and the loch to swim in. We even met the neighbours who were very friendly and helpful.

The cottage was very good and had everything we needed.

Very comfortable and an ideal base for a week of mountaineering in the Glencoe and Nevis area. The very best thing about Pebble Nook was something not even mentioned in the blurb, the red squirrels in the back garden. It was fantastic to be able to sit there and watch those rare creatures through the patio doors.

We had a fantastic stay and the location was fantastic.

We were lucky enough to have great weather and so spent every day out exploring. The property was warm and had everything that We needed including gorgeous hand soaps etc which was a really nice touch. We couldn't believe how close we were to the water with spectacular views. The only critasm I would have is that the beds were a lot smaller than expected and were not that comfy.

A home away from home.

We had a fantastic week at Pebble Nook. The house provided us with everything we needed. The decor was lovely and a great spot for us to go and walk the mountains without having to travel too far to get to them. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely cottage with lots of little extra luxuries!

Good location 100m from the shore, red squirrels in the garden, Deer nearby and a giant sea eagle flying overhead! We are also very grateful that you made it possible for our whole family to spend time together following a recent bereavement.

We stayed here as we were secretly eloping to the three sisters, it was a perfect little place to stay.

So cosy and homely! All the little touches were amazing! We will definitely return again for another stay! Most perfect location. The only down side was the length of the grass, we couldn't enjoy the garden as the grass was too long.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Perfect for exploring the Glencoe/ Fort William area. Very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. Lovely touches (bottle of wine, Highland Soap Co soaps etc). The owners were very helpful when we had an incident at the cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful cottage with loch at bottom of drive where you can walk along the pebble beach or the path that runs just above.

The cottage was spotless and has all amenities such as washing machine, fridge, freezer etc. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful re places to visit and their bird feeders allowed us to watch some beautiful birds. The cottage is situated in a great area to allow you to visit lots of places with great scenery, history and walks. In my opinion you really need a car to get the full benefit of the area. We look forward to returning to Pebble Nook in the future.

A very cosy & warm would love to stay there again in a fantastic setting

The cottage is in a great location, comfortable and well equipped.

While I wouldn’t say it was dirty as such, I would challenge how thoroughly it had been cleaned. The internal bin had not been emptied from the previous visitors, there were spots of food on the floor under the table, the skirting boards had thick layers of dust and there were a pair of socks under a cushion on a footstool.

This was a fantastic base to return to after days out sightseeing in this spectacular part of the world.

The views from the house were gorgeous & it was so peaceful. Being able to walk our dog on the pebble beach was wonderful & we miss it already! We were so pleased we booked this property for our holiday & would recommend it to others. We travelled to Glencoe, Mallaig, Fort William, Isle of Mull, Morar & the white sandy beaches, Loch Ness & the Cairngorms to name but a few & returned to this warm & cosy house at the end of each day, where we could truly relax. Our only recommendation would be to ‘tweak’ the metal framed single beds as every time our teenage son turned over it creaked noisily. An Allen key may resolve this easily; It wasn’t a massive issue but it would have made his stay more comfortable & is probably a quick fix. Overall though Pebble Nook was a wonderful place to stay & we’re so glad we chose it. Many thanks for the wine on arrival & for sharing this super place!

We did not initially select this cottage/location, however, due to major issues with our original booked accommodation which we discovered on arrival - Rock Cottage at Port Appin, we were forced to make a very late change.

We were extremely pleased to be offered this alternative accommodation at Pebble Nook within a half hour of rejecting the Port Appin cottage. Pebble Nook is excellent; very clean and extremely well facilitated. Very near the beach but well insulated from the west of Scotland weather, and with an extremely well appointed central heating system. The owners were given less than an hour to prepare for our arrival, and I was most impressed that not only was the house warm and ready for us, but they even laid on a very nice bottle of wine which made the welcome even more special. It is in a quiet and secluded area but with very easy access to the main Fort William road. There are terrific views from the beach and the area is surrounded by lochs and mountains with a great variety of wild life. A big thanks also to Sykes who's staff pulled out the stops in getting us alternative accommodation at such short notice. This is the first time we have used Sykes, and the support and assistance they provided to us was above and beyond what I have experienced from other rental agencies. I will definitely be using Sykes for future holiday cottage bookings.

This was our third time with Sykes Cottages and every time we were very impressed with the properties.

They are exactly as described in the brochure and are extremely well presented properties. We are really pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the properties and would highly recommend your site. Thank you for making our New Year in Scotland such an enjoyable and relaxing one. Fabulous location, peaceful and beautiful views.

Highly recommend if you enjoy walking. Plenty to see and do within a 20 mile radius. Will be booking same again next year.

It was quiet, peaceful with nice view of the loch. The weather during our stay was not the best and it was lovely coming back to a comfortable warm cottage. The accommodation providers had thought of everything and provided all that you could need to make your holiday great. Would love to return again.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.

Pebble Nook is tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is well placed for The Mull Ferry and for the road to Fort William and Oban. Lots to see and do. Even watching the rabbits playing in the garden was a pleasure.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pebble Nook.

Onich is a very scenic location and Pebble Nook has wonderful views of Loch Linnhe. The property was very clean and well presented with all the facilities one could wish for. The owner provides very useful information within the property about places to visit and local pubs/restaurants. Better directions to the property certainly need to be provided because the provided directions were imprecise and inaccurate. But, this is a great property and highly recommended.

Difficult to find by post code and directions, I would suggest adding the post box on the junction as a marker Lovely setting Neighbours were great and so helpful with recomendations re places to walk, see, eat.

The house was brilliant everything we wanted. Outstanding situation and views they really could not be beaten.

This cottage really exceeded our expectations.

It was beautifully clean, cosy and homely. The owners have put a lot of thought into making guests comfortable. We loved our week at Pebble Nook despite the poor weather and would love to return for future holidays.

This was a beautiful cottage, although the 3rd room is more suitable for a child not an adult There was everything you could possible need plus extras!

! The views are stunning and everyone there was friendly Only draw back was there was no where close for a drink and meal within walking distance we pretty much had to drive and although the property was dog friendly there was no way of closing the garden off to the front and unfortunately to next doors garden to ha ha, our adventurous little pup loved it, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay just a little to far away from fort William for us :-)

Had a fantastic time with the family and dog enjoying the out doors.

Kids and dog loved playing in the loch only a stone through from the cottage. We took a train journey to Morar and the white sand beaches were stunning. The view from the cottage was amazing, it was so peaceful and relaxing. Would highly recommend this cottage.

This cottage had been finished to a high standard making your holiday feel very much like home from home.

From the coffee machine to games and dvds to entertain all ages. The views and location are wonderful even in the depths of winter. Just a note that the third bedroom is a kids size single bed. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the Glencoe area. We hope to return later in the year.
