"If you're looking for total peace and quiet on Kintyre, look no further than Hazel's Cottage."
Such a beautiful place. everything within you could ever wish for. We were happy to receive a welcome pack consisting of a variety of freshly made cakes, which were absolutely delicious. We would love to go back someday. The only downside of our week was the weather. Other than that total perfection. Would go as far as to say it's the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Perfect

"Fantastic hidden gem if you like to get away from the hustle and bustle like peace and quite and wonderful views and so quiet."
The cottage was also very nice and fresh and clean with added treats left out to welcome our arrival. Plenty of books DVD'S Netflix if the weather is bad which it was on a couple of our days. Scenery was fabulous from the top of the hill as were the walks to different beaches. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating and everything was as described. We had our boys collie dog with us so did plenty of walking which meant he was in his element. We went to every part of the area and toured all around the Kintyre peninsula wonderful scenery. Would certainly return again in the future. Thankyou for our stay in your lovely cottage

"For peace & tranquility this is the perfect place to rest your head."
Friendly welcome from the owner David upon arrival.
The decor is quite quirky but this adds to your enjoyment to your stay in this beautiful part of Scotland. Its a long drive down the Mull of Kintyre but well worth it. Reccomended days out, the drive to Mull of Kintyre lighthouse, the beach at Southend & Carradale. For a good selection of local cheeses visit "Made in Kintyre" in the centre of Cambeltown or "Glenbarr Stores & Garden centre" . Also check out the "Dark Sky". The cottage is the perfect place at the end of your day to enjoy the scrumptious homemade artisan cakes provided by your hosts. FIRST CLASS

"From main road there is a couple of mile on single track farm lane to propety."
Okay for us as we had a 4 wheel drive but there were several pot holes to avoid. Property was well presented and comfy. A beautiful view. Kitchen fully rigged out but could do with better meat/veg knifes as they bend when using. Dog friendly, but had to keep dog on lead as no fence to keep on this side of property which is adjoined to owners property who have cats. A lovely welcome pack. Cannot comment on owners as never saw them. Info to ring with approximate arrival time but no ne answered the calls. Would definitely go again, but only if a fence was put up to let our Yorkie roam the garden without a lead.

"Positives.
Well equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need
Large spacious bedrooms that were exceptionally clean and has lots of clothes storage
Bedding and towels were great quality
Comfortable sofas and large selection of books and games available as well as sky/Netflix tv
Good quality welcome pack."
Carton of milk and cakes are a very thoughtful touch.
Peaceful, quiet
Negatives:
Lighting and natural light into the property is poor and as someone who needs lots of natural light I found this a bit depressing.
Lots of mirrors in the property but none full length
Shower screen has mold around the folds and there is no grab rail. Could be dangerous for elderly guests trying to climb out of the bath.
King size bed creaked significantly which led to disturbed sleep
Signage to the cottage at the junction would be helpful as the directions provided were not particularly clear.
The living area is quite compact and small.
Overall we did not have a bad stay at the cottage as there are a number of positive aspects to it but having paid what we felt was a significant sum for a 4 day stay we unfortunately didn’t feel it was particularly good value for money.

"We had a fantastic week staying in this lovely, colourful cottage which felt like home-from-home."
The cottage was clean & tidy on arrival and tasty treats were awaiting our arrival. The cottage is set in such scenic surroundings and we were able to relax comfortably during our week. The cottage owners seem to have thought of everything with regards to making your stay the best as possible including maps & tourist info, cottage info, books to read provided along with many other useful items. We had a great week staying there and plan to come back again in the future as we loved it so much!

"Prior to arrival we were given very accurate arrival instructions."
On arrival we were able to access the cottage promptly and were welcomed with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, sweets and fabulous homemade cakes a pack each for the adults and separate one for our son. This was only the kitchen.
The kitchen and living room were beautifully presented, with local artwork on the walls and a bookcase full of books and games forall the family.
The bathroom had a welcome pack too with shampoo and shower gels and lovely fluffy towels.
Moving into the bedroom a fabulous super king sized bed, with a thick deep comfy mattress, plenty of storage, and plug points. As a welcome in the bedroom there was a decanter of sherry and some tunnocks teacakes, in our son's room there was just the teacake.
There was an information pack, loads of leaflets about things to see and do promoting the area.
The peace and quiet of being in the country, sitting eating breakfast outside in the sunshine with bird song and lambs bleeting in the fields was so calming.
We as a family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had we been there longer we would have definitely booked with our hosts as they have a tearoom for afternoon tea.
I would highly recommend this property for anyone.

Just the right amount of communication, not being bombarded with emails
Directions were spot on. I would recommend using Google Maps to get familiar with the turn off and the road up to the cottage as it is single track.
The property itself is lovely. Very well presented and cozy. There was a nice personalised note from the owners welcoming us to the property. Everything about the place was great. The care package for the dog was a nice surprise. Oh and the cakes in the fridge!....WOW

"We had a lovely relaxing holiday."
Directions were clear and found it no problem even though tucked away up in the countryside. Peaceful and quiet setting with spectacular views on the descent to main road. At night there was no light pollution an ideal area for star gazing. We saw plenty of deer right up close to the property. Cottage was unique, cosy, clean and equipped with everything we needed with lots of additional special touches. The welcome basket and mini desserts in the fridge were a nice surprise, I am a huge cheesecake fan so these went down a treat, was so hard to decide what to try first and what to leave until last, thank you, they were all delicious. The kitchen area was very well equipped but just a tad dull when working at the cooker. Bedrooms were very comfortable, spacious with ample storage space. We would highly recommend a stay at this cottage and would love to return at a different time of year just to experience more of the outdoors, to spend more time at the beautiful beaches nearby and to see the spectacular views in the area with clearer, brighter skies. Hazel's Cottage is the ideal location to explore the Kintyre region.

"Of all the many holiday homes we’ve stayed in over the years, Hazel’s Cottage must be the best in every respect."
Wonderful location - sea views, and gorgeous sunsets to watch. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped, everything needed for home cooking. Our hosts had provided us with a welcome pack, with treats including some spectacular and delicious home-made cakes, and they were on hand next door with friendly advice and information. We were lucky with the autumn weather - mild sunny days to explore the beautiful beaches of Kintyre. Altogether, we’ve had a most enjoyable holiday. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased you had such an enjoyable stay.

"Cottage exceeded all expectations."
Beautiful, rural location. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack (gutted we left the last of the home baking behind in error!), the cottage was immaculate inside, gardens were beautiful. The owners are right on site so should you have an issues, we didn't, they are right there to assist. Very friendly & welcoming and kindly brought a goal out into the garden for our wee one the play with. Despite being pretty rural the cottage was very easy to find & you are not far from the main town and the many beaches. We will definitely return for longer next time.
Thank you so much Ellie for your lovely review. I'm so pleased that you had a wonderful stay and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
