“Great tranquil little place to stay.”

Beautiful countryside all around. The cottage itself was immaculate and had all accessories needed and everything matche which was a lovely touch. Fiona kindly let us in earlier than the entry time. Nice little pub restaurant also 2 doors up

About the location

BRAEHEAD

Carnwath 3 miles; Lanark 7 miles; Edinburgh 28 miles; Glasgow 30 miles.

Braehead is a small village in the Lanarkshire region of the Scottish Borders. It is home to a village pub, a school and a village hall and has spectacular views all around. Just three miles from Braehead is the farming village of Carnwath which nestles in the Clyde Valley on the edge of open moorland and enjoys views of the Pentland Hills. Notable in Carnwath is the Market Cross and St Mary's Aisle, which is the only part of the Collegiate Church on the current Parish Church and dates back to 1386. Just eight miles from Braehead is the restored cotton mill village of New Lanark, a World Heritage Site, close to the Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve. Further afield is the garden of Little Sparta with its amazing sculptures, plus the area’s location makes it ideal as a base for visiting Glasgow and Edinburgh.
