Description

Transformed Railway Wagon is a converted former railway wagon resting in Cwmdu, Powys, set on a working Welsh farm and offering a distinctive tiny‑house stay for couples.

Positioned amid open countryside with far‑reaching valley views, this single‑storey retreat combines characterful design with thoughtful facilities for year‑round breaks.

Enter via a private entrance into a studio-style living space where a pull-down double bed, kitchenette, dining, and sitting areas are arranged for easy use of the space.

A small heater provides warmth across the seasons, while the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with a compact breakfast bar and foldaway stools creating a handy spot for morning coffee or simple suppers.

Bed linen and towels are provided for convenience.

A separate shower room offers a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, giving a straightforward start and finish to the day.

Outside, the wagon opens onto a garden area with patio furniture and a fire pit, creating a focal point for evenings outdoors.

A covered ‘open‑car’ area with a sofa and blankets provides a sheltered place to sit back and take in the setting under the night sky.

On‑site parking is available close by.

Local amenities including a village pub are within easy reach, while days out can be spent exploring Cwmdu, heading to Crickhowell for shops and eateries, or visiting Talgarth with its local producers.

Nearby highlights include walking routes through the Black Mountains, trails within the Brecon Beacons National Park, and countryside paths that begin from the farm tracks.

After days spent exploring hills and valleys, return to Transformed Railway Wagon to enjoy time outdoors and a memorable stay in rural Powys.

What guests are saying

We’ve had a fabulous stay at the Railway Wagon.

I felt very relaxed there and I certainly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The Wagon is very cozy and beautifully restored, and includes everything that you could possibly need. There is so much for kids to do here, from petting the horses and farm animals to trampolining. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer, thank you so much for an enjoyable stay. Ro
