TALGARTH

Builth Wells 15 miles; Llandrindod Wells 22 miles

A pleasant town just outside of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Talgarth is a historical town baring many old and beautiful buildings such as a 13th century peel tower, now the Information Centre, and a 14th century church, it was also once inhabited by Romans once upon a time. The town has plenty to do in the way of gliding, pony trekking and plenty of walking opportunities through the well-known Black Mountains. The rivers Ennig and Ellywe run through the town, it is also home to the Pwllwrach Wood, said to bare a lake where witches were drowned many years ago. Talgarth has two gastro-pubs, a cafe and shops to enjoy at your lesure. The Tabernacle venue hosts many events such as musicals, plays, talks and book launches, the town really does cater for everybody. The popular town of Builth Wells is within easy access and is certainly worth a visit, as is Llandrindod Wells slightly further north.
