  • "This was our second time staying at this beautiful house, but our first time in the Ismay Lounge Suite and it completely blew us away."

    By the end of the week, we genuinely didn't want to leave! Having stayed in various accommodations across Liverpool and Waterloo over the years, I can safely say this place is second to none. Absolutely everything about it is spot on - from the stunning decor to the ideal location. If I had to give one tiny, constructive note (and it’s purely trivial because everything else was flawless), a slightly bigger cafetière would be great for coffee drinkers sharing the space, as the current one is ideal for just one person. That aside, the suite felt completely comfortable from the moment we walked through the door. My Grandad lives nearby, and I’ve already decided this is where I’ll be staying every single time I visit him. Thank you for another unforgettable stay. We can't wait to return!

  • "Ismay Lounge Apartment was stunning in every way with beautifully high ceilings, comfortable yet practical furnishings and so much Titanic memorabilia to interest history buffs."

    The setting is beautiful, seeing a cruise liner approaching Liverpool to dock for the day on our last morning was a lovely way to end the holiday. On road parking was, as indicated in the details, plentiful. The private patio off the kitchen gets the morning sun (and is very peaceful) whilst the lounge and front garden get the evening so perfect for outdoor relaxing. The neighbours were also very friendly, we loved Bonnie the dog! I did slightly miss having terrestrial TV in the lounge (it was fine in the bedroom, maybe because I already knew how to access it as a family member has that brand in their home) but you can access live TV through most of the Apps which were already loaded so really a very minor niggle. As we had no problems, we had no need to contact the owner until a checkout question on the last night and their response was prompt and friendly. Beach Lawn Ismay Lounge Room really is a very special place to which I hope to return (the other suites also look gorgeous) and would recommend to anyone considering visiting Merseyside.

  • "Lovely historic apartment in a truly fantastic location."

    Waterloo and Crosby beach are very magical. Very comfortable stay the apartment was beautifully furnished and well equipped apart from it needs a cafetiere for morning coffee in the fab dining kitchen. Tracey was a helpful and attentive host. Would absolutely recommend and hope to stay again one day soon. Thank you.

  • "Lovely stay."

    Very close to the beach. Plenty of road parking outside. Convenient to the metro station in Waterloo. Had everything we needed. High quality furnishings and appliances. Only negatives: needs curtains in main bedroom as very light, Wi-Fi didn't connect in downstairs suite, more cutlery would be useful.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay."

    The apartment has been thoughtfully and beautifully renovated and we loved all the decorative connections to the Titanic. Lovely large and comfortable sitting room with great views of the docks and dunes. A highlight for us was being so close to the Anthony Gormley installation ‘Another Place’ on Crosby Beach. Super large kitchen that was well appointed (the only thing we missed was a cafetière for coffee) and the shower is fabulous! Vicky was great and responded promptly when contacted. We would love to come back and stay again!

  • "Fabulous apartment, fabulous location and very friendly and helpful hosts."

    We think it would be helpful if the description mentioned that the stairs to the downstairs bedroom went directly off the ground floor bedroom, and that they are very steep. Also, maybe a stair gate might be an idea. You must visit the Volunteers Canteen old Victorian pub, a real delight! We had a lovely Indian meal from The Saffron, and they deliver.

  • "We had an excellent stay at this Outstanding apartment, which had everything we needed and was very comfortable."

    It is clearly well looked after, I highly recommend staying here. There are complimentary sachets of tea/coffee etc available and toiletries in the bathrooms. The apartment is full of interesting information relating to the White Star line. We found so much to do in the area, long walks on the beach just over the road from the apartment. Public transport bus and metro is about a 10 minutes walk. We took the metro to visit Liverpool waterfront. Vicky the owner was welcoming and very helpful when needed. A wonderful experience, we would definitely stay again.

  • "Character apartment in a great location."

    Booked for 4 nights in October 25 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the apartment is spacious with comfortable fittings and furnishings throughout. Location is fantastic overlooking the Crosby beach foreshore and the Anthony Gormley 'Another Place' installation but still close to the local train station and a high street with a wide variety of restaurants. Only niggles were; no terrestrial TV, no washing machine (though the hosts can arrange for this to be done for a charge) and the sink in the main bathroom which is lovely and ornate but not very practical.

  • "Absolutely gorgeous, immaculate, and in a perfect setting, close to the beach, with lots of lovely long walks."

    The kitchen is huge with everything you could possibly need for meal prep. Beautiful living room area for entertaining family, all our visitors were very impressed with its comfortable sofas and furnishings. Pretty outdoor area, great for eating outside or reading. With a gas-fire and ample off-road parking with EV charging available, Ismay Lounge Apartment - Titanic Interest is an idyllic base for history buffs and two dutiful dogs on a city escape in Merseyside.

The apartment was originally built in 1860 for Mr Thomas Henry Ismay founder of the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line.

His son, Bruce Ismay, lived at the house until he was 13.

He eventually took over the running of the White Star line when his father retired.

After commissioning the build of RMS Titanic in 1912, he came to international attention as the highest-ranking White Star official to survive the sinking of the ship, for which he was subject to severe criticism.

Step back in time into this gorgeous abode.

Beach Lawn House (titanic Interest)

Welcome to the Beach Lawn House, the beautiful Mansion house that was originally built in 1860 for Mr Thomas Henry Ismay founder of the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line. He purchased the property for only £2,500 on the 27th Dec 1860. The original deeds showing his signature can be seen in the hallway of the main house. Thomas Ismay’s house - like the remainder of its neighbours in Beach Lawn — was built in the Italianate manner, popular with the rich merchant classes during the 1860s, and one of a number of architectural styles which battled for favour during the 19° century. At Beach Lawn House, Thomas Ismay used Italianate in its most outspoken form, with a riot of profuse and opulent decoration. Here, the building covenants stipulated uniformity of style, hence all the other houses are Italianate ~ but typically, Ismay managed to outdo all the rest with a house more showy than all its neighbours. Since its original build in 1860 Beach Lawn House has never been open to the general public. In 1930 the Mansion house was divided up into 4 large apartments. In 2022 the new owners decided to renovate the huge ground floor apartment and have now created TWO separate letting suites on the ground floor level . The other area on the ground floor that contains the original Lounge room can from time to time also be privately booked for Private afternoon teas and small evening functions. The house sits opposite Crosby Beach in the Brighton – Le – Sands district of Merseyside. Beautifully presented throughout with off-road parking, EV charging, luxury touches and front lawns. The Beach House provides an exceptional retreat for couples and their canine companions looking to escape to this part of Liverpool for a while. Just a short walk away is Crosby Coastal Park, an excellent starting point for exploring Sefton’s Natural Coast, home to Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, a purpose-built water sports and visitor centre, featuring a bistro and gym. Crosby Beach offers a large expanse that is home to Antony Gormley's 'Another Place' sculpture, providing lovely walks leading onto the 22 mile Sefton Coastal Path that boasts wonderful coastline vistas. Located near to a train station, you can easily access the city centre of Liverpool and explore the popular Cavern Club, which has famously hosted bands such as The Beatles and Rolling Stones, before heading to the Royal Albert Docks for a choice of eateries and even concert square for bustling nightlife.
