    The area is so peaceful and quiet. We loved using the hot tub. The owner came round to introduce himself, he was lovely and made sure the hot tub was working properly. We would definitely stay here again.

    Pod was clean and spacious enough for two and a dog. The hot tub was well maintained and a welcome addition after a day of walking. 15 minutes walk to the nearest village with a shop and the buck inn pub, which the food was amazing and recommend. Will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone.

  • "In a fantastic location even though the postcode does not bring you to the correct location."

    Compared to others you get a lot for the money including underfloor heating, the lovely hot tub and large living area. Could do with having blinds over the main doors as people could see straight through to the bed and possibly a mattress topper as it could get uncomfortable but overall only tiny issues.

  • "The retreat was an amazing get away from the real world of work and the perfect place to switch off from life in the beautiful setting."

    Just a couple of things that we thought would make it even better, if you’re staying for a few days we stayed for just over 4 days, take extra towels, there is only one and if you don’t you’ll be using the same one for the hot tub and for a shower. Maybe add some fresh bedding in the draws, for a change of bedding. I’d take some fly spray for the hot days, just to keep them away. And please take off that there is a BBQ we bought all food for a bbq as there was one advertised, but there wasn’t so had to go out and buy a bbq. The hot tub was well maintained and clean. As mentioned above it was the perfect getaway just need a few tweaks or be more transparent on the booking

    Lush tranquil and quiet with some beautifull views. I feel so relaxed now after staying there. Would recommend to anyone who needs a little time out and some peace and quiet. And Stanley the owner was so friendly and kind! Was an absoloutly pleasure to stay there and j will be back

    The accommodation was modern, clean, and cosy. The location was quiet and secluded which was ideal for relaxing expecially with the wonderful hot tub outside. The bed was so comfortable it was like being in a 5 star hotel. The shower was perfect after a day walking and exploring the countryside. We thought the bread, milk and the little jar of dog treats were a thoughful little touch. The electric fire soon warmed up and made the room cosy and warm. Locally the village of Bangor on Dee is a short walk away which has a village shop and 2 pubs (The Buck and The Royal Oak) We visited both pubs during our stay but it is worth mentioning that The Buck does not serve food on Mondays or Tuesdays and The Royal Oak doesnt open at all on Mondays or Tuesdays. Both pubs are very welcominging and dog friendly. Overall we had a fantastic time at The Retreat and we would definately recommend a stay here. Would we return?....absolutely and we will be booking again sometime soon.

Park off-road in the spaces provided and choose between a spacious home, and two contemporary lodges, each with light and airy living spaces for guests to enjoy. Bangor-on-Dee is a village in the borough of Wrexham in Wales, situated on the banks of the River Dee. Bangor-on-Dee offers a perfect base from which to explore North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire. The village is home to a number of shops and local pubs. Bangor-on-Dee is famous for its renowned racecourse which hosts many exciting jump racing fixtures in a year on the banks of the River Dee.
