Mill Lane Cottage

My third visit to Mill Lane cottage which says it all.

Rita and Ian are welcoming and friendly and the cottage is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a good location for visiting Chester and the surrounding area and I highly recommend it.

This is our second stay at Mill Cottage.

The cottage has such a lovely homely feel to it. Great location for visiting all around the Cheshire countryside. Upkeep and cleanliness of the cottage is superb. Would highly recommend this cottage. Hosts Rita and Ian were on hand if needed.

Mill Cottage was charming and beautifully presented, with everything you might need for a comfortable stay.

It's location is a little detached from Tarvin village, but in in a pleasant, quite corner down a leafy lane. We met the owners, who were friendly and helpful in every way.

Warm, cosy, well equipped kitchen.

Welcome pack upon arrival was very handy. Quiet location. Owner of the property (there if needed).

Best review I can give is that if I'm up this way again this is exactly where I'll want to stay.

Nice little touches along the way. Rita was friendly. Kitchen had a enough equipment to make it operational which is a huge plus. Nice little location and very convenient to lots of attractions.

Lovely little cottage ideally situated just 20 minutes from Chester.

Good bus links from the village into Chester itself which has an excellent train service into Liverpool. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped for a 1 - 2 week stay. The owners, (Rita and Ian) are right next door and were on hand to ask any questions about the property or the area. We had an excellent week at Mill Cottage, helped of course by the excellent weather. - Recommended.

Mill Lane Cottage was absolutely beautiful.

It was incredibly clean and in immaculate condition, the sofa was very comfortable and there was everything you could need. The only down side for me was that the mattress was way too hard, so much so that I hardly slept a wink. Such a shame as other than this it would have been perfect.

Whilst working away, the well equipped cottage provides an ideal home-from-home, a quiet environment and also fast, reliable internet. When not working, the back garden allows for extra space to relax in the sunshine, whilst the front of the property provides ample, safe parking for two cars. Owners Rita and Ian are friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and I would most definitely stay again when working in the area.

Fabulous cosy cottage.

Spotless. Great beds. Everything you need - and even more you didn’t think you’d need. Thought if everything. Great hosts. And great position. 5 mins walk to Tarvin for 15 min bus into Chester (no 82 or 84). Coop in Tarvin and the most fabulous bistro for breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner - all of which we sampled and it didn’t disappoint - or if you just want a drink or a coffee. Great food and great people. Loved our stay here.

Mill Lane Cottage is one of the best, well equipped holiday cottages I have stayed in.

Everything you could possibly need has been provided. It's in an ideal position for visiting Cheshire and North Wales and with a regular bus route into Chester it means not having to always use the car. Rita and Ian were welcoming and friendly and I highly recommend this cottage. I plan to return next year. Thank you.

This property was exactly as advertised.

Its location met all our requirements as a base to visit local attractions in and around Chester and was quiet and peaceful. It was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we could possibly have asked for. We received a really warm welcome from our landlady on arrival and she could not have been more helpful. We had an excellent break and would not hesitate in returning in the future.

A very comfortable and homely cottage ideally located for visiting Chester and the surrounding area.

An added bonus to have a good TV with Sky Sports and Netflix. We hope to return some day.

Had a lovely stay here with a friend and my Mum who has Parkinson's Disease so intermittent restricted mobility, but had no prob.

going upstairs, or to sit in the pretty backgarden. We had a lovely couple of chats with Rita; the owners weren't intrusive but felt they were avail. with local tips. We visited Chester where the river looked golden in the sunset, another day we went to Chester Zoo nearby. Also, Aquarium bit further north. Bathroom nice, kitchen open plan so when cooking you're not cut off from others relaxing on the recliners in comfy lounge. Fab!

Although the property is near a main road, it is very quiet and peaceful.

Here you have everything you need and more. There are also good pub/restaurants nearby partly in walking distance. The buses to Chester from Tarvin village are frequent and inexpensive if you don`t fancy taking the car. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return in the not too distant future.

My husband and I have just returned from a brilliant 2 week stay in this beautiful accommodation in Cheshire.

Rita and Ian gave us a warm and friendly welcome and were very helpful throughout our stay. The property was immaculate, with everything we needed and all the comforts of home. This property is well situated in a good area for visiting loads of places Chester, Liverpool, New Brighton, Wales and so many more. We will defiantly be returning to this properly in the future.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage - cosy and comfortable in a quiet and peaceful location, within walking distance of Tarvin itself.

Perfect location for visiting Chester, Liverpool and loads of other places. Rita and Ian the owners live next door and and we met Rita - she was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage is well equipped with all the things you would need, and there was fresh milk in the fridge when we arrived, along with a handy selection of tea and coffee. Lots of little touches to make it feel like a home from home - fresh flowers on the kitchen windowsill, lots of books on the bookcase, spare throws and cosy blankets if it got too chilly! Cannot fault this cottage at all - it was perfect for our short stay. We would 100% stay again, and would absolutely recommend! Thank you Rita and Ian for a wonderful stay!

I would highly recommend this cottage.

Lovely clean cosy cottage more parking then stated so a bonus has had family visiting, Will definitely book it again .

Absolutely loved the place and certainly plan to use again when we need to stay in Chester for an exeact weekend.

The only downside, would be the size of the towels. I will need to pack bath sheets as the towels provided are too small to wrap around after a shower.

We were warmly greeted by the owner.

Her hospitality was loverly. Cottage was amazing, clean and comfortable. There was milk in the fridge, small selection of tea and coffee, all the little extras that make it that much more welcome. There is a loverly restaurant only 10 min walk away. I highly recommend this loverly cottage and would go back again. Five star

Would recommend to anyone, great location to get to other places. Llandudno only 1 hr away, Liverpool 40 mins and Chester via park and ride.

A lovely, clean, well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a great location for visiting Chester and exploring the surrounding area.

The cottage is just outside Tarvin, next to the old mill and in the countryside. It has a cute back garden but unfortunately it was a bit too cold to take advantage of it. The owners live next door which is useful and a few essential provisions were provided for our arrival. The cottage was perfect for our short stay with our granddaughter, who loved looking out of her bedroom window at the horses in the nearby field. We will certainly be making a return visit in the near future!

High standard of finishing throughout. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Location great. Do not be put off with the Mill & other business behind cottage as we NEVER heard any noise from them. Parking is immediately outside cottage but owner is in talks to obtain land opposite to allow for a better parking space. Still not an issue though. We sat out in the garden a number of times & it is beautiful & peaceful & only 10 minute walk into Tarvin High St.

Mill Lane Cottage is in a quiet location with surrounding fields and excellent position off main road with direct transport links to Chester etc.

The cottage was very clean on arrival and everything you could want for a holiday was provided for you. The owners being next door was reassuring and their eagerness to offer anything that was missing for an enjoyable stay. Being a solo traveller I was most comfortable and would highly recommend. The mince pies and biscuits provided on arrival was most welcome at Christmas time.

Everything was very clean, which is important to us, and there was everything you need. It was very peaceful at night, and the setting is great - near enough to the main road for ease of travelling, but far away enough to enjoy the country setting. This was a lovely, clean, well equipped cottage in a quiet position but within easy reach of Chester by bus if you wished.

Good wifi at the property also. Lots of things to do within the area without travelling too far: Chester city walls, Chester zoo, Colebrook Shire Horse Stud, Beeston Castle, Anderton Lift and Delamere Forest if you like walking. We took the train into Manchester for the day ( hourly service) from nearby Helsby to spend time with our granddaughter who is at university there. I would definitely recommend a stay here it had a very homely atmosphere.

Not quite the quiet location we had hoped for. However, the cottage is of an exceptional standard and cared for by owner.
