  • "Absolutely loved our stay at the beautifully appointed Ty Gelert."

    It is centrally located, close to all the amenities, yet quiet and relaxing. The cottage is finished to the highest standard, it has very comfy beds and everything you could possibly need for a wonderful relaxing ‘home from home’ stay. The communication with the owners was also exceptional. We enjoyed it so much we will be returning and will be recommending Ty Gelert to our friends.

    Such a beautifully appointed cottage right in the heart of all the amenities but quiet enough to relax and chill. The only thing I would love to see is a dressing table upstairs with a mirror (and good light!) but that's about it! We will definitely return and recommend your gorgeous cottage to our friends.   • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage for a variety of resons."

    The location was superb, literally in the middle of Conwy with all its 'attractions' literally on the doorstep. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and we immediately felt 'at home.' Everything was as expected or better than expected from the photos and previous reviews. We have stayed at various other cottages and once felt that 'cleanliness' was not as expected but certainly not here ....everything was immaculate, well thought out and geared to 'guest satisfaction and experience.' Couldn't fault our stay here. I can see parking could be a problem at weekends or school holidays but we always found 'our spot' directly opposite the cottage. A truly fabulous stay...we will definitely book again. Lynne, Karen and our four legged Lottie.

    We decided to come here for a few days to take the kids to zip world and see Snowdon. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house is stunning, we love all the modern décor and appreciate the beautiful design touches. The beds were super comfy and everything was beautifully clean. We parked in the short stay car park which was a few hundred meters away. Went to Dylan's, The Harbour Quay & The Mulberry to eat. All we loved. Would highly recommend and will be telling our friends and family about your beautiful house. Thanks Again.

    Communication was excellent, the property was immaculate, and everything was exactly as described. Not a necessity for short stay but some small wardrobe for a longer stays would be welcome.   • "Very well appointed townhouse in the very heart of Conwy."

    If traveling by car, parking can be a bit hit n miss. We went out of the school holidays so dropped on a space. If you get one on the harbour area as we did for the first week it's free and safe. We walked and used the train mostly to tour the area. Great shopping and food. Top pub is the Albion.

    The castle and Elizabethan house are well worth a visit, there are some lovely shops, pubs and restaurants in the town, and fabulous walks by the estuary. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in this house.

    The beds are so comfortable, the style of the house is stunning & the location is central to everything. We loved the focus on the dogs and the fact that you have considered vegan and cruelty free products. We will definitely visit again soon, it's been amazing. Ty Gelert is a welcoming Grade 2 Listed Holiday Cottage set within the Historic Walled Town of Conwy, North Wales. Five minutes walk from the castle and Quay, offering an excellent base for couples or small families keen to explore the coastline and the landscapes of Snowdonia. .

Newly launched and ready to welcome its very first guests, this charming cottage offers a fresh and exciting place to stay in this beautiful part of Wales. Please note the property is accessed via 12 external steps from the parking area to the entrance.

Due to this access, the property may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

On-road parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis it is limited so no guarantee.

Paid parking is not far away. Inside, the cottage features a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, and fridge, making it easy to prepare meals at your own pace, with a dishwasher and washing machine assisting with any clean-up.

Walk across the contemporary wooden flooring and sink into the spacious corner sofa, perfectly positioned in front of the exposed-brick feature fireplace with a mounted TV, creating an inviting setup for cosy movie nights.

The living and dining space blends style and comfort, with artwork adorning another exposed brick fireplace and a circular dining table set beneath a chic statement light, providing the ideal spot to unwind or plan tomorrow’s adventures. Two well-presented bedrooms offer restful accommodation, served by a bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Outside, the enclosed rear patio is arranged with outdoor furniture and suits a quiet morning coffee or a relaxed drink at the end of the day. WiFi, fuel and power are included.

Conwy itself is rich in history, with its well-preserved town walls, impressive castle and independent shops all within easy reach on foot, alongside a choice of cafés and traditional pubs.

The nearby river adds to the town’s character and provides pleasant waterside walks.

Llandudno is easily accessible by car for classic seaside days and a stroll along the promenade, while Betws-y-Coed sits slightly further afield, opening up woodland walks, waterfalls and outdoor pursuits within Snowdonia National Park. Ty Gelert offers a well-placed base for discovering North Wales, combining historic surroundings with easy access to coast, countryside and mountain scenery.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep.
