Located at the heart of the village of Ruan Minor, just a short walk from the picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith or a short drive to the beautiful Kynance Cove or Lizard Point. For those interested in walking, the coastal path is on your doorstep. The Attic is a newly refurbished and beautifully presented two bed loft apartment. A pair of large wooden gates provide secure access to a gravelled parking area, at the rear of the property, suitable for 2 vehicles. Benefiting from its close proximity to the local amenities and an enviable position on the Lizard Peninsula (an area of outstanding natural beauty with dark sky status). The Attic welcomes four guests, perfect for a family, couples or friends alike seeking a relaxing getaway or walking holiday in Cornwall. A modern lounge and dining area with sea glimpses from the window. The well-equipped kitchen, furnished with all the appliances you need to enjoy a self-catered stay. The accommodation also provides two bright bedrooms, one of which is is a zip n link which can be set up as a double on request. The modern shower room has a walk in shower. The space offers 360 degree views of the village, out to sea and across the fields to the beautiful St Grade and Holy Cross Church. It's also a great spot to observe the amazing starry night skies. A former superhost with Airbnb, the owner continues to provide the high level of service and care expected by their Cornish Cottage Holiday guests.
If you prefer to spend your evenings alfresco, head outside to the charming, enclosed garden, complete with barbecue and outdoor furniture so you can soak up the evening sun. If the beach and water sports are your thing, there's an outdoor tap for rinsing yourself and your kit, before relaxing in a large, walk-in shower. Just a short walk away is the National Trust’s old serpentine works, at Poltesco, perfect for history enthusiasts looking to learn more about the area’s rich heritage and enjoy the surrounding woods and streams. A 40 minute hike via Poltesco will take you to Kennack Sands, an idyllic spot for sunbathing, paddling the shores or simply relaxing with family and friends; if you're feeling up to the challenge, why not try your hand at a range watersports, including paddleboarding or windsurfing, guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing!
Alternatively travel further afield to discover the likes of Kynance Cove of Poldark fame, the Goonhilly Earth Station, Bonython Estate Gardens, the busy harbour and foodie centre of Porthleven and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, each offering plenty to see and do. Lovely accommodation in quiet village very close to the sea.
The Attic was clean, fresh and well appointed. Fresh flowers, cream tea (scones, jam and clotted cream) and thoughtfully, washing up liquid and toilet rolls. Both bedrooms had plenty of space and fabulous views, star gazing whilst in bed was great in the double bedroom. Plenty of space to store your luggage and clothes. The shower room is nicely put together. The kitchen is compact but has pretty much everything you need to cater successfully, mind your head if concentrating on food preparation. The living area is tight, good space for two people but more difficult for 3 or 4. We bumped our heads a few times, fortunately this was mostly on the open velux windows, no damage done! We found parking tight on the premises, but there is parking space locally within 100 metres of the property. The garden is cottage type, but we didn’t take advantage of it. The post office shop two floors below (and no noise) provides good access to essentials if staying locally and not wanting to go much further afield. Staff were really helpful if needed for any Attic issues. Overall this is a lovely space, the only things for awareness are two flights of stairs to reach so not really for the physically impaired; Slopping ceilings in living area and kitchen restrict headroom and could be a problem depending on numbers of visitors and their height. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Attic - a little jewel, Local beaches are easily reached and some of the best in the UK.
The Attic is very well equipped, clean and comfortable .
It is situated in a gem of an area, plenty of beautiful places to visit. A cream tea left for us was most welcome and flowers were a lovely touch. We would not hesitate to book this accommodation again. Being above the local store was also very handy. Overall a brilliant weeks holiday.
We had a wonderful stay at the Attic.
The flat is very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The Cornish tea is lovely after a day of traveling. It is well situated to explore the Lizard area. The flat is warm but we were there in a heatwave and we coped. A fan in the bedrooms would be nice. The car parking is a tight space but if you’re not comfortable getting in the gate, there are alternatives. Just one thing that would be helpful; the pillows are all real feather so for allergies it would be good to have an alternative. I had to be inventive!
