  • "Hello! My husband made this booking and from the Sykes description it sounds lovely, which it is but doesn't meet the description given."

I think an update is needed. We were led to believe following an email from yourselves that there would be towels, robes and slippers, great! But later got a separate email from Park Holidays, who it turns out are the owners, to say bring towels, bath Matt, tea towels and oven gloves! Maybe you aren't aware of this but towels, robes and slippers are definitely not provided! At first it looked clean and tidy, but I later discovered that under the sofa cushions hadn't been cleaned in a while with used dirty tissues which clearly had ear wax on them, a build up of sand, dust and raisins! I Hoovered it myself as the cleaners seemed run ragged! The bed was poorly made, with the sheet my side becoming completely untucked on the first night, I re made it myself the next morning. Only one thin pillow each, could do with 2 and no pillow protectors??? Are they not standard? There was a small courtyard area with tables and chairs to sit out if desired, but only 2 tables and chairs between 3 cottages, both were in use when we arrived as airers for the adjoining cottages to dry their swimming costumes, so I guess it's first come, first served. The equipment in the kitchen is ok but quite limited and Sharpe knives blunt! Could also do with a bread knife! Over all our stay was lovely but with just a few tweaks it could of been a little bit better. We would probably stay there again but it would be helpful if you haven't been to that sight before to know that you need to bring towels etc, we luckily saw the email from Park Holidays at the last minute, otherwise we would of ended up having to buy extra when we got there! I am also going to contact Park Holidays as we appreciate that most of this is out of your control, maybe you just aren't aware that towels etc are not provided. We did try to contact them before we left but the only number we had was for a national call centre with a very long hold time. As already said, overall it was a lovely stay and is a great base for exploring Cornwall further and plenty to do on site, but with a few tweaks it could be perfect! Thank you, kind regards, Owen and Nicola Alexander.
