Bowling Green Cottage

Bowling green cottage is very homely and had everything we needed for our stay.

Lovely views and so very peaceful.

We loved the cottage - it was cosy and comfortable, with easy parking for a big van and a lovely garden.

I enjoyed watching the emus in the paddock next to the garden. The only downside was the washing machine not working. We would definitely do a return visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bowling Green Cottage.

Its in a lovely area with excellent meals close by at the pub. Conveniently placed for coastal areas and gardens, and many other attractions. The Cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped . The owners were were very helpful and friendly. Would go again !

Loved our stay at Bowling Green cottage.

The house was warm, clean and had all the facilities we wanted. Nice enclosed garden space for the dogs. Walks locally from the door to beautiful Carn Brea hill and to the fascinating mines of Wheal Frances, free and safe to walk around. also, short walk to local pub there Countryman with entertainment every night and a really war welcome. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

lovely little cottage owners very pleasant people with free range eggs for sale too.

2nd time there and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. pub just up the road which does good food.

Lovely cozy Cottage with spectacular views in all directions.

On a small farm with interesting animals, including lots of chickens, turkeys and emu! Farm eggs are available and delicious! Well equipped with all you would need. Helpful friendly owners. Five minute walk to a local pub which is really good fun with lots of entertainment. Good idea to bring a HiVis jacket for the walk home which is partially street lit but darker for the last few minutes. We have camped at the adjacent Camp Site previously but will definitely return to the Cottage in colder weather.

Amazing cozy cottage in an amazing area.

Everything you need is supplied. Owners very helpful and not intrusive. Log burner was wonderful especially made the mood for christmas. Had a lovely relaxing week ready to face the new year. Thank you.

We arrived in a blustery evening but entering the cottage just shut the weather out.

It was so cosy and secure. There were some lovely welcoming touches, some dog biscuits and a tin with teas and coffees. The cottage was perfect for our week away. We had everything we needed with a brilliant secure garden that we could let the dogs straight out from the living room. Although it felt very secluded and peaceful there were plenty of supermarkets and petrol stations just a 5 minutes drive away. We had a Tesco click and collect booked so got our shopping easily. It was central for excursions, we visited Falmouth, St Michael's Mount, The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the park and ride from St Erth to St Ives on the train is incredibly easy to do. The wood burner was a hit as well and we took advantage of using it on the evenings we were home. Thank you so much, we had a brilliant stay.

The perfect place to have a relaxing holiday

Beautiful place .

. could do with a shower curtain instead of a shower door especially if you are on the large side… struggle to get up from the couches quite low with having mobility problems…otherwise had a great time Naomi and Kevin very nice and friendly

Nice little cottage at an ideal location for exploring SW Cornwall.

We were greeted on arrival and shown around the cottage. Nice little enclosed space for the dog to enjoy, comfy twin and double beds, sufficient kitchen, smart TV & internet worked well. Parking is shared with the main house and there is a short walk around the main house to the cottage. It was easy enough to find, I would suggest using What3Words to give an accurate location to make it even easier to find, ///deleting.removal.fizzled for the parking area in this case.

Conveniently located with a short drive to various attractions.

Dog-friendly Cornwall, the cottage is lovely to return to after a full day out. Warm, welcoming, and well-equipped.

Cosy little cottage great for us and the dogs .

The owners are lovely and a great place for visiting South Cornwall ,the only downside was the low settees but I managed would like to return in the future enjoyed a lovely holiday

We have just enjoyed the most wonderful week at this cottage.

We had our two dogs with us and found the garden was perfect for them. It's in a brilliant position and many beaches and attractions are within easy driving distance. While the cottage is on the smaller side it had all the facilities you could possibly need and is very cosy and a real home from home. The recent bathroom renovation has been done very well and makes the most of its small size. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the garden and watching all the new baby lambs. We would definitely return here in the future

Had a wonderful stay at bowling green cottage, the cottage was spotlessly clean and the hosts Naomi and Kevin are lovely friendly people nothing is too much trouble the views are amazing and the place is very peaceful, a real home from home, The garden is safe and secure my 2 doggies had a great time.

We will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend the cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We are just leaving from a great stay at this beautiful cottage.

It is well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a great location within easy reach of Camborne, St Ives and the surrounding areas. Naomi and her husband are welcoming and lovely and are on hand to deal with any issues swiftly. We will DEFINITELY be back! Thanks for a wonderful week.

This was the second time I've stayed there.

This time for 4 weeks. I think that says it all ! The cottage was spotlessly clean when I arrived with my 5 large dogs. There was plenty of room for all of us, although the cottage was incredibly cosy. A new wood burner & a starter pack of logs, kindling,, firelighters, & matches welcomed ggʻme. .. The finer detail very important to me as I do not drive, so was unable to "pop out to the shops". Naomi & Kevin are super people & a great lover of animals which means a lot to me. They were always on call immediately, but not intrusive.A spectacular view of the immense countryside added to the relaxation of the holiday. Cottage was very well equipped, but if I was going to "nit pick" I would just say that a second smaller frying pan, would have been handy, as being on my own, the one & only very large one was a nuisance at times. Also more cleaning materials as I wanted to leave the cottage as I found it. My dogs love it there, & if they're happy, I'm happy. I was very lucky to find a very reliable, reasonable local dog walker who knew the land well so I used him for the past 2 years. He used to take them out for 2 hours everyday. A Godsend for me. All in all, a very great holiday & I cannot wait to return.

The cottage was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , Kevin and Naomi were lovely hosts and very nice people, the countryman pub just a few hundred metres down the road was very friendly with a very good food menu, would we return…….

most definitely

We have stayed at Bowling Green before and been very happy with the cottage and on sight owners, who are friendly and welcoming.

Really good base to explore the local area and a short drive to excellent beaches, our favourite is Godrevy, with excellent walks for you and your dog, beach or overland.

Just perfect.

We were welcomed warmly humans and furries. Shown around and then left to it for the week. The property was spot on and very well equipped we were 4 adults and 5 furries. Even welcome snacks for the pups. Very clean and tidy. Enclosed garden with amazing views. Easy walk to a very welcoming dog friendly pup. We wanted a chilled week away and that was exactly what we got. Thank you

The bowling green cottage was situated in a good area for amenities and location to other towns.

The cottage it’s self was smaller than we thought as it looked bigger on the photos and also the garden too but was big enough. Kevin and Naomi were both very pleasant and helpful although the cottage was right next to their Home, we didn’t see them that often and They never intruded on us . The Cottage it’s self could do with a little bit of updating In Certain areas. We went for for a week and we had a good time. Would recommend friends.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location.

Ideally suited for those wanting to visit various locations in the South West. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. The area was lovely and quiet and being on a farm there was ample parking. The broadband was very good as was the tv reception. The cottage was clean with just minor cleaning issues such as a couple of cobwebs in the twin room and some blackening to the silicone in the bathroom. The twin room was a good size as was the double bedroom. The twin room did however have a slight damp issue on the corner wall which although was dry did leave a slight damp smell if the door and window were closed. Not a deal breaker but worth noting. We have an old cottage so we understand these old constructions. The garden was lovely with enough room for our dog and it is fully enclosed. The hosts were really nice and were there if needed but not intrusive. You can buy fresh eggs at the farm which are really nice. I would recommend this cottage and would certainly use again if in the area. Overall a great place to stay.

A lovely comfortable holiday cottage, everything you need for a week away.

The only issue we had was the WiFi was very slow so had to turn it off and use 4g

So friendly and helpful, a perfect restful holiday home

We all enjoyed our stay at Bowling Green Cottage so much, that we are going to book again for next year.

It is so peaceful there, and everywhere that you would want to visit is within a short drive. Our hosts Kevin and Naomi were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Top marks on a lovely holiday retreat. Thanks, Paula.

nice owners,comfortable&clean accomodation.

Needs a little renovation(but owners are in process of carrying this out.) Would definately be delighted to stay there again.

Wonderful location with friendly and helpful owners.

The accomodation was more then expected in every department and is highly recommended.

A great property, very quiet and peaceful location, with all amenities not too far away.

Would love to go back there.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful setting which overlooked fields of lambs sheep cows horses and chickens, the cottage is behind the owners house but very private with its own little garden, we took 3 dogs with us but I think you could take more.

The hosts were a lovely family and respected our privacy, there was also a field for campers which had 3 hook ups as well so all in all would definitely go back again.

all very enjoyable spotlessly clean just a shame about the weather tho.

lovely supply of fresh eggs. still eating the last few I brought home.

Lovely little cottage with everything you could need provided.

Have just returned after a truely lovely Christmas break.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, & even with 5 large dogs, & the bedroom & bathroom doors shut all the time, seemed extremely cosy & not to small. Naomi & her family were very nice & made us feel welcome all the time. It was obvious, they were dog lovers themselves. Cottage itself was always snug & warm, & the log fire, an added bonus. I have already booked to stay next Christmas, there again, so that says it all.

Lovely little cottage with a good pub within walking distance.

Very welcoming hosts and everything you need for a relaxing break. Would definitely come back.

had a fabulous time great view cottage very cosy loved seeing the sheep and chickens especially walking down to the countryman inn great food will love to visit again.

Lovely, cosy cottage, friendly owner, great location with many activities like Via Ferrata, Football Golf, Kernow Adventure Park, Karting not far away.

We had a lovely stay with two teenagers and 4 dogs.

Very pleasant people nice area to stay recommend a pub down the road

Excellent place to stay for touring the whole foot of Cornwall and will come back again.

Most places we visited an easy drive other than Eden Project but that will be a lot easier when they have finishedbypass. Shower thermostat had several issues whilst in use during our stay but continued to work although probably needs checking/replacing before it packs up.

Had a lovely week in this cosy little cottage, loved waking up and looking at the view and loved all the farm animals x

Another lovely holiday at Bowling Green Cottage.

Fantastic views, plenty to do and see locally to the cottage. Good food at the local pub. Naomi and Kevin are lovely people.

enjoyed our stay, warm and cosy, local walks from the door, local pub does great food.

We had a lovely stay at bowling green cottage small but adequate lovely garden for the dogs lovely owners everything you could want in the cottage was there.

A lovely change we were given clean bed linen and towels for our second week.

This is a lovely detached cottage next door to the owners farm.

It is very very small with the lounge and kitchen in the same room and the dining area in what is also the cloakroom area. It has two comfortable bedrooms and the smallest shower room I have ever been in…. It’s is a lovely and warm little cottage but I wouldn’t recommend it for many people maybe two adults and two small children max. Dogs are allowed and it is wonderful for them as they have an enclosed garden. You have everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay and I can highly recommend it. It does maybe need a bit of a freshen up in the bathroom but that’s about it… maybe a new more powerful shower… but we have just spent Christmas week here, 3 adults and 3 dogs and we have had a lovely time. The owners are absolutely super and couldn’t do enough for us… A great little place ideal for a couple or small family xxxx highly recommend

A lovely holiday cottage, very peaceful and comfortable.

A beautiful location with great views and very conveniently situated to explore the area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay there with our dogs and hope to return in 2023.

It was a pleasure to stay in Bowling green cottage .

It was comfy and Cosy and just what we needed for a relaxing holiday . Having the Goats Chickens and Ducks just outside your door was lovely with fresh eggs a definite bonus . The hosts Kevin and Naomi were lovely and there if you needed anything. We will definitely stay again in the future. Lisa

Very nice remote detached property on the grounds of the owners farm but absolute bliss, never got woke up by any farm animals etc.

Nice owners & comfy cottage with everything you would need. Great location & easy access to local towns, shops, A30 etc. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay and would highly recommend Bowling Green Cottage to anyone!

Naomi had the cottage ready for us by 2pm on the day of our arrival and immediately made us feel very welcome. She took time to meet our 4 dogs and was not put off by their barking with excitement. We were shown around the cottage and were told if we needed anything at all to ask. The cottage is beautiful. It had everything we needed for our stay and there were many extra touches like soap, tea & coffee, toilet paper, washing powder and liquid, kitchen roll etc, all the things we would usually dash out to get as we either didn’t think to bring them or ran out of room in the car. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs and the views from the cottage were beautiful. The location was perfect for us. Hayle beach is just a short drive away and there plenty of places to explore. The only bad thing was that we had to come home!

Lovely cottage.

Ideal setting for exploring Cornwall or just chilling out. Naomi was the perfect host.

Lovely Cottage and garden Naomi and Kevin very helpful would definitely recommend.

Wish we could have booked for 2 weeks

A little comfortable cottage.

We stayed at bowling green cottage for 14 days in July 2022 . We were 4 adults and 2 little dogs. If anything was needed the owner's helped straight away. We loved our stay and would love to book again sometime

Really interesting location close to a lot of Cornwall's mining heritage and central for all areas of western Cornwall.

The cottage had a nice garden for the dogs and plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the views. Washing machine and washing line very useful. Inside it's comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. There's an eclectic mix of artifacts in the cottage and the bathroom probably could do with some updating in fairness, although didn't bother us at all. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and oven was excellent. Wifi was pretty slow but we had a good 4G signal. Owners were lovely, overall would recommend!

Very comfortable place to stay, hosts very friendly and helpful, great surroundings and perfect location for travelling to all the other towns and beaches, would certainly recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful and relaxing vacation.

Excellent location, lovely host and good facilities to make our stay very comfortable

If you like to be in the country with wonderful views, but also near enough to facilities like a supermarket etc than Bowling Green cottage is ideal.

A compact little bungalow with a cosy open fire and two comfortable settees in the living room, a small but perfectly working kitchen and two lovely bedrooms provide all you need. And if you have dogs, they will enjoy the well enclosed garden. Naomi and Kevin are on hand if needed and the fresh eggs were a delight. We loved our stay.

What a lovely place to stay, a proper home from home, very clean and comfortable.

We found that the cottage is well placed to visit all over Cornwall which was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks there with our greyhound and everywhere we visited, including many cafes, are dog friendly. Naomi and Kevin the owners were very friendly and if we'd had any problems (we didn't), they're right next door. Thank you once again for our lovely holiday.

A beautiful little cottage in the most wonderful setting and location.

Great walks from the cottage. The dogs loved playing in the secure garden and walking up to the monument in the morning. Local beaches are not far away. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Naomi was very friendly and helpful. Delicious eggs for sale from her chickens. Would highly recommend a stay at Bowling Green cottage.

Really nice and quiet place to stay.

House is very cosy and relaxing. The view from the windows and garden are beautiful. The eggs sold from the farm are lovely.

We booked our stay to have something to look forward to in January and Bowling Green Cottage has been just what we needed.

The weather hasn’t been kind to us but we managed to visit Lands End, St Ives, Porthleven, Kynance Cove, Helston and the Lizard. When the weather lifts, the views are amazing. The cottage is so welcoming, cosy and well-equipped that we have been really comfortable here. We love the extra touches like fresh flowers, soap powder for the washing machine, Netflix and even a torch for taking the dogs out at night. The cottage layout is so thoughtful with a stone floored entrance to bring the dogs into before they go into the lounge. The garden is securely fenced and even my two cocker spaniels could not find a way out. We were only here three nights but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have already recommended it to friends and would love to stay here again ourselves. Thank you so much.

A great place to stay, location was good for us to visit places and the walks nearby steeped in history

My friend and I stayed twice at cottage this year.

Once in May and end of Nov/Dec this year. We had an awesome stay and would highly recommend.

This cottage was as described in the advert, it was very clean and comfortable, lovely flowers to welcome us, the cottage was warm and cosy despite being freezing outside will storm barra throwing all sorts of weather at us.

The open fire was wonderful. The cottage was well equipped there wasn’t anything we needed and didn’t have. Local pub was great, went there 3 times. We will look forward to visiting again

Bowling Green Cottage is in a great location to explore Cornwall.

The owners could not have been more helpful. The cottage is quite small; our party was two adults and three dogs so it was ok for us but I think four adults would struggle with the space. Instant heat from electric radiators was very welcome 'cos the weather was awful the week were there. Enclosed garden was great for the dogs and there are plenty of walks close by for more exercise. The pub at the end of the road was great! Very dog friendly and fabulous Sunday lunch

We really enjoyed our time at this lovely little cottage.

The owners are very friendly, but not intrusive, & left us to enjoy our holiday as we wanted, but at the same time are very helpful when needed. The cottage itself was clean, very cosy, comfortable & had everything needed for a nice quiet self catering holiday (and the coal/log fire is an absolute treat on cold evenings, although the central heating there is great). There are plenty of amenities within a 5 minute drive of the cottage & plenty of local produce is sold nearby. All in all we left extremely satisfied with our stay, & would sincerely like to thank Naomi & husband for a wonderful stay.

We have stayed at this cottage twice before this one.

It is a lovely cottage within easy reach of the bottom part of Cornwall. The facilities are very good and it is well maintained. The owners are lovely and will help with any issues. Fresh eggs on site and a pub 5 minutes walk away. It can get a bit windy on the top of the hill but it is double glazed, great place to stay.

Very helpful delightful people.

Nothing to much trouble fresh eggs were amazing even provided dog bowls and treats.

The cottage was not cleaned we arrived 10 minutes early and knew we would have to wait the owner told us she hadn’t hoovered yet so we waited when we got into the cottage it smelt very damp we weren’t too concerned as it was described as rustic but we weren’t prepared for the unclean cupboards the bathroom could do with a deep clean also the kitchen the door handles were sticky with grease the grill pan had grease and crumbs from the previous people the oven door was filthy the carpets were grubby the tv had a black line running through it so made watching it difficult the blanket box under the bed was covered in dust we also discovered the fridge couldn’t have been cleaned as the freezer compartment had the previous people’s food left in it and it would have nice if the lawn had been mowed overall we felt let down by this experience and if we hadn’t paid we would have left but we stuck it out till the Friday as it was our first holiday since COVID IT WAS NOT CLEANED TO A STANDARD ONE EXPECTS FROM YOUR COMPANY IN ORDINARY TIMES LET ALONE IN A PANDEMIC we had a previous holiday cottage in Scotland which was booked through you and it was everything we hoped for we feel really disappointed our holiday was not what we were hoping for and would not recommend this cottage to anyone

Great cottage perfect for 4 people.

5 minutes from a local very friendly pub. 2 miles drive from Redruth. Short drive to 3 great beeches. Hosts were great and available when needed but do not intrude on your privacy.

This cottage is absolutely amazing, it has a real homely feel about it.

Everything was up to standard, me, my husband and 2 children loved it. It’s in the perfect place too, the views are stunning, everything u need is available including iron & ironing board, airer, small washing machine & washing basket & pegs for the outside line. There was also a good hairdryer in the bedroom drawer. The countryman inn is a short walk away where we spent a couple of evenings having tea, playing pool & we also did the quiz! The cottage is also a very cosy place to spend an evening in after a busy day out exploring Cornwall.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at bowling green, while we were there we were going to book again for the same week next year but when looking and saw the price increase have decided against it.

I think that sykes are letting themselves down with such a high increase

Great base for exploring Cornwall.

The cottage was perfect if you have your dogs with you. Very comfortable beds and all the amenities you need. Very peaceful and relaxing setting. The farm has sheep, goats, variety of hens and cockerals. Freshly laid eggs for breakfast! Delicious! The hosts didn't intrude at all but were there if needed. Would book again!

Cottage very tired needs a bit of TLC

Lovely cottage in a very handy location, short drive to gorgeous beaches and lovely woods.

Cottage had all amenities and was very homely, clean and run by lovely people who are more than willing to help with questions and advice ! Would highly recommend !

The cottage had not been cleaned to a high standard, there were aged cobwebs and dust in places, taking into account the extra time allowed for corona virus we were disappointed.

The twin bedroom floor was damp, this was traced to water seeping down the lower part of the walls, this in turn meant that nothing could be left on the floor. The hot water in the bathroom was feeble to say the least, and the shower played up with those showering, going hot and cold. The host was pleasant and helpful on our arrival, but wasn't seen until our departure.I I would be happy to recommend Sykes Cottages, however we could not recommend this cottage.

Very well equipped cottage, beautiful views and very friendly owners.

Local pub dog friendly and good food.

Lovely little cottage, perfect location, especially for our Cavapoo to walk and play in a very large paddock, not going onto roads was a blessing.

I'm not sure if its Cornish folk being laid back but we did have a minor issue with our hot water, we mentioned it to the owner, and worked around it ourselves. We did enjoy a lovely week and would book again.

It was very comfortable cottage and very central to places of interest although with covid 19 made it impossible to go a lot of places.

One local beach highly recommended only a 5 mile drive. Owners very welcoming to myself, wife and 3 dogs.

The cottage was all we had hoped for very comfortable, well equipped and clean the host's were very friendly and helpful the scenery good all helped to make it a very nice holiday would like to go back again.

This property is in need of updating ,(On photos on the site looked ok,) Cleaning was poor The steps indoors need marking with yellow tape or some colouring as you forget and trip up them Ironing board needs replacing badly Beds fantastic Outside was fantastic, owners lovely I always recommend cottages from Sykes but not this one

Lovely cottage and friendly host always there to help when needed

We had a brilliant stay.

The hosts were friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. The cottage was super cosy and had everything we needed. The location was brilliant, within very easy reach of a good range of facilities and a nice pub, as well as being close enough to a range of stunning beaches and coast walks. The cottage and the whole area were really dog friendly. The only thing that was a slight disappointment was the shower - it worked enough to fulfil its purpose, but the flow was a bit weak. However this really was only a very small issue and did not stop us from having a great holiday and we would 100% recommend this cottage as a fantastic base to explore the North Cornish Coast.

Nice little detached two bedroom cottage in the grounds of a farm next to the owners home.

All good.

A lovely property.

Noami and Kevin are very friendly and helpfull. I have been going back for several years. Already looking forward to next year!

A lovely, cosy cottage with fantastic views all around.

Close enough to amenities whilst still feeling rural. The hosts are right on your doorstep but not in any way intrusive, despite walking right passed their door to get in and out we still had privacy which helped us to be able to manage our reactive dogs so that they could still have a wonderful, relaxing stay too!
