  • "It's home away from home."

It's close to where we wanted to go. Comfortable beds and pillows. I think we spent more time in Robinswood than outside. The kids enjoyed scrabble and the adults live chilling in the back garden. We recommended it to friends already and we would love to go back next year.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back another time! Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved staying at Robinswood."

Fantastic facilities in the house and in the holiday village itself. Beds were comfy, lots of space and was super clean. We thought that the kitchen would benefit from an oven glove or tea towel but apart from that, perfection! Thank you

Thank you for your feedback and we’re glad that you enjoyed your stay at Robinswood. Apologies that a tea towel and oven glove were not provided - this should have been provided by our housekeeping team so we will take that up with them. We hope to see you again soon at Robinswood. Many thanks, Jacqui & Richard. Property Owner

  • "This was our third stay at Robinswood, very comfortable, quiet and everything we needed."

Lovely walks to two beaches from the doorstep. Pendra Loweth is dog friendly, our little Esme feels very much at home there although a little disappointed this time as the robotic lawnmowers weren't in use. We had a problem with the downstairs toilet door (fortunately we were on the right side), the caretaker was easily contacted and was happy to sort out the problem. We need to visit Cornwall fairly regularly and Robinswood will always be our first choice.

Delighted that you enjoy staying at Robinswood. Sorry to hear that you had a problem with the toilet door - this has now been fixed. We look forward to welcoming you back again! Property Owner

There were not many facilities on site but because we used the cottage as a base, it didn't affect us. However, the cottage itself, was excellent. Well supplied and clean. Location to popular areas was ideal. Would highly recommend this cottage.

  • "I've stayed in a few places here and this was one of the best and I'll go on to say why but just have to point out one issue as I'm sure you'd want to know."

The washing machine and dishwasher had dried powder everywhere inside and fabric conditioner overflowing in the dispenser. Not a major problem as I put both on a hot wash and all was fine after that. Think the cleaner was having a bad day that day! Besides this the rest of the house was spotless and very well equipped although wash cloths and sponge as in other places would be helpful. The big perks above others were great shower, lots of shelves in the shower, powerful extract fan over the cooker, outside back light coming on when you go out for that late night dog wee! And my dog says a big thank you for the adorable tray of treats, poo bags and bowl. She would only drink water out of your bowl and loved her treats!

Thank you for the feedback and we’re sorry about the issues with the cleaning products in the washing machine and dishwasher. We’re glad that you enjoyed your stay and your dog loved the treats and water bowl! We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "At first we were very excited about Robinswood, unfortunately we quickly came to find a lot of issues with the property."

The first was the broken dishwasher , and then the toilet downstairs wouldn’t flush and to top it of the extractor fan in the bathroom wasn’t working . As we like to look after where we our staying we arranged for maintenance people to come and fix these which resulted in 3 separate occasions we had to try in to be available for the Plummer and electrician. We stayed there with the intention of it being pet friendly as we travel with our well behaved cat / emotional support animal for a bereavement in the family. We always made sure to keep the property clean and tidy and walked our cat daily and brought her scratching post and toys. We our very upset and angry as we have been threatened with a £45 damages fee . Considering all we did to get the house sorted for the owner we won’t be recommending Sykes again our stay in any other Pendra loweth properties.

Thank you for your feedback, we can confirm that we had arranged to have the dishwasher and extractor fan repaired as quickly as it was reported, towards the end of your first week’s stay. We were then advised about the flush system, which was also dealt with promptly at the beginning of your second week, as per your extended stay with us. Whilst pet friendly, we were not informed that you were bringing a cat, as we only accept dogs. The £45 charge mentioned, was to cover the additional cleaning costs required, as unfortunately, the property was not left in a satisfactory condition. Property Owner

Plenty of outdoor and beach items like tennis rackets and body boards which are not really expected - not much for young children although this isn’t expected either! • "The plus points - the house itself is lovely and could be amazing, plenty of space, parking, stocked with all the stuff you need for a holiday cottage, dishwasher, microwave, washer etc."

. on a nice development. The negative points for us, the property had only had a basic clean in between lets (beds changed, hoovered, bathrooms done) It was very dusty, skirting boards, windowsills, top of the toilet roll holder etc and there were cobwebs in the downstairs loo and upstairs bathroom. Probably as a result of this we had 9 large spiders in a week not good if your spider phobic like me. When we moved the 3 seater sofa one night we found 2 pieces of glass. The property is very tired and needs a paint job. The towel rail upstairs has yellow and green wires visible which concerned me. In comparison to a cottage we stayed in the following week in Devon for the same cost this was not what I expected. You can walk into Falmouth but it's through fields which when it has been raining heavily is not ideal and could of been made clearer.

Thank you for your feedback we hope you enjoyed your holiday in Cornwall. We were very disappointed to read the feedback about the standard of cleaning. The house has now been fully deep cleaned and will be redecorated throughout in November. We purchased the property early this year and have been working our way through various upgrades. The yellow and green wires you mention on the bathroom towel rail are the earth wires and pose no risk have been fully tested. However, this rail is being replaced for a new chrome one to match the one in the downstairs toilet. Additionally the windows and doors are due to be replaced with UPVC double glazed units in February. We are constantly reviewing the standard of our cleaners and will switch if further negative comments are received. We do appreciate your feedback. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "Generally I would say the house and estate in which we were based in were very nice."

However when we arrived we found that their was no one working in the office at the site and the only way I was able to find out where the key for the house was by ringing up sykes cottages as I was unaware that an email had been sent to me describing on how I would need to go about retrieving the key. In addition to that we found that the towel rail in the bathroom was hanging off on the first day we arrived. Also for the week we were there the Bar/Restaurant was only open from 16:00 HRS for 3 out of 7 nights which was Saturday, Tuesday and Friday night due to staff shortages. This meant that most nights me and familly had to go into Falmouth for something to eat in the evening. In summary I would have to say that if all of the facilities on the site had been available 7 days a week I imagine my stay with the familly would have been a much enjoyable experience.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your visit to Robinswood. We have spoken to the owner in relation to the points you raise and she has confirmed that the clubhouse is currently open on reduced hours because of staff shortages due to covid. These opening times are subject to change and will most likely vary over the coming weeks, we are sorry this caused your family some inconvenience however as you can appreciate this is out of the owners hands. The guests and staffs safety is very important and certain measures are still in place at this unprecedented time. . The towel rail has now been removed. Key collection details along with directions are emailed out to guests twice before their visit, we are sorry you did not pick these up. Despite all that has been mentioned we do hope you had an enjoyable visit. Property Owner

  • "The cottage itself was lovely and was in lovely grounds."

We had everything we needed and the beach accessories were fab. The only downfall was the cleanliness. It hadn't been cleaned very well and the floor was dirty as was the kitchen. Nothing that would put us off staying again though ad this was the only issue. All in all a really nice place and, peaceful but close enough to beach and town.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Robinswood. We are sorry that the usual standard of cleanliness that we would expect was not met and we have fed this back to our housekeeping services. We hope to see you again at Pendra Loweth. Property Owner
