"Love coming to The Hayloft - I've now lost count of the times we've been."
Great for dogs - the huge garden and beaches nearby. Candidly a new mattress on the master bed would be good (not as hard) & if there's anything that can be done to strengthen wifi (small niggle) that would be perfect as can't really stream using Netflix. But, we'll be booking again as we love it.

"For those with a young family an inexpensive garden lounge set would be great to enjoy good weather in the garden."
This would be great for those with little ones who may not be out in the evenings.
Stair gates should be fitted for toddlers both inside and out. This gave us continuous anxiety!!
Lovely quiet location within a few minutes drive of a lovely beach and plenty of good restaurants and pubs in Porthleven.

"We love our time at The Hayloft - this is our 5th or 6th visit, we’ve actually lost count."
It has everything you’d need from holiday accommodation & is in a beautiful setting. Porthleven with its wonderful, picturesque harbour & restaurants 10 mins one way, and Praa Sands beach 10 mins the other way. Absolutely gorgeous-we’re already looking at dates for next year.

"We absolutely loved the Hayloft with so much space both upstairs and outside, and with great views in every direction."
The kitchen was very well equipped and the chairs and sofa were super comfy. Sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening was amazing, looking out over the fields and listening to the birds singing. We will definitely return.

"The Hayloft was a beautiful place to stay, the pictures don't really do it justice."
The garden is huge and so peaceful. The location is perfect for visiting so many amazing places such as Lizard Point, Mullion Cove, Rinsey and Poldhu Cove to name but a few. The local pub also does a very good Sunday roast takeaway although hopefully we will all be able to eat inside again soon! We will definitely book to stay there again another time. Sykes have been very efficient too. One small point, if the weather was warm a couple of sun loungers would be great for a snooze in the garden!

"The view towards the Lizard from the Hayloft is simply stunning and the picture on the website does not do this justice!"
Fabulous barn conversion, we found it spotlessly clean with welcome pack much appreciated - and supplies still in their wrappings also welcomed in the current Covid circumstances. Well equipped kitchen and very nice to be able to bake whilst on holiday. Very comfy beds and we loved the Mira showers. Our dogs loved the garden and spent lots of time during running around safely whilst we enjoyed a glass of wine on the balcony enjoying the views. Lovely peaceful setting near the village, unfortunately not able to see the frescos in the church due to Covid restrictions so will just have to come back another time! Walked into Porthleven, and had many lovely walks around the coastal paths at Rinsey, a short drive away. Would recommend visiting Church cove beach and walking up to the nearby Marconi monument for lovely views towards Mullion cove and the pasties at the beach cafe at Poldhu cove en route! Marazion at sunset is a must and Gwithian Towans for huge beach and walks over the dunes. We had a great week and would highly recommend.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday and that you loved The Hayloft. We hope to see you again in the future to create new amazing memories. Property Owner

"We received a text message from the housekeeper advising that the cottage would not be ready until 3:30 (instead of 3:00 as advertised)."
This was not unreasonable as additional time in getting a property prepared to Covid proof standards is to be expected.
After a 380 mile journey we were pleased to note that the property was as depicted by the Sykes website. However, it quickly became clear that the standard of cleanliness was far below the expected standards. Toilets were spotted with faeces, hair and urine. Mirrors were smeared. Interior windows smeared with grease (or maybe spit!). Crumbs were on the dining table and chairs.
The kitchen;
filthy hob, oven and grill.
Dirty work tops.
Kitchen cupboards and handles filthy.
Fridge drawers engrained with food deposits.
Dirty cutlery drawer and contents.
Dirty crockery and greasy glasses.
Pan drawer covered in grease with a dirty frying pan and utensil on the top and finally
Disgusting washing up bowl (both interior and exterior filthy).
Rather than contact the owners and/or Sykes who could only have requested the cleaner(s) to return and do a proper job whilst we sat around waiting for the issues to be addressed, my wife and I set about cleaning the kitchen ourselves. This necessitated the entire crockery, glassware and utensils going in the dishwasher and the purchase of additional anti-bacterial cleaning wipes. Some 2 to 3 hours later (after a 10 hour drive) and 4 dishwasher cycles within 24 hours, the kitchen approached something of the standard that other Sykes properties have provided (including this troubled year). The hob was cleaned 3 times during our stay but we were not prepared to tackle the oven or grill. Photographs have been and can be provided if required!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The owners would have welcomed the opportunity to set this straight during your stay so we are sorry to learn that you didn't report this during your holiday. On this occasion the cleaner had been compromised by the workload left by previous guests: a system has now been set in place to ensure this doesn't happen on future occasions. Property Owner

"Lovely house, well though out and, very comfy."
The wifi was patchy and the drive up to the house wouldn't be any good if you have a low suspension or a sports car.. but these are minor really, the house was a great base for us and Porthleven was really nice, too. I would reconvene this property

"Wonderful stay at the Hayloft."
Location is perfect, just a couple of minutes from main road but so peaceful and relaxing. Cottage was spotless and kitchen extremely well equipped. Sanitiser and wipes were provided as was a lovely welcome pack which was appreciated after a long journey. The photographs on the website did not do this property justice as its much larger and absolutely stunning. Views from the balcony were also much better than expected.Garden was very dog friendly and even a little basket provided with dog bowls, towels and treats. This is a truly stunning holiday home and would definitely recommend

"This is our second stay here now, and the location is amazing, and facilities are very good."
But, I need to say the cleanliness leaves a little bit to be desired. The ensiute shower doesn't drain, the windows are really dirty, and the window latches are all broken. The oven is really dirty and both times we have stayed we have found ourselves cleaning for a few hours to make it feel home. We have booked again, as we find this location amazing, so.hopefully some if not all if these issue will fixed.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at The Hayloft. We have spoken to the owner who was sorry to hear the property did not meet expectations on this occasion and has taken note of all points raised . New handles for the windows have been ordered, however there have been issues with the suppliers, we have been told they will be fitted in the next 2 days. Due to the bad weather we have faced in recent weeks, the window cleaner has fallen behind schedule, again this will be rectified at the earliest convenience. We will be meeting with our housekeeper to address the cleaning issues. Despite the points raised we are very pleased to see you will be returning to Neptune. Property Owner
