  • "The property was amazing for so many reasons."

    We visited with our son and our parents and they loved it too. The views were stunning, the beds - were so comfortable and everywhere was clean. The kitchen had a good range of pans, cutlery, crockery etc and wifi worked great.the location of the house is ideal for access to Carbis Bay beach (absolutely stunning!) literally a 5 min walk, Carbis Bay train station - again probably 8 mins at most and trains into St Ives ran every 30 mins and took 4 mins to get in. There is a beautiful walk along the coastal path to get to St Ives too, just 20 mins from the house. We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful stay

  • "Exceptional property for a family holiday."

    Our family age range is 74 - 6 and everyone enjoyed their stay at Bayside. Thanks again to the owners for allowing us to take both family dogs - who had a great time as well. I do think you should mention about the work going on with the development in the valley which was a bit noisy occasionally, particularly when they kicked off just after 0800! Thankfully I was able to park on the level space. Eldest son has an automatic car so parking on the sloping drive wasn’t a problem for him. Other car had to be parked round back. Couple of problems in the en-suite which were notified to CBH and hopefully were rectified before next booking.

  • "Bayside is exceptional; the property itself is well decorated and maintained, stunning location and the promotional images would never do it justice - this is an absolutely perfect holiday residence."

    But what made it for us is the owners attention to detail in respect of provision of equipment. Everything in Kitchen, dining, barbie, games room high standard, new John Lewis quality kit. Towels and linen absolutely immaculate and great quality - very high standards and absolutely NOTHING to want for. The owners of Bayside set an exceptionally high bar; if we return to Carbis Bay area in the next couple of years I'll be looking at availability at Bayside!!

  • "Yes I would."

    I would say the garden was not dog friendly as there were lots of gaps in the hedges for our dog to escape. I still haven't had my security deposit of £500 returned...

  • "There was a problem with the bed layout when we arrived, but it was quickly rectified by your staff, so thank you for that."

    It always seems a shame there is no option for recycling to be collected. We weren't sure whether to just strip the top sheets or the mattress protectors too, when leaving - might be worth clarifying in the "checking out" information. Other than that, had a wonderful holiday, thank you!

The property

Perched above St Ives Bay, in the green leafy Parc Owles area of Carbis Bay, this five-bedroom, reverse level, detached property, enjoys panoramic sea views from most rooms and its glorious garden, a short walk from Carbis Bay Beach, St Ives scenic railway and for direct access to the South West Coast Path.

Sleeping ten, with stylish spacious living areas, a beautiful seaward facing Cornish landscaped garden, games room and seven-person luxury hot tub, it’s a fabulous base for a celebration by the coast, it’s pet friendly too so the whole family can get together for a holiday to St Ives.

The entrance level to the villa is on the first floor via a spacious hallway which leads to the kitchen diner.

The spacious sitting area and kitchen/diner are all seaward facing, so whether you’re relaxing, cooking or dining you can enjoy the mesmerising views of the bay, the sitting area is on the top floor to benefit from the best views, a large window frames the picturesque Cornish vista and allows natural light to flood the space, themed in a pared back, Scandi style, with bright neutral walls, simple yet stylish furniture including a large Hay Mags corner sofa, a three-quarter Rolf Benz sofa and a Hay leather chair, comfortably seating the whole group, this welcoming space is a great place to chill and watch the ever changing colours of the ocean, or relax in front of the log burner to enjoy the entertainment on the large smart television.

A separate games room is located on the ground floor, providing an intimate space to escape to and chill out, cosy up on the large sofa and enjoy gaming on the Xbox One S or watching a film on the large 55″ smart Ultra HDTV with sound bar.

The open plan kitchen /diner is on the entrance level, first floor, to benefit from the uninterrupted views of the bay when dining or entertaining, especially from its glass fronted seaward facing balcony, which natural light floods through, offering a welcoming space to gather for meals, a large oak and white dining table with a matching bench, four grey dining chairs and two bar stools, allows enough seating for everyone to dine in style, the contemporary kitchen is well-appointed with splash back tiles and spacious granite work surfaces, offering everything you need for a week’s stay, a separate utility room, off the hallway, houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, this room enjoys sea views too, you may find volunteers queuing to do the washing.

There is a choice of five comfortable bedrooms, four seaward facing ground floor rooms, offering fabulous bay views and one in the basement, for anyone who wants a little independence, the master super king and the second king sized room both offer direct access to a private seaward facing balcony, the master also has a private en-suite with a large bath and enclosed shower, room three is set as a twin as standard and room four features a black tubular steel bunk bed, offering some fun for the kids, the basement room is fitted with twin beds, these like the ones in bedroom three can be made into a super king zip and link bed on request, giving you total flexibility.

The family bathroom with bath and shower-over, is conveniently located by bedroom three, on the ground floor, relax in the bubbles and enjoy some time out to yourself, although not an en-suite the basement bathroom with shower, is ideally located for bedroom five, a cloakroom with WC is conveniently located on the entrance level.

The glorious seaward facing tiered garden is a wonderful space for the whole family or large group to relax, with breath-taking sea views, the top level is ideal for dining alfresco with a built-in BBQ and a large outdoor dining table by Case with Calligaris chairs, the middle level houses a seven-person luxury hot tub, the enclosed bottom level is laid to lawn, ideal for the kids to play or the dog to enjoy a run, there is also a warm water outdoor copper shower to remove all that Cornish sand.

A short walk brings you to the South West Coast Path this heads to the year-round pet friendly beach, Porthkidney Sands and Carbis Bay Beach and St Ives in the other direction.

Carbis Bay Beach has achieved Blue Flag status for its crystal-clear waters, so has pet restrictions at times, however this glorious, secluded bay is lifeguarded at peak times so ideal for catching a wave, swimming in the surf, or enjoying a walk along its golden stretch of sand.

St Ives is a beautiful traditional Cornish fishing village, surrounded by sandy beaches and a working harbour, which serves it wonderful restaurants with fresh sea food, its pretty cobbled streets are dotted with boutiques, cafes and art galleries, artist have been inspired by St Ives around the world and it is home to the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, where you’ll find a lot of its former residents work celebrated, after touring the gallery treat yourself to a relaxing return journey to Carbis Bay on the scenic railway, it runs along the coastline and the views are breath-taking. A group picture in front of the iconic sign post at Land’s End, or a night out at the nearby open air Minack theatre, dramatically cut into a Cornish cliff, or on the beach with the majestic St Michaels Mount, near Penzance, as the sun sets will provide memories which live for ever, the kids will love exploring the rainforest at the Eden Project near St Austell, Newquay Zoo or feeding the animals at Paradise Park, near Hayle, the older ones will scream with delight at Flambards Theme Park, near Helston.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
