  • "Had an excellent at Gennaker, the property was clean, light and had a high standard of appliances and furniture."

The location was convenient for touring the South West, we normally stay in St. Ives and was nice to not be in the constant traffic jam trying to get into St.Ives. It was convenient to the south west coastal path to walk into St. Ives (especially as it meant we passed the awesome Porthminster beach and cafe on the walk). It was a short walk to Carbis Beach which is safe, quite and very very clean (only thing to be aware of, its a VERY steep walk so is hard work on the walk back). As in other reviews the walls are pretty thin so you can hear the neighbors, tbh this was not a big deal for us as we spent most of our time outside of the apartment. One important piece of feedback for the owner (which I believe has been repeated in other reviews), the instructions for the heating make no sense. They talk of turning a dial to 1, there are no dials on the heating controls only buttons. Luckily I have seen this type of heating control before so could work out how to turn the under floor heating on. However, if you have not seen this type of unit before it is VERY confusing, there are buttons on the control unit, buttons on the boiler and then dials on the thermostat in each room. I REALLY think you need to look at these instructions as the 'stress' of trying to work out the heating unit is a bad start to any holiday. Anyhoo, we had a fab stay and apart from the heating instructions which is a minor minor point, this is a very good property which is good value for money. Thanks so much

Dear Mr Cooper, thank you very much for your informative Feedback following your holiday at Gennaker, we are very pleased to hear you enjoyed a “fab stay” at the property. With regards to the heating instructions, we are very sorry for any stress caused by these, one of our Team will attend the property this week and will check them and amend as required. Kind regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "What a fabulous apartment."

It’s location was ideal, providing the opportunity to walk down to Carbis Bay beach, Carbis Bay Hotel and local restaurants. We also walked into St. Ives in less than 30 minutes along the beautiful coastal path. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently equipped with everything you could possibly need for any length of stay. My recent visit was for a weekend away with girlfriends, however I will be returning at the first opportunity with my family as children would love it too. I would absolutely recommend.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you back again with your family soon. Kindest Regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

Perfect for walking into St Ives or using the train. We expect to climb hills in this area as we come down every year at least once and tend to use you as so reliable, clean and perfect accommodation. One advisory please check light bulbs as only one working out of 4 in main bedroom ceiling lights

  • "Was a lovely location but very hilly so would not recommend for the elderly."

Beautiful surroundings and Carbis bay beach is stunning. Good bus links and the scenic train was pleasant. Will definitely re visit.

  • ""House is very roomy and comfortable and only a 20 min walk to St Ives."

It is situated on quite a steep hill so not for the feint hearted. You can get the train or bus into many surrounding areas. The house is a great idea if you go out for the day then just wish to chill together on an evening"

comfortable and in a good location. It was handy we could park 2 cars. We like the Watermill pub at Lelant which has a lovely garden and serves good food. The weather could not have been better. The apartment was lovely, spacious, modern and clean. We spent many a morning on the beach taking advantage of the sun. Carbis bay beach is stunning. We walked in to St ives and used the train on another occasion. We did eat out in the evenings (although the apartment was fully equipped) often driving into Hayle. We also walked up to the Cornishman's arms and had an adequate meal." S. Craig
