  Firstly I would like to say thank you for the £100 compensation for the broken shower controls. The service we received regarding this was superb, the maintenance man was there with in minutes of us calling the office and he was very helpful. The apartment was beautiful, very clean and fully equipped. The view absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, I do have one complaint. We arrived at the apartment an hour early, we checked the key safe and as the key was there I presumed it would be ok to enter the apartment. We’d only been in there a few minutes when an Extremely aggressive woman came in screaming at my elderly parents that we had no right being in there until she had inspected the place. Ok, we made a mistake by entering early which I honestly did not think would be such an issue. I apologised over and over and said we would leave but there was absolutely no reasoning with this woman, she was so aggressive and rude. I worked in the travel industry on cruise ships and we were always told the guest should ALWAYS be treated with the utmost respect regardless if you thought they were in the wrong or not. This was most definitely not the case here. It’s such a shame we had to have this horrible experience as everything else was 5 star.

• "Beautiful property in an excellent location."

  The property was well laid out and had all of the home from home items. We had a few issues with some of the local kids playing football/frisbee in the car park over my car but that isn’t the property owners fault. We would definitely book again.

• "This property was one of the best we have stayed in."

  It never felt like a holiday rental it was a real home from home. We loved it so much we have booked to visit again in October. My only grumble is the Valley Road Hill it is very steep if coming up from the beach. Only mention this for the benefit of those less able. However this has not deterred us from wanting to return.

• "Had a great stay."

• "The property exceeded our expectations."

  It is really well located, with access to Carbis Bay and the local trains and buses close-by. Fantastic views from the property and the provision of binoculars to see the local fishing boats was a bonus. We had a fantastic week and loved the local area for walking, eating and drinking.

• "We really enjoyed our week at Genoa."

  The view I never get tired of looking at. It's a lovely apartment, and a great asset that we can bring along our little dog too, so she can enjoy the holiday break we have. Although we live in Cornwall ourselves, mid county, we love coming to visit Carbis Bay, and staying there. We had a couple of small issues, such as the bathroom window wouldn't open, and the top bedroom window wouldn't close, so we reported it straight away to the office for them to look at once our week had ended. But it wouldn't stop me from staying at this lovely apartment again. Thank you.

  We were an adult family and everyone had their own space. The underfloor heating in the bathrooms and the Kitchen was wonderful. We stayed during Feb which was cold but the apartment was wonderful. The view was lovely, we also had our puppy with us so the short walk to the beach was great. We would 100% return. "

Two places that did wonderful full english breakfasts were On Shore and The Ocean Grill on the harbourside. I loved my coffee at Costa in Tesco (Carbis Bay) and the view from there must be the nicest of any Costa in the country. If anyone wants to experience a wonderful pasty i would say Rowes in Penzance or Helston are just gorgeous.   I have stayed at a number of popular hotels in St Ives but this was by far a better experience. The whole process from start to finish was straight forward and uncomplicated, many times over the years I have experienced less than satisfactory accommodation and service, this was not the case with Genoa our expectations were exceeded from the minute we met your representative, you seem to have this process spot on. We like the coffee shop in St Ives ‘The Hub’ for snacks and coffee, also the fish bar next door did amazing fish and chips…we always make a trip to the Tinners Arms at Zennor for lunch and that didn’t disappoint. We also had dinner a couple of times at The Badger Inn in Lelant, which had excellent food and service.   The standard of the accommodation and cleanliness was excellent, the greet/handover was efficient and the holiday more than met our expectations. What we particularly liked was the extra’s i.e. the cream tea. the pint of milk etc. We visited the Seal & Otter Sanctuary and Lappa Valley Steam Railway with our two year old granddaughter and although a little expensive for adults under 5’s are free and she loved every minute at both these venues. The Wyevale Garden Centre is an excellent coffee stop and we ate out twice at the La Casita, the food and service here was excellent and they were very accommodating to our granddaughter.The Eden Project is well worth a visit although quite expensivem, we used our Tesco Clubcard vouchers and for four adults (one of which was a concession i.e. over 60) it only cost £28 – good tip for prospective visitors." February was a lovely time to visit Carbis Bay, a time when many people probably wouldn't even consider visiting. The walk from Carbis Bay to St Ives is well worth taking, with some lovely views along the way. We can certainly recommend dining at the Porthminster Cafe' on Porthminster Beach. It is very popular, so booking is recommended. Also the Sea Food Cafe in Fore Street is well worth a visit, again booking is recommended. The Carbis Bay Hotel restaurant is also well worth a visit."
