Absolutely beautiful property and a wonderful time spent here with my family my if I was to be slightly critical the outside area could maybe do with a jet wash just to bring it up to the immaculate standard of the property this would not have to be done that frequently just every few years just to keep on top of the grime and weathering that has built up over the years on the patio floor and border brickwork but this is not taking anything away from the property that is superb thanks

  • "We regularly visit Carbis Bay and have stayed in many different types of accommodation."

We favoured booking Gwel an Godrevy primarily due to the Hot Tub. This addition is favoured by the whole family, sadly after 2 days of being at the property the hot tub started to gather a brown scum on the surface. As hot tub owners it then became apparent the tub was not cleaned prior to our arrival and even through several phone calls the tub was not cleaned until the morning of our departure. On top of this, the entire outside space was very dirty Very disappointing and thereby would not return. The interior is perfectly pleasant with a lovely view from the lounge but not worth the additional cost for outside space and hot tub.

Thank you for taking time to give us feedback, we are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with the hot tub. This doesn't match up with our usual standards and we will ensure that our high standards are maintained going forward. We hope you will reconsider booking with us again. Kind regards, the Carbis Bay Holiday team. Property Owner

  • "Hi, family of 2 adults and 2 children."

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a great location as you well know. All of the goods inside are excellent quality but the main thing that lets the property down is the bifold doors. They have been misused and unfortunately are so hard to open we didn’t bother most of the time. These would really need replacing. As the property is rented out many people are not educated on how to open and close them properly and they damage the rubber gaskets at the bottom. That’s exactly what has happened here and the tracks are rusty so they don’t even slide anymore. There are doors that would be better suited to this and I would be happy to explain if you did ever consider changing them. Other than this we would definitely recommend the property and even consider returning in the future.

  • "Very disappointed with the hot tub situation which we were only able to use about 4 days out of 7."

Also extremely disappointed to having them claim the good housekeeping bond for a mattress, a child’s mattress that had a useless protector on and not a waterproof protector which if are a good quality one they are very comfortable and not noisy, which is why they said they don’t supply them. I’m sure most customers would agree instead of being charged hundreds of pounds they would prefer a waterproof cover.

Thank you for your feedback. We were pleased that we were able to sort the hot tub issues out for you during your stay and that the owner kindly offered you a good will gesture for any inconvenience, which you accepted. Following your stay, from the damage found, unfortunately the owner decided on this occasion to deduct from your good housekeeping bond as they are having to pay out money themselves to resolve. We hope you understand, thank you. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

The sofas and chairs were wonderful and we would love to return again soon! The only issue was all the family complained about the comfort of the beds, too hard and not at all comfortable, we have a sealy mattress at home and we’re glad to get home to it. It was the same for all the guests so we would love to come back but please can you invest in some good quality medium mattresses as this makes a huge difference.

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback, we will share this with the owner of the property in case they wish to purchase replacements. We are glad you had a wonderful stay and hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Kind regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "The check in and check out times actually make the holiday more like 6days not 7 days."

The crockery needs checking for the correct quantities, only 4 mugs for example. The ventilator in the upstairs bathroom needs attention. We were hoping to stay an additional 3 nights but the charge was only £1.00 less than a full week. The property appeared on the website to be be available. We would have happily paid the pro rate weekly rate. There were only 2 of us and there would have been no additional cleaning, linen etc, disappointing. The property is in a fabulous position for views as well as easy access to the beach and walking opportunities and has the bonus of the hot tub. The parking is less than ideal but manageable but the bigger cars get it could prove an issue.

Dear Mary, thank you for taking the time to leave your valued comments following your recent holiday with at Gwel an Godrevy and we do hope you enjoyed another lovely stay in St Ives. With regards to the check-in and check-out times, I am pleased to advise these are currently under consideration and we hope to be able to amend these in the near future. • "The house was lovely, however, a few issues on arrival, mainly the hottub."

Water quality poor. Maintenance person turning up at 7am most days, disturbing us, thinking we had been broken into with someone walking around upstairs when we in bed. It got to the point we didn’t want to use the hot tub. It was filthy inside and grime all on the seats. It had taken the shine off the holiday that we paid a premium for and was looking forward to. Another example was the back door handle was broken and although fixed, could not lock the door. Could not get through to anyone as phoning was a waste of time!

Thank you for your Feedback following your stay at Gwel an Godrevy and we are pleased that you thought it was a lovely property. We are very sorry to hear of the issues you experienced with the hot tub during your stay, the owner has advised that it is maintained by a private company and the water is changed after every guest so would have been clean on your arrival. The company check the tub every few days and add chemicals as necessary. There are recommendations to follow to keep the water in premium condition including showering with soap before entry to ensure sun lotion, moisturisers and fake tan are removed, as these will affect the quality of the water and cause grime to build up in the tub. We are sorry you had a problem as we have had no other feedback of this kind. Kind regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner
