Kernow dream is a beautiful apartment which is almost perfect

Gorgeous apartment and a perfect fit for a family of 4.

The apartment is modern and well stocked and of course, the view from the living room is stunning. It's a few minutes (steep!) walk down to the beach and the train station (if you want to use it) is about 2 minutes from the flat. Carbis Bay itself is lovely if you're looking for a quiet place. In the off season, it's less than 10 minutes to St Ives so you get all the nice restaurants/cafes etc (no major crowds in April). Overall, a terrific stay.

We found the apartment very comfortable and clean, we enjoyed our stay.

When I read through some of the reports in the on-site recommendations book I noted some of the points were repeated. The main one was the condition of the opening windows and patio doors, it’s obvious that these require maintenance. On opening them it was very difficult to shut and lock them. Our main problem was the drain smell coming from the en- suite in our bedroom it was the thing that met us when walking through the door, it took to expensive air fresheners to overcome the smell, there is a definite plumbing problem in that when the toilets are flushed it is pulling the water out of the waste traps in either the sink or shower. Finally we found that not to have reclyling bins for paper and cardboard is not acceptable in the age we live in.

We had a couple of problems while staying in Kernows dream.

1/ No hot water on 2nd day (Sunday) 2/ No electricity Both problems to do with the boiler apparently My husband and I were impressed with the efficiency with which the problems were solved, from the initial phone call to the arrival of the plumber (twice) and the electrician who isolated the boiler and got the lights back on. Well done to the whole team and thank you all

Had a great holiday here - easy parking , well equipped apartment and a fantastic sea view.

Short steep walk to the train station which was very convenient for going in to St Ives. We had an issue with the tv remote and this was replaced the next day so the local team were very responsive. One small improvement would be to have access to apps on the tv - iplayer, Netflix etc. We would definitely stay here again - looking at dates for next year already.

Great place to base yourself to explore this part of Cornwall. Good transport links and lovely local beach.

We arrived at property to a fault showing on boiler tried to contact management team on the Saturday to no answer all night passed to 10.

30 pm and still no answer or reply from anyone at the management team or Sykes app via email or text message. We thought we’d better try to fault find ourselves and found the fault code was for the pilot light so tried to relight it hay presto we had hot water and a running boiler but still very low pressure. Also on entry to Kernows Dream we noticed the fridge smelled of stale milk,the shower trap was dirty full of hair etc, kitchen cupboard’s not cleaned to a very high standard the top of the cooker hood thick with dust a cobwebs etc TVs not working in bedrooms the list could go on not even a heat proof mat for putting anything hot on work tops no oven gloves either. We would describe the apartment as average at best plus points are the view beds fairly comfortable and at least the bedding was white and clean. It took till the Following Monday for anyone to contact me from Sykes how said they would get in touch with management company we had tried them again on the Monday morning around 9.10 am to be put on hold for a couple of minutes then cut off. Someone from the management team called me later that morning and said they would send someone around to correct issues which they did minus the tvs which started working later in the week. So all in all not a great experience at all for us wasting lots of time and stress trying to contact them this was a fathers day holiday we had booked and I’ll be honest not impressed at all with service especially from the management team i.e. you can’t contact them especially out of hours or even in working hours as we tried it to no answer. So all in all Kernows Dream wasn’t for us.

Great view chairs very comfy.

Couldn’t sort heating. Turned every thermostat down still warm. Close to enough to walk to St Ives or get the train in. Beaches are fantastic.

Very clean and comfortable apartment.

Good facilities. Good parking. Convenient location. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful apartment with a sea view.

Absolutely ideal for people with slight walking disability (2 steps) to get into apartment from the front door. We would visit again early next year if it's possible to rent. We found it very quiet this year as my car was the only one using the car park.

Really lovely apartment.

The views from the living room are stunning and on more than one occasion we just sat with the sliding doors open just watching the sea. The apartment was clean, tidy with everything we needed on hand. It would be useful to have instruction regarding the patio doors next to the doors due to the slightly confusing locking mechanism. Appears someone before us hadn’t closed and locked the doors properly and with the high winds and the living room outside door open it blew them open. I managed to close and lock them but took some figuring out. I appreciate the instructions are in the book in the drawer but you forget that sometimes in the moment. Overall though really loved our stay and would 100% come back again. Used Carbis Bay holidays before and always had a great service and accommodation.

Beautiful apartment very comfortable and clean we felt at home from the moment we arrived very good sea view and the little touches with coffee /tea/sugar and milk was really appreciated

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped.

Of particular note were the good quality armchairs and sofa and the attention to detail that was evident throughout. The apartment was in a good location close to the railway station and there were stunning views across the bay from the living room. There were a few minor issues such as difficulty in opening and/or locking some doors and windows. Also we had to take the door entry phone off the hook as it kept on randomly ringing. None of these detracted from our enjoyment however.

One of the most comfortable and incredible properties I've ever stayed in.

Listed exactly as seen, super comfortable beds, nice & clean decor (but not so clean you don't feel you can relax!) The view is to die for - a joy to wake up to and changes all the time with the different weathers and boats going by - lovely view to the left of St Ives and to the right of Godrevy lighthouse. Good well stocked kitchen with all implements and a dishwasher. Minutes to Carbis bay station with regular trains to St Ives or St Erth, previous visits to St Ives have felt more stressful due to the lack of parking so this was a brilliant location. It was a complete joy to stay here and hopefully we will be back very soon.

Lovely property with great views of the sea, albeit, over the roofs of other apartments.

The only reason I marked it down was that the bi fold doors and balcony screen were filthy which meant you couldn’t appreciate the view. I did clean them and it made a big difference, maybe they need a word with the cleaners. One other niggly thing there were no cleaning cloths, not a big deal as we bought some in the supermarket, but attention to detail gets you 5 stars Location is great , easy walk into St Ives or catch the train for £1. The hill up from the bay is very steep so if you have mobility issues it would be a problem

Good apartment only negative was the TV only very basic free view channels this not acceptable in 2024

The flat was clean and tidy with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Although ground floor from carpark (just 2 internal steps in hallway) you are 3rd floor in the building and therefore have an fantastic uninterrupted view from St Ives Island right over to Godrevy Lighthouse. The most comfortable sofa and chairs ever made it a treat and on that alone I would return!

Very satisfied with all aspects of our holiday.

A lovely stay, would come back again Children loved it Bigger than we thought it would be.

Everything you need to make your stay comfortable is there on hand . First time visit to carbis bay , in fact to Cornwall itself . It's such a beautiful place & has lots of stunning places to visit .

This property is a first class position, with lovely views, it's a shame about the height of the trees in the garden to the left but is not a problem at the moment.

We have stayed in a lot of property but the sofas are the best we have used and very comfortable, everything being on one level was a big bonus to. Parking off road was well laid out with good space. Thank you once again for another great week's holiday we will be back again soon. Brian

Breath-taking views.

Could have sat on the couch all week watching the sea, the boats, the birds, the bats, the fireworks! But, of course, we were off exploring - the train was fabulously handy - the walk to the beach was short and good exercise coming back! We loved the apartment. handy for the station at carbis bay.short walk ish to st Ives. Most important it was pet friendly. Unfortunately no longer, and like all in the visitors book,we are so disappointed we cannot return next year with the dog. we are willing to pay the hike in price for 2022,nearly 70%, but it would have to include taking the dog! best regards, DRT

Excellent location with short walk to train station.

Apartment was extremely clean and well equipped A Smart Tv would have been useful to access Netflix, Amazon etc

We are very sad it won't be dog friendly anymore, this means we can't go again

Kernows Dream, what is there not to love? Comfortable, spotlessly clean, apartment with wonderful views, conveniently located for St Ives and many of our favorite places. Sad to be leaving, BUT we will he back.

Fab Apartment, everything we could need.

Lovely view. Master bedroom very hot and no dressing table, but thats the only negative. Weather fantastic, train to St Ives very handy. Had lovely meals at the Gannet and Firehouse. Bit busy for our liking in St Ives, hopefully quieter in September when we visit again.

Our second time staying in Carbis Bay and we once again find a near perfect holiday home that we can't revisit because it will no longer be dog friendly. So we leave Kernow's Dream wishing all the future visitors as lovely a holiday as we have had. Thank you for a small taste of paradise.

Lovely place, great views from the lounge.

Can see the sunrise from the balcony about 6.30 am. Place is very warm. Windows in main bedroom and living room needed to be permanantly open. Loved the washing machine and dryer - no washing for me when I get home. Enjoy!

Our second stay in this lovely apartment.

Again, fully equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable week. Weather was very kind to us and we managed lots of coastal hikes. Absolutely lovely place to stay.
