  • "Lovely spacious apartment over 2 floors so feels more like a house."

The apartment was clean (looks like last years house keeping issues are sorted) and comfortable. Great views across the sea and coast. The apartment is well equipped and beautifully furnished with comfy sofas, lots of pictures and ornaments making it feel homely. Well positioned for the beach and to join the south west coastal path to st ives and beyond ( approx 30 min walk). Highly recommend Una kitchen and la Casita for close by restaurants

Dear Mrs Wild, Thank you for your wonderful feedback following your stay at Lighthouse View. We are pleased to hear you found the property beautifully furnished and well equipped and rated us highly. We do hope to welcome you back again soon! Best Regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. • "Superb holiday accommodation situated in an ideal position for access to public transport (Bus/Train), especially if you want to take a week of two off from driving, to enjoy the wonderful scenery as you take in the delightful Cornish coast from an open top bus or the coastal railway."

View the sea from lounge and bedroom or the tenants private terrace. Just 10 mins walk down to the idyllic beach of Carbis Bay, allow yourself a few extra minutes to get back to the accommodation from the beach as the incline will slow you down but thoroughly worth the effort, we are in our late 60's and with a couple of stops managed the walk back perfectly well - just have to pace yourself. The owner has furnished the accommodation to a high standard making it a pleasure to stay inside even if the weather outside is not so inviting. I can thoroughly recommend this accommodation as an ideal place to explore Carbis Bay and it's surroundings.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and the apartment is really lovely and comfortable, however we have had to downgrade our score slightly as we had a problem banging our legs on the end of the wooden bed frame in the main bedroom, my husband gashed his leg badly on it and we both came away with bruises."

Thank you very much for providing such lovely feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the property. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the wooden bed frame in the main bedroom. We will pop down to the property on the next change over and take a look to see whether any caps can be put on the beds to ensure this does not happen for other guests. • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lighthouse View."

We had everything we needed, it was well suited to our family with a little one. The property was spacious, clean/tidy and well decorated. A home from home. It is in an ideal location with beautiful sea views from the bedroom and living room. With St.Ives only a couple of minutes away on the train, which is a 30second walk from the property. There is also a fantastic coastal path walk into St.Ives and other neighbouring beaches. Local amenities to include a supermarket and pharmacy. Would definitely book again. Highly recommend.

  • "When we arrived on the Friday afternoon we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment."

We emailed you about our cleaning issues on the Saturday morning, later that morning we had a phone call from a Chester number apologising and informing us that the Housekeeper would be returning Saturday afternoon to address the issues. We also had an email from 'Property Management' at Carbis Bay, again apologising and stating that the Housekeeper would be with us that afternoon. Nobody came, so the three of us spent Saturday evening cleaning. Nobody contacted me from Carbis Bay Holidays for the remainder of our holiday. As the week progressed we noticed more and more things that led us to believe that the apartment had not been cleaned at all. We have been customers of Carbis Bay Holidays for nearly ten years and have always been impressed with the quality of the accommodation and the standard in which they are presented, so much so that we have never considered another letting agent when booking our Cornwall holiday. We are now not confident about booking for next year.

Dear Mike, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback for your recent stay at Lighthouse View. We are really sorry to hear that you didn't have the experience we would hope for. Here at Carbis Bay Holidays we have a high standard of cleanliness and we hope we get the opportunity in the future to show this to you. The points you have raised have been passed to our property management team and the housekeeper, we will be looking into it accordingly. We sincerely hope to invite you back. Kind Regards, Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Hi there We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Carbis Bay but unfortunately there were a few points with the property “Lighthouse View” that we were unsatisfied with and wanted to raise with you."

    1. On arrival we found the property was not fully cleaned. There were bits all over the stairs, sand between the cushions on the sofa and a big sticky footprint on the hallway floor. We have taken photos where possible but I had to Hoover the stairs and sofa on arrival. We hoovered all the bits up on arrival before we took photographic evidence. 2. The bedside cabinets in the main bedroom had not been emptied from the previous guests as we found birthday cards and a jewellery box present. 3. The maintenance at the property was disappointing, the shower was particularly off putting with black mould present and cracked tiles. The door bar between the lounge and hallway was cracked and damaged and the outside patio area was not maintained and was full of weeds. 4. There was a very unpleasant smell in the master bedroom, which did not disappear all week even after airing the room. We felt that the standard of the property did not meet the four star rating nor the standards shown in the pictures online advertising the property as maintenance was clearly needed, the property was also not cleaned to the standard we were expecting especially in the middle of the COVID pandemic and we were upset and disappointed on our arrival. We would appreciate if you could look into these concerns for us, we have used Carbis Holidays before and have always been happy with the stand provided but really felt that the property did not match the photos provided on your website when booked.

  • ""We had a lovely holiday and thought our apartment was great - spacious, bright, good location and comfortable."

The apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean on arrival. There were extra touches that made it special - little library of books, few DVDs (not that we had time to watch anything as the weather was so good). Places to Recommend - the Porthminster Cafe in St Ives was fab for both food or going for a drink (we did both). The coastal walk between Carbis Bay and St Ives was lovely and not too difficult (we managed it with a pram, though there are a few steps in a couple of places which might make it difficult for the elderly). The train between Carbis Bay and St Ives was great too and very quick with nice views. Having Coffee/Lunch in the conservatory at the Carbis Bay hotel had a fab view over the bay and the food was good. We enjoyed going to Lizard Point, the most southerly point, rather than Lands End as less commercial." J. Sendall

  • ""We thoroughly enjoyed our last minute short break at Lighthouse View."

The accommodation was of an excellent standard, very clean and we would be pleased to stay there again. Carbis Bay is ideally placed for visiting St Ives, either by the lovely coastal walk or two minute journey on the train, no need to use the car. The Seafood Café is very popular and booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. We took time to travel 30 minutes to beautiful Sennen Cove before returning home on the last day. Although we are relatively local we really felt like we had been away on holiday." J. Wright

  • ""We thought that overall Lighthouse View was excellent, everything was provided that we could possibly need."

The TV in the living room was excellent, the kitchen was fully equipped & the power shower in the bathroom was fabulous. Lighthouse View was light & spacious & had a relaxed feel about it. All the rooms were clean & fresh & looked like they had been newly decorated. We enjoyed the lovely views across the sea to the lighthouse from the living room & main bedroom. With regards to eating out we had excellent fish & chips to take away from the Porthminster Beach Cafe. In fact we thought that they were some of the best fish & chips that we have ever eaten (better than Rick Stein). We ate them on the tables provided on Porthminster beach, which was a fabulous location. We also had good food at the Badger pub, Lelant. The carvery was very good value & the crab salad was filled with loads of fresh crab & was excellent. Reen Manor riding stables at Perranporth did amazing beach rides, which I can thoroughly recommend & were well worth the £50 for two hours, so don't be put off by the price. Also we thought Perranporth beach was fabulous & can also recommend the pub the Watering Hole which was right on the beach. In fact we thought Perranporth was a really lovely seaside town & was one of our favourite places that we visited. We can also recommend the boat trip to see the seals from St Ives. The cost was £9 per person & lasted just over an hour. The seals were lovely, very friendly & kept swimming up to the boat, it was an amazing experience. We can also recommend the boat trip from Truro to Falmouth & back again. It was a pity we didn't have good weather the day we went, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the amazing views from the boat or the trip. The price was £12 per person return. Overall we had a lovely holiday, the weather was excellent, we thought that Cornwall was beautiful & every day there was a different surprise. The Cornish people were very friendly & helpful. We thought that Carbis Bay was a beautiful location & an ideal place to stay as it was a central location to get to most places in Cornwall." E & C Mole

Walks was the usual walk into St Ives & around the island, plus doing a circuit around Carbis Bay. A walk around Godrevy is a must as well. We have stayed in various of your properties in Carbis Bay but we found LV to be the most enjoyable from the moment you kick off your shoes it feels like home. We really enjoyed the Festival at the Lifeboat Inn & the Guildhall." C. & S. Garratt

  • ""We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Lighthouse View."

The weather was largely kind to us unlike many other parts of the country. We really appreciated being in the quiet of Carbis bay with our own parking space and enjoyed many walks along the road into St Ives and return by train, avoiding the longer hills on the way back. We enjoyed the town, the biz, the views, the shops, galleries and restaurants. We enjoyed all the beach cafe / bars, the Beach and Ocean View Restaurants on Shore Road and particularly liked the Seafood Cafe on Fore Street. We also enjoyed visits to Pendeen Beam Engine, Minnack Theatre, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole, Port Isaac and Padstow. We loved our first visit to St Ives and prefer modern accommodation. Lighthouse View was ideal for a couple such as us" J & D Johnstone

  • ""We enjoyed our holiday and regarded the accommodation at Lighthouse View as being the best we have experienced."

The location was ideal, Parking and driving has always been a problem in St.Ives, so Carbis Bay was more than ideal, with the 'one-stop' train journey into the town. The Carbis Bay Beach is beautiful, we used it several times, enjoying a late drink in the hotel on one occasion. The Tesco supermarket was handy, to stock up with basics, but we also ate out, and we visited 'Blas' in St Ives three times, the perfect antidote to chain burger eateries! Fish and Chips were also excellent at the Porthminster Cafe. We drove out to St Michaels Mount on the one rainy day during the holiday, Kynance Cove/The Lizard just a 40 minute drive away. Our son is keen on BMX biking, so we took him to Mount Hawke, whilst we had a coffee in St Agnes. We also visited the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and found some great art galleries in Penzance." K. The Lighthouse View apartment was beautifully appointed & spotlessly clean. We couldn't fault it & would definitely stay there again. It's position was also perfect for catching the train into St. Ives. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area it's impossible to pick out any one. Just try & see as much as possible, nothing will disappoint! For that special meal try the Porthminster Beach Cafe." M. Brewer

  • ""We had a great time at Lighthouse View thank you - the accommodation exceeded our expectations in terms of the facilities, finish and attention to detail were concerned."

We booked the holiday only a few days before arriving, but all the admin had completed with no problems. As to the places that we visited, we really enjoyed Botallack's tin mining heritage (and a seriously hot chicken curry in the Queen's Arms there), Mousehole, St Michaels Mount, Church Cove and Healeys Cider Farm. The walk to St Ives was very rewarding and hitting Padstow's May Day celebrations on the way to Carbis Bay was a real bonus." G. & S. Moss

We were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy time on Carbis Bay beach ( the water is so lovely and clear) and browsing in St Ives around the harbour and in the wide variety of shops. We went out for several excellent meals: Porthminster Beach Cafe, Alba and Alfresco and can highly recommend all three restaurants for lunch or dinner. Also, Beck’s fish and chips is not to be missed!" P. Pert
