  • "The holiday property was clean and very comfortable."

Beds excellent, bed linen and towels were very good quality. Hot tub and beach house a real bonus. Well equipped kitchen however, a few more dinner plates would be helpful as there were only seven. If they were used at breakfast and/or lunch, there were not enough for dinner in the evening. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of hot water. Coming back from the beach with two toddlers, we needed to give them a hot shower. Hot water was not plentiful, the tank was small and set to only heat up twice a day. I contacted Sykes on the Sunday and was given some very helpful advice from Conor. He told me that this issue had been mentioned before in previous feedback. The owners were contacted and we were told how to boost the hot water. This rectified the problem to a certain extent. The floor of the wet room became very slippery after use. My daughter is 10 months pregnant and I have just had a total hip replacement; the floor was far too slippery for us to navigate. Using the other toilet in the en suite bedroom is an option during the day but not once people had gone to bed. A rigid squeeji mop would help to move the water to the drain. Alternatively, a rubber mat would have helped. My grand daughter, who is only two, slipped and had a nasty bang in her head. A long handled broom/ dustpan and brush would also be helpful. In summary, we had a really lovely holiday. Would certainly use Sykes company again.

First of all with reference to both bathrooms there are rubber baths mats and commercial extractors. The wetroom has a extractor that will clear the water in 15mins. The water tank is immersion not gas...simple. The overide switch does indeed rectify any overuse in water should you drain the tank. There is a hoover, steam mop, dustpan and brush which I think sufficient. There is a dishwasher at Moorside. You mentioned that you had a really good holiday im so glad you enjoyed all that Moorside has to offer. Thank you for your comments and indeed the 94 out of 100 score... Property Owner

  • "A great find!"

Lovely, well furnished property perfect for what we wanted. Hot tub is a fab addition. Garden is perfect for little ones to potter round in. We booked a travel for and high chair, both of which were ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Lovely touch of a welcome basket too. Did contact owners regarding one issue which was very quickly rectified. Walkable to Carbis Bay beach and a lovely restaurant - the Gannett. 5 min drive to St. Ives. Great spot and would definitely look to stay again if in Cornwall. Thanks so much!

Hi Kate thanks for the glowing reference for Moorside. So glad you and your family had a great time.We are slightly biased but we love Moorside. Pete and i designed and built Moorside with comfort and ease in mind. All from an old chalet! Hope to see you again x Lisa & Pete Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay at Moorside."

The house is in a great location for Carbis Bay and St Ives. The renovation has been done to a really high standard with all the modern touches to make it really comfortable and homely. Little touches like a welcome hamper with fresh coffee and Cornish tea were a welcome surprise after a long journey too along with the hot tub with convenient beach house right next to it. The only point for improvement would be that the water tank is quite small so is a little difficult for a group of 5 or 6 to all shower in the evening or morning. But the owner was really helpful over text message explaining how to manually turn it on. Would definitely recommend in the future. X

Thanks Jennifer for the kind words we are really please you enjoyed your stay and all that Moorside has to offer. The water tank is on the small side but its the only place it could be located for the esse cooker to heat. Easily solved with hitting the overide button does come on twice a day morning and afternoon! If the dishwasher is used rather than handwashing water is sufficient.
