  • "We had a fantastic week in Ocean Blue definitely had the WOW factor as soon as you opened the door."

    The views from the sitting room across to the sea and beyond were lovely especially with the double doors open. It had everything you could think of to suit your needs and more besides. The Dyson air conditioning units in the bedroom and sitting room were a blessing as they were programmed to come on automatically when the apartment got too hot and cooled it down in no time.The blinds in all the rooms were operated by the touch of a button, lights came on when you walked into the hall and bathroom. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. We felt very comfortable staying here and didn’t want to come home.The bus stopped right outside so we didn’t have to use the car as they ran very frequently. The train station was about a 5 minute walk. There is a supermarket and fish and chip shop just down the road. The fish and chips were lovely . The owners John and Maggie text the day before we arrived and the day before we went home to wish us safe journeys and if there was anything needed to get in touch. We have already booked again for next year and can’t wait to return.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Ocean Blue."

    What a beautifully modern and tastefully decorated flat, spotlessly clean and fragrant. Everything has been thought of, from the convenient high tech (with Alexa controlling the lights,etc) to the high spec equipment such as the Dyson fan and hairdryer. The view from the living room out onto the bay is beautiful. The flat's position on the main road is so convenient with the bus stop right outside - frequent daily buses to St Ives meant we could largely forget about the car which was safely parked for the week in the allocated bay within the front courtyard. The Gannet Inn, also just across the road, is also very convenient and provided lovely meals in a comfortable environment. Beautiful Carbis Bay beach is a short walk down a very steep hill - allow more time to walk back up - it's really quite a climb! Thank you to John and Maggie for their kind messages just before our arrival and departure. Overall an excellent holiday for myself and my husband on our first visit to Cornwall. We really look forward to returning soon!

  • "Ocean Blue really lived up to its name with gorgeously themed interiors and all the creature comforts you could wish for."

    John and Maggie have such fabulous attention to detail which made our stay perfect and wishing to stay longer. On arrival, we were met by the wonderful smell of lavender in the apartment and a fantastic choice of music courtesy of AirPlay in every room. The Cornish biscuits, apple juice and milk left in the fridge was a welcome sight - so too the plentiful supply of tea, coffee etc and state of the art appliances. It truly is a fabulous apartment and we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you so much John and Maggie for the 5 star treatment!

  • "This is the second time we have stayed here and it was just as good as the first."

    Everything was of top quality, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay home from home. The cleanliness was spotless the view from the living room is stunning. The kitchen facilities are superb. We tried to book for next year but it was fully booked on the weeks we needed. This does not surprise me as I would recommend this property to everyone.

    9th to 23rd..This is the best self catering apartment we have stayed in and would highly recommend it. The view from the lounge is fantastic. The fixtures and fittings are all top quality.   • "Wow! What a place, what a view!"

    We loved spending the week at Ocean Blue . The apartment was spotless and the fixtures and fittings all feel brand new and we loved the tech, especially the music in every room .The view from the living room is fabulous and the parking space is a very welcome bonus.   • "This was a beautiful apartment and short of absolutely nothing!"

    Well equipped with everything we could ever need to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Spotlessly clean throughout. Lovely clean, soft bed linen and such a comfortable bed! Well located for the beach, stunning coastal walks and in easy reach of a selection of places to eat and drink. The local buses stopped right outside, and the train station was just a short walk away. Having an allocated parking spot at the front of the property made unloading and loading so easy and convenient. Overall an absolutely top-notch place to stay. Very highly recommended!!!

We found Ocean Blue to be very well located with short walk to Carbis Bay beach and the train station for the one stop into St Ives itself.   • ""I stayed here May 2021 and upon entry to the property was blown away by how lovely it was laid out."

    The kitchen is kitted out with the latest vintage Smeg appliances and I must give 5 stars to the coffee machine alone. Blinds, lights sounds all centrally controlled by Amazon Alexa and Ipad was very impressive. The view out of the sitting room window is something else and the owner has clearly thought of everything as a pair of binoculars is available to view the lighthouse and boats active in the bay. Both TV's in the property are exceptional and linked up to Sky and Netflix. And the IPAD has Spotify installed and is linked via Airplay to the superb Denon sound system which can be directed to any room in the property. I had a lovely bath while listening to some Nightwish and Grieg. I haven't even mentioned the quality of the sitting and sleeping furniture. The sofa is very comfy and the bed is like a blanket of clouds, so soft and luxurious.This is by FAR the best property I've stayed in and would not hesitate in re-booking here again.Hats of the the owner, they have clearly thought a lot about the look and feel of this property. You can tell a lot of love and dedication have gone into it..Well played! (If there were 6 stars I would give them!!)"

The property

Enjoying an elevated position over the bay, at Godrevy View Apartments, in Carbis Bay, this one bedroom, first floor apartment, enjoys sea views from its living area, with the South West Coast Path, St Ives scenic railway and beaches all within a short walk.

Sleeping two, it’s idyllic for a couple’s romantic escape to the Cornish coast.

The kitchen, dining and sitting area are all within a spacious open plan living area, benefiting from far-reaching stunning sea views from the glazed French doors and small window, which with the Velux windows floods the whole space with natural light, making it bright and airy, throw open the French doors, with Juliette balcony, and breathe in the healthy sea air, cosy up on the corner sofa, set the ambient lighting and enjoy the entertainment on the large television with a Sky package, including cinema and Netflix, or listen to your music on the Denon music system with airplay, which links your devices throughout the apartment.

The kitchen/diner is within the open plan living area, ideal for socialising with the chef.

a glass dining table with four white leather chairs, offer a lovely setting for a romantic meal for two, the contemporary kitchen with base level units and spacious granite work surfaces, is well-appointed with everything you need for your holiday, a washer/dryer is housed in the utility cupboard off the hallway. The master King-sized bedroom is light and airy, with a large bay window letting in natural light and ceiling spotlights to let you set the ambience to suit, it’s well presented with a sumptuously dressed bed and plenty of storage space. A family bathroom with bath and shower over, is conveniently located next to the bedroom, it has ceiling speakers so you can enjoy a long relaxing soak listening to your favourite tunes.

A short walk leads you to shops, restaurants, and supermarkets, it’s also convenient for local busses to St Ives and the scenic railway which covers the surrounding area, running beside the beaches with stunning sea views, and connects to the main line for the rest of Cornwall, an alternative way to explore is by the nearby South West coast path, this cliffside walk heads to Hayle or Carbis Bay and St Ives, Carbis Bay is a stunning secluded beach with crystal clear, blue flag awarded waters and golden sandy shores, it has a seasonal lifeguard service, so a great place to try surfing or for a swim. St Ives is simply stunning, the pretty Cornish fishing village is surrounded by white sandy beaches and set around a pretty arc shaped harbour, a foodies favourite with a variety of cafes and restaurants to dine out, some like the Michelin Plate, Porthminster Beach Café, set right on the beach, the town’s cobbled streets are filled with boutiques and galleries full of local art, St Ives has inspired many artist and the most famous are celebrated at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
