  • "Whilst this is a beautiful apartment in a superb location, there were a few things that made me mark it down."

The cleanliness was not great. On arrival, I went to use the loo, and the toilet seat was dirty. There was what appeared to be congealed urine on the seat. I wiped it, and the wipe was filthy. There looks to be urine in the gap at the bottom of the lid, too. The bath had a white powdery coating in it, so I didn't use it. The bath, sink, and shower all look like they need to be sealed as there is a gap in some parts. The double bedroom has mildew on the windows and the net curtains. I wiped the kitchen work surface down as there was something on it near the sink, and again, the cloth was quite dirty. The oven door did not close properly, so we did t use this. We emptied the kitchen bin on leaving, and there was some eggshell and other rubbish in the bottom. Generally, we felt that the lounge was a bit run down. The sofas feel like they don't have much support in the seats. The chairs in the window are grubby. The pillows on one of the sofas were torn, and one had a big stain on the back. The pillows on the window seats were also stained. The windows themselves looked like they had been cleaned but were all smeared, so we did the big window ourselves. One night, we had strong winds and rain, and both were coming through the big window. The wind was coming in at the hinges, which made an awful noise. It was also blowing through under the window sill. We couldn't work out where the rain had come in, but the window sill was soaked the length of the main middle window. The other thing that concerned me was that the info book seems very out of date. It mentions window keys in case of fire. However, this was nowhere to be found. In any case, even with getting the window open, you wouldn't be able to get out as there is no window ladder. There is also no fire blanket in the kitchen. The emergency torch didn't work. Despite the above, we enjoyed our holiday, and the apartment is in a great location, we just feel like the owners should be made aware of these issues. We would give this apartment another chance as it is a good size, bright and the location is amazing.

The maintenance team did get the oven working midweek but not the washer due to a part. This did mean we couldn’t use for self catering which was disappointing.

We hope that has not caused a problem. There is a chance that the information was at the property but it was missed, , we only just noticed this e- mail on our computer when we returned home.

Thank you for letting us know and that's no problem at all. We do hope you enjoyed your holiday at Seathrift an we look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "This apartment is all about the view which is breathtaking."

There were some cobwebs, the kitchen tap is loose, the grill is so hot it's unusable even on it's lowest setting. The bath seal is split and a big gap opens up when you fill it with water. The living room lamp turns itself up and down and all the other lights are too bright for a relaxing evening with that amazing view. The bed is very comfortable and the apartment very spacious, I like the querky layout and all the windows. Thanks for the bluetooth speaker, nice touch. The parking is very tight, my car only just squeezed in so if you have a big Chelsea Tractor you might not get it in. It was perfectly ok once in and nice to be under cover to keep the car cool in summer. To be honest, that's all irrelevant once you've seen the view.

  • "This was our second visit to Seathrift."

The apartment is still very comfortable and the view is amazing. We always enjoy the coastal path walk to St Ives and the walk in the other direction to Porth Kidney sands and Lelant. The station is very handy for a very quick ride to Penzance. The jigsaw puzzles are a great idea. On one of the extremely wet and windy days we enjoyed working on the St Ives one. Unfortunately there is a missing piece (my husband has left a note in the box). We hope to visit again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave Feedback following your recent holiday at Seathrift and we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed the fabulous views across the Bay from the apartment. Thank you for letting us know about the missing jigsaw piece, we’ll see what we can do about this. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. • "Thank you for making our holiday amazing."

We couldn't have asked for anything more. A beautiful view of Carbis Bay from the comfort of a very clean, well equipped apartment. The only place where we can suggest an improvement is the parking, we have an SUV so the parking space was uncomfortably tight. Althoigh the great rail links and bus network meant we didn't use the car much anyway. A lovely place to stay.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you loved the property and your stay! The parking measurements can be found on our website, to make guests aware of the spaces size prior to booking. Thank you again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back in the future. We think that the property should have an iron and ironing board , one was provided for us as we requested , also it would be good to have a full length mirror , maybe one that could be fitted to the inside of the wardrobe door of the main bedroom due to lack of space elsewhere , On a positive note this property was very well decorated with a really comfortable bed and absolutely stunning views and would definitely stay again

Thank you for you lovely feedback. We can confirm that there is an iron and ironing board in every property with us and the one at Seathrift was left in a visible location as per your request. It really didn’t bother us but I wanted to let you know as I don’t know if anyone else said anything. We loved the games that were left in the cupboard, the rooms had amazing mattresses and the view out of the living room was very good. Breathtaking. Loved the fact that it had a shower and a bath together , since we don’t have a bath in our house it was very nice to take one on the holiday. The property is very close to the beach, and we managed to find another beach with less people and it wasn’t that far away. We would really like to visit back again.

  • "Cornwall is stunning, Carbis Bay is absolutely beautiful, the property is almost perfect."

Smallest of issues - electric shower pressure is a bit lower than I would like but absolutely fine. The view from the living room is exactly as the pictures show - beautiful. The kitchen is fully equipped and the little extras - books, DVDs, board games, beach equipment is the icing on the cake. The place is clean and tidy. I would thoroughly recommend the property - our kids (4 and 6) absolutely loved their stay here. The hill to walk back up is a bit of a killer, especially with all the beach stuff, but it's manageable - our kids managed to walk up it when required. Alternative is to walk up and drive down to do a pick up. I would definitely stay at Seathrift again.
