  • "Internet is a bit Hit and Miss."

    It was clean and comfortable and was a good base for our Holiday. Being a loft apartment the ceilings are a bit low so be aware when looking at it. However, a good place to stay for 2 people

  • "Perfect stay at the Hideaway!"

    Spotlessly clean and fresh on arrival. Cost, quiet and very clever use of space. Very comfy bed with high quality bedding and towels. Big comfortable sofa. Great TV. Yes, you have to watch your head on the eves but it's an attic apartment! Am excellent example of pet friendly accommodation without compromising cleanliness. Also, great location for Carbis Bay and bus route to St Ives.

  • "The apartment was not clean at all."

    The bathroom had hairs and dirt in the shower, sink and on the toilet, there was also cobwebs in the shower and we were left with 2 half used toilet rolls and no hand wash. The shower is quite dangerous as it comes out either freezing or scolding and is very difficult to find a suitable temperature meaning we burnt ourselves a few times. The floor throughout was very dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned, there was a dead fly on the floor in the bedroom. The sofas in the lounge were filthy, so much so we didn’t even sit on them, they had stains on them and even the throw used on one was dirty as if it hadn’t been replaced/washed from the previous guests. The bedding had rips in and there were no cleaning products in the apartment to try and resolve the issues so we had to buy our own. There were also no spare bin bags for rubbish. It’s a huge shame as this was our first family holiday with our 3 month old and we felt like we couldn’t enjoy the apartment because we were too worried about the lack of cleanliness, especially with our baby. We made this known on our first night to Sykes and they tried to contact Carbis Bay Holidays and received no response, and we are still awaiting a response after leaving nearly 2 weeks later. The apartment is in a great location and could be lovely if it had been cleaned and some of the issues sorted. Overall we were really disappointed and wouldn’t book again.

  • "This was our second visit to the property so we obviously love it."

    Perfectly positioned for what we wanted, visiting the beautiful Carbis Bay beach and StIves. The only draw back for my partner is the sloping ceiling as he is very tall, also the flights of stairs were more difficult this year ( age is not kind) We had to move the bed to retrieve a dropped item and found a lot of dust etc. However the rest of apartment was spotless.

  • "Apartment was lovely my only complaints would be we were not advised there would be no cutlery knifes forks etc we assumed as there was everything else we would have those, we had to go buy."

    We also weren’t aware we were on the top floor and have a baby so was pretty difficult to keep getting up and down 3 sets of stairs a lift would’ve been very helpful the room also only had sky light windows which wasn’t great for ventilation or when it rained as couldn’t let any fresh air in.Lastly as a pet friendly accommodation would’ve been better if the sofa in living space was fully leather as they held a dog smell from being soft velvet also had many marks on which didn’t fulfill me with confidence about how clean it was, full leather would’ve been a lot easier to wipe to give confidence of cleanliness. Other then that stay was pleasant

  • "A small flat."

    The pictures were not misleading, but the layout was all wrong. The kitchen area was right in the corner, and I kept banging my head on the ceiling next to the fridge. The floor was dirty and the vacuum cleaner had loads of long hair stuck in it. There were no instructions or user manual for the oven, so I had to download one to work out how to use it. The sofa was dirty and needed cleaning before we sat on it, although to be honest it still looked dirty after that. Overall, some work needs to be done to improve what could be a cosy flat. Not worth what we paid for it.

  • "Water pressure in the shower was poor and the Wi-Fi rarely work which was particularly annoying on the evenings apart from that it was lovely."

  • "The instructions on how to entre the property left some room for interpretation."

    Also, the WiFi was not working. The frustration of this came from being unable to restart the router, as this is the most common way of resolving this issue. The guide made it clear that complaints about the WiFi would not be accepted, however I do feel WiFi is now an expected service.

As described in the Quick Start Guide of the property we are unfortunately not always able to offer technical support to enable the Wi-fi connection due to the number of third parties involved i.e. Internet Service Provider, British Telecom etc.. Therefore we cannot guarantee that the service will be available at all times.   • "Very nice apartment that suited my partner and I and our Springer spaniel well."

    A frying pan and a few more kitchen utensils would have been helpful. Our stay was the week before the heat wave and the apartment was hot so I think the following week would have been unbearable. Generally very happy with our holiday.

  • "The property is well maintained, very spacious and was spotlessly clean."

    The lounge provided a lovely relaxing area with comfy settees and a large tv, especially after some long walks! The kitchen was well equipped for our stay and the coffee machine was an added bonus as was the complimentary welcome pack, local apple juice, biscuits, milk and chocolates, what a lovely touch! The bed was super comfy, and the linen of a high standard.Perhaps more storage in the bedroom would be my only suggestion. The bathroom was of high spec and again spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend this apartment and Carbis Bay Holidays as they also provide a great service and quick to respond to any questions.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea.
