  • "I have to say this place was fabulous, the owners thought of everything."

It was perfect, welcoming, completely dog friendly and all perfectly as described. We loved the comfy beds and the hot tub most of all. The property was super clean to top it all, On arrival we were given scones, clotted cream and jam, plus a bottle of wine, and not forgetting the dogs, there were treats for them too. This is the best cottage we’ve ever booked.

  • "The best cottage we have stayed at."

From the moment we stepped in it was perfect. Cozy, homely, warm and has everything you could want at home. The hot tub was a blissful way to relax after all the walking days. There are some beautiful beaches only 20 minutes away and an amazing Chinese in the village. It's a great place to stay and we have already booked our return!

Thank you for your wonderful review you’re so kind. We’re so pleased that you all enjoyed your stay at Kensa and that you’ve already booked for your November return. Property Owner

  • "We had amazing holiday at Kensa."

Property was warm on arrival. Owner had given us Easter eggs, coffee and milk, lovely wine and even treats for our dog. Property was immaculately clean, Modern and had everything that you may wish for. Personal touches were really lovely. We loved all the picture canvases of the local places with post codes on the wall. Welcome folder was very informative. Jacuzzi was amazing and clean. It is emptied and cleaned between every bookings. If cleanliness is important for you, then this is the place! Property was spotless! Reading the previous reviews, everything that had been mentioned by previous quest had been rectified. I.e. there now is a laundry aerial. You really don't need to take any household items with you. These is toilet and kitchen paper, dishwasher /laundry tablets, cleaning liquids, and even towels for the muddy paws. We will defenately return.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback , very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Kensa. We really love it there too Property Owner

  • "The property was lovely and also clean throughout."

Jacuzzi was perfect and nice to have. Good location for venturing out and about. Only one gripe and that was the ground source heating facilities. We went in January during the extremely wet period so always returned home soaked, there was no means of drying clothes or shoes/trainers or swimwear after using the Jacuzzi etc.

Hi Mick Thank you for your review. We totally agree and it had never occurred to us until we read the last few reviews. We only began letting this property at Easter and hadn’t experienced a winter there yet. An electric heated clothes drier has been ordered for Kensa for our future guests to dry their clothes etc. Our apologies to you all. Property Owner

  • "Kensa is a lovely property and the owners' little touches are wonderful."

The welcome pack of wine, mince pies and chocolates went down a treat, as did the fact that they had decorated Kensa for Christmas including a tree Its ideal for dogs and towels and treats are provided for them as well. Everything is provided re towels and linen but would suggest that bring own towels for hot tub be added in description as a note ask that the white towels not be used for hot tub. Underfloor heating took a while to get use to and at times it felt cold The cooker is also a little temperamental especially if you put the wrong pan on, it doesn't recognise the weight and turns itself off. Cornwalls weather was at its wettest so due to the lack of a clothes horse it was hard to get items dry. The hot tub though was fabulous and was used daily in all weathers We would recommend Kensa to others because over all it was one of the best we have stayed in.

  • "This is a lovely property very clean and well maintained, loved how homely it felt."

The bed was so comfy slept really well, there was everything there that you could possibly need. My only criticism would be the electric hob, it was a nightmare took ages to come on so not sure if it is faulty, only other was the TV we couldn't get the normal TV with BBC ITV etc so not sure if it was us or if it wasnt available. These are the two things that would deter me from staying again, other than that it was lovely

Thank you for your lovely feed back. For all future guests, we highly recommend that you read the guest information book, as this has all the information you require for where all keys are kept and the operators manuals for all of the appliances in the bungalow, we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible. The book also explains the wifi and tv operation. Property Owner

  • "Property was very clean and decorated beautifully."

The bed was too soft and pillows too hard (for our liking) so didn’t get much sleep during our stay. Great location to visit places in area. Property did have a bit of a doggy smell about it, especially once returning from day out and was warm inside. Hot tub was wonderful

  • "Kensa was ideally located for exploring the sights of Cornwall."

Quiet location and very private. Had everything you could possibly need or want. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Very well thought out. Bed extremely comfy. A special welcome basket of scones and jam and cream, wine and milk, which were delicious. The hot tub was just perfect after a long day exploring to relax in. Seating areas front and back were lovely to sit out with a cuppa in the sunshine. It was well equiped with all kitchen utensils, like a home from home. Thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay

  • "When arrived we could not find the patio door keys once found everything was easier."

My husband and I are a couple of dinosaurs when it comes to technology so when on description it said smart tv we thought we would get freeview (there’s no aerial) the only thing you can get is on app’s Netflix etc. if you bring you own logins etc (whatever they are). Also it would be handy if instructions booklets on how to work kitchen appliances ie microwave and induction hob. The Kensa was beautiful clean and is very central to all areas the bungalow Is on a corner plot and you have to be very careful when driving in and out. The paintings around the bungalow where very informative. If you are thinking of going to St Ives I would leave very early as parking there is terrible it’s also very hilly if you have any mobility problems. All In all we had a good stay in Cornwall but won’t be returning as it’s long drive from Wales.

About the location

ST DAY

Porthtowan 5 miles; Portreath 6 miles; Truro 7 miles; St Ives 20 miles; Falmouth 10 miles.

St Day was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese takeaway, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 7 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
