  • "It was mostly comfortable but we didn’t find the large semi circular sofa particularly comfortable place to sit and a coffee table for drinks would have been useful."

    No washing up liquid but otherwise a well stocked kitchen. Could have done with a hook for the shower in the main bathroom. Only 2 large bath towels for 4 adults. Having said all that we would book the accommodation again as it has a lot going for it.

  • "Spinnaker was fantastic we booked as a family of four with two small children there was a high chair and loads of brilliant toys my toddler loved."

    The place was clean and very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. David rang the day before to check everything was ok and make sure we had all the information prior to arrival. Will definitely be looking to return. Thank you.

  • "Lovely house in a quiet area."

    Clean and comfortable and we loved the range of board games, especially on a rainy day! Ideal place to stay as it’s not far from the beach and places to eat. Close to attractions such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Jail and several castles.

  • "The house is on a fantastic location and is lovely and clean."

    We had issues with the TV from the start, the freesat loses signal about every 10 seconds and is unwatchable, so I had to buy a firestick. The blind in the kitchen doesn't work and as there is a path at the side of the property you do have people walking past the window. Not an issue in the day, but feels uncomfortable when it's dark. Some of the fixings in the bathrooms need re-doing, as they are pulling out of the wall. We did have a great stay, but would be even better if these issues were addressed.

  • "The house is well maintained and offers everything, one would need: 3 (!"

    ) toilets, a bathtub and a shower, comfortable beds, wardrobe in every bedroom, bedside tables, well equipped kitchen, even boardgames for the odd rainy day

  • "The property could really benefit from some maintenance and upgrades."

    The appliances in the kitchen are leaking and you spend more time cleaning water than enjoying your stay. The blinds are so old they have been superglued back together numerous times and they have frayed. Heaven forbid you try to open them. The television is so old and grainy the picture quality is terrible. And the sofas feel like they was purchased from a charity shop ten years ago. ‘‘Twas more comfortable to be sat on the floor. Unable to contact both Sykes or the landlord during our stay. Neighbours constantly complaining that the property is protected by a convenance the prevents the owner from renting it out. Relaxing stay? No chance.

    Thanks for your feedback. Having reviewed it carefully we replaced the blinds in the kitchen and also the sofa in the living room for added guest comfort. The TV is only a few years old; as it uses a freesat box, poor picture quality may have been due to inclement weather. And having carried out a full inspection, there are no leaky appliances in the kitchen. There are no restrictive covenants in place and there are many other holiday lets in close vicinity.   • "Good location, close to Charlestown Harbour and visitor attractions."

    Spotlessly clean. Needs local information Doctors hospital vet etc and eating places takeaways supermarkets etc and WiFi no. Sofa uncomfortable but overall everything very good

A delightful and much sought-after coastal village of stone cottages and Regency houses, on the south coast near St. Austell. Famous for its collection of tall ships riding at anchor in the harbour, the shipwreck museum, excellent pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path, Charlestown is the perfect holiday destination. It has even been used as a filming location, most well-known for appearing in Poldark. The area is rich in golf courses with Carlyon Bay and Porthpean close by. The picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey is 6 miles away by car, while the Lost Gardens of Heligan, several stately homes and gardens and the fabulous Eden Project are all within 5 miles, with Newquay and North Cornwall coast 17 miles away.
