  • "Very comfortable but we never managed to come to terms with the heating."

Weather was not good & it would have been better if we could have been able to put heating on in evening - but we couldn't. Also the instructions for working the cooker were not in any order.

  • "Absolutely loved the barn!"

Great location and has everything you need! One of the nicest places we have stayed! My only issue is that the shower in the main bathroom didn’t work and we were not made aware

Hi, so glad you loved the barn and hope you had a wonderful holiday. Regarding the shower, did you switch it on using the pull cord inside the bathroom first as it’s electric? We tested it the same day you left and it was fine so I wonder if that was the issue? Property Owner

Tucked away in a quiet area but main roads easily accessible making it a great location for visiting places on both the north and south coast. Lots of space for 4, extremely clean , great showers and the kitchen has everything you could need. Would definitely return.

Although we had an issue with the shower, Sykes and the owner did everything possible to resolve it. Despite being unable to we were still able to enjoy our holiday and loved sitting outside. We would definitely return if we revisit Cornwall it was a lovely little hamlet.

  • "EXCEPTIONAL!"

We had a wonderful holiday in wonderful potters Barn. The furnishings are beautiful and the attention to detail was absolutely second to none and so much appreciated, making it feel like home from home…..in fact I could live there! The welcome goodies were such a treat, thank you! Everything you could wish for in a rental property was provided. It is also ideally situated for getting to all the ‘hotspots’ such as St Ives, Padstow, Porthleven, Mousehole etc. After a full day out it provides such a peaceful haven to come back to and totally relax. We were incredibly lucky with the weather all week until the day we were leaving and it was a bonus having a lovely outside space that caught the sun all day. So much so, maybe a couple of sun loungers would be a good idea. We have stayed in some beautiful barn conversions over the years in Cornwall but Potters Barn comes top! Thank you so much and we sincerely hope to be back next year. Sally, Dave and Brenda

Very quiet and peaceful location, we loved listening to the owls at night. The weather was not on our side unfortunately but it was lovely to come back to a warm and cozy cottage after a full day in the rain. Thank you for all the goodies for the humans and the pup!

  • "Potters Barn is in a great quiet location and a perfect base to explore this part of Cornwall, easily accessible to get to the beautiful coast and bays on the Lizard Peninsula, St Ives and the industrial mining heritage around Redruth."

The cottage is well appointed and very warm, with large comfortable beds and sofas. There is an enclosed garden area for dogs. We would heartily recommend Potters Barn - you will not be disappointed.

  • "Hello. We have just returned home after a few days in the barn."

The place was spotless when we arrived. The living area was really spacious and lovely, we met our newest newborn grandson whilst staying at the barn, it was nice to be able to bring him and his mummy to have some tea with us. We would have written in the guest book but we didn't have a pen and found not find one. Just wanted to say Bowie really enjoyed the treats and we loved the fact that there was milk in the fridge. Hubby and kids enjoyed the scones, jam and cream and biscuits ( I'm gluten intolerant so unfortunately had to let them scoff them all). Thank you for a cozy stay

  • "Hi lovely stay in this wonderful cottage - very well equipped and comfortable very quiet and comfy beds/sofa!"

An extra set of cutlery would be very welcome to avoid continously washing up! The velux windows were not clean but appreciate this is no mean task! the bedroom rooms windows could benefit from a clean 2 Minor things as we had a lovely stay but also found the fridge not cold enough!

Thank you for the feedback - glad you had a lovely stay here! I think the window cleaner came on the day you left as we’d been waiting to them to come. And we’ve added another 8 person set of cutlery so there’s plenty. A brand new fridge/freezer has just been installed so that should hopefully sort that issue. Thanks again for taking the trouble to leave feedback. Property Owner

  • "Wow. We've just come back from a 5 night stay at Potters Barn."

(Two adults and a dog). I normally do fairly short and sweet reviews but as I think this is a fairly new place, I thought it might be useful for others to see all the wonderful things on this property. Parking - there's ample parking for at least 2 cars..maybe 3 compact ones Amenities - absolutely everything was thought of. On arrival we had scones, jam, clotted cream, tea bags, milk provided in the fridge, salt and pepper, washing up liquid, tea towels, shampoo and conditioner bottles, laundry and dishwasher tablets, cookies AND the cutest jar of dog treats and gift bag containing a ball and more treats! All the little things that make such a difference. Water pressure (I know this sounds lame...!) - absolutely phenomenal. The en-suite shower from the king sized bedroom was incredibly refreshing. As hot sleepers we found the duvet a little much for us but we had our own fan to keep us cool. Speaking of fans, a brilliant remote control tower one was supplied in the upstairs living area and that helped keep it cool on our warmer days. Stairgate - there was a soft mesh style stairgate at the top and bottom of the wooden spiral staircase. This was very easy to use and stopped the dog from coming downstairs at night time. Garden - plenty of room for the dog to roam around. We kept him on a long line as he has a tendency to jump over fences. TV & sound bar - fantastic quality. We were able to log into our Netflix and watch our shows. Kitchen - the hob, oven, microwave, sink etc all look brand new and all the utensils were clean and easy to find. The only thing we had a slight issue with was that we couldn't seem to keep the fridge cold. It wasn't a major issue for us as we were only keeping drinks and butter cool. We did email the housekeeping address and got a reply within 24hrs - we didn't need anyone to visit to look at it during our stay. Local recommendations - Boo Koo's had fabulous burgers and milkshakes. Tehidy woods were great for walking. You could take dogs, but there were no bins so carrying full bags round was a bit annoying. A few miles down the road from Tehidy is a beautiful beach called Portreath with a couple of cafes and dogs are welcome on the beach most of the year (from memory July to August they can't be there) Penrose Woods was even better. We couldn't make it all the way around the lake but we'd take snacks next time and pace ourselves better. If you find yourselves in Porthleven, and you like indoor plants. See if Sapling & Bud are there...the nicest lady selling reasonably priced and varied succulents - she will make your day. We had the most amazing time, would highly recommend others to stay here and we've already started to look at availability for next year for a repeat visit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thorough and complimentary review which I'm sure will be helpful to other guests. It's also really good to know you were comfortable and had what you (and your dog!) needed during your stay. The fridge has been turned down so that should sort that so thanks for pointing that out. Hopefully you can return next year and explore more of what this beautiful area has to offer. Thank you again - your feedback is much appreciated! Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous week at Potters Barn."

It was spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. We loved the location in a quiet wooded valley, but close to Helston and Porthleven - car definitely needed to get around. We were sad to pack up and leave at the end of the week. Overall we plan to return as it is a lovely house and a great base for exploring the area.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Potters Barn. Hope to see you again next year. Property Owner
