Sea Breezes

Sea Breezes is a good base for visiting various sites in Cornwall and is handy for visiting Crantock beach and various other coastal footpaths on foot.

The accommodation was clean and tidy and it was easy to access the keys without worry. The bathroom is very small, with an adequate shower but only a cloakroom sized basin.

We had a very nice stay at Sea Breezes.

It was very well situated for the walk down to the beach and the local shop . The property was comfortable and appliances easy to use. We have never stayed in Crantock before , it is a lovely village and the views are amazing.

First class accommodation,clean bright and nicely furnished,good sized bedroom very clean and fresh.

Tom and Mary were excellent hosts

Great little holiday home, with an advantage of off street parking.

The place was clean and tidy with all of the comforts of home with a well equipped kitchen.

Plenty of storage in bedroom . Bed was comfortable but would of been much better if it had a bigger sized duvet .

Really disappointed with the property it was dark and felt damp as it was like a basement flat.

Towels provided but they had a damp smell. Bedroom was brighter. Wouldn’t stay here again

Perfectly adequate for our needs.

If I were to be picky, I'd say it would be nice to have a hairdryer and the foyer light needs repair as it flashes on and off through the night. Otherwise, a lovely cottage in a nice position for walks and pubs.

Property clean and comfortable outside space looks nothing like photos so photos need updating as very overgrown,apartment very dark and gloomy also feels cold and damp you can't tell from lounge what weather is like as so overgrown can't see sky it almost feels like a basement flat, bathroom tiny sink on small side husband couldn't shave easily bedroom lovely and light.

We enjoyed our stay but we wouldn't book again also we have a large car and the parking space is rather small which meant we had to keep reversing out onto a blind bend just little niggles really

Quiet/good location , however musty damp smell to the place . Sykes coukd have given me something much better as a token of apologies for the cock-up regarding the original booking which seems to have been forgotten . No dish washer , no washing machine . Not happy with this at all Sykes .

A well maintained, clean apartment simply and effectively decorated.

It may be beneficial to update photos of the bedroom now it has an additional window as it did provide the bedroom with more natural light. As other visitors have stated it does lack natural light in the living area however a strategically positioned large mirror would reflect light which would help. It was a lovely bolt hole for a week - the furniture really comfortable, linen all very clean and fresh and a really nice touch of wine/biscuits made us feel welcomed.

We had a wonderful 5 days despite some iffy weather.

I couldn't fault the accommodation: everything we needed and more. We would not hesitate to book a holiday with Sykes Cottages again.

Sounds petty because the property was great but a mat for the shower (anti-slip) would have been good and maybe a spare pillow for the bed

The property was clean and well decorated.

It would have been better of the extractor fan in the bathroom turned off when the light was turned off as the extractor fan run continually. The property was central to the bus stop for Newquay and Truro. We enjoyed our stay.

The apartment was nice and well equipped.

The location was good for the beach and the Pubs. A hairdryer would have been helpful. It was rather dark and cold in the apartment.

We paid £787 for 3 nights and expected more for our money.

The shower room was tiny, the sink was too small for my husband to shave in. The extractor fan ran continually which was very noisy and disrupted our sleep. There was visible mould on the walls in the shower room. The room obviously needs an outside window. The bedroom was dark and depressing and we spent as little time in it as possible. The window in the bedroom opened into the entrance porch and was not an outside window (this was not accurately described in the property details), we were therefore unable to get any fresh air into the bedroom. The bedroom had visible mould growing on the walls and smelt of mildew. the owners were trying to address the problem by placing a dehumidifier in the bedroom which we were asked to keep on at all times apart from at night. The lounge/kitchen was a good size and well stocked, however the kitchen cupboards all smelt of mildew. The whole property was very clean and in a great location. We are frequent travellers and have stayed in many holiday cottages and certainly feel short changed on this one. This is the first time we have ever given negative feedback. We feel a partial refund is appropriate. We felt we paid far too much at £787 for 3 nights.

nothing wrong with appartment just a few niggles no clock in room and no place for hanging tea towlels could do with some hooks but lack of daylight entering room was my issue could do with some pruning of trees and other folage to let in more light into rooms yours pete

The property was nicely decorated but lacked natural light especially the bedroom.

You could not tell if it was day or night in the bedroom. All rooms needed lights on whatever time of day. Due lack of natural light & ventilation the property was damp. All our clothes felt damp, the bedding felt damp. When trying to dry towels & lycra swimwear in the garden, they were still damp after 2 days of warm & sunny weather. We like to self cater, but as the property was so depressing we either ate out or picnicked to avoid returning to the property. The photographs of the outside were very inaccurate & out of date. The property we stayed in was not pictured & was at the side in what seemed to be a separate building with a plastic corrugated roof adjoining the main property in the photograph which made the bedroom even darker.

Clean and everything we needed!

Very comfortable and good location.

However, the outside space not as big as it seems in brochure. We had a week of sun and light evenings but as the flat was boxed in it was not suitable to sit outside which was disappointing.

Sea breezes was a lovely apartment and I could not fault it in any way.

It has all amenities and spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay again and thankyou for the wine and chocolate

The apartment was lovely,the wine and biscuits were a nice touch.

It was handy for the village shops and pubs and the beach and parking was a bonus. The only negative was the outside space which was nothing like the pictures and was very overgrown and uninviting.

Great location and everything there you would expect.

Bathroom is only like a small en-suite and so sink very small not much room - would present difficulty with a couple who were heavier/ taller.

Very nice apartment.

Well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice comfy bed and a great shower. Lovely small courtyard with a couple of chairs ideal for catching the morning sun with a cup of coffee. Many thanks to the owners Tom and Mary for the lovely bottle of wine, chocolate and biscuits. The only downside for us staying here was the limited allocated parking space. It was quite tight and difficult to manoeuvre on/off the drive. Apart from this we had a lovely two week stay here and were ideally situated within the village to walk to the pubs, restaurants, shop and the beach. There’s also a great bus service operating from the village with a bus stop very near to the property.

A lovely apartment.

Spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Ideal for a winter break. Wine/chocolates/tea/coffee and sugar supplied. The owners texted us when we arrived to say if we had a problem to contact them. Much appreciated.

Very comfortable and well equipped even down to a sewing kit. Was a little disappointed with the outdoor space which overgrown and untidy.. such a small space should be easy to maintain.

We had a fantastic week at sea breezes!

The apartment was lovely and contained everything we needed, not to mention the super comfy bed! We was welcomed with a hamper of wine & chocolates which was a lovely surprise. The apartment itself is about a 5 minute walk from the shop, 10 minute walk from the local pub The Old Albion Inn which served gorgeous food and a 15 minute walk to Crantock beach. We will definitely recommend and hopefully will be back again soon !

This cottage is perfect, the outside seating area is pure tranquility especially in the morning listening to the birds.

The kitchen and lounge area is spacious and extremely welcoming, clean and tidy. On arrival there was a welcome gift of Red Wine and speciality chocolates. The kitchen area was clean and even had tea, coffee etc provided for which we didn’t expect. Tom and Mary had sent us a welcoming text and a contact number if we needed anything at all. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away and is absolutely stunning especially at sunset, I would advise to walk down rather than driving down as the car parks get full very quickly. The local pub The Albion Arms are very friendly, recently they have changed to ordering via the App system which failed on the first night and left people waiting for over an hour, hopefully they have it sorted now. Overall the apartment is in a good location and is perfect for couples to escape to the quite village of Crantock. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and I would 100% stay there again.

Sea Breezes is a compact well equipped ground floor apartment.

It is in a good position in the attractive village of Crantock. Close to the beach, local shop, pub and cafe. We are keen walkers and a plus for us was its closeness to the South West Coastal Path. The owners had also left leaflets in the information pack on local walks which were appreciated.

Lovely property and great location had everything we wanted for a short break.

Owners contacted us by text to ensure everything was ok and also text to make sure we had arrived home safely. Nice touch of wine snd chocolate left for us.

Sea Breezes is like home from home, a Crantock gem !

. A very stylish cosy and well equipped property. The lovely outdoor area is an added pleasure. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The off road parking space is a bonus as there is no parking on the road. A few minutes walk away is the village shop which is well stocked and serves fresh pasties. The local pub, The Albion Inn is also a few minutes walk away. The pub has an extensive menu, welcomes dogs and children and serves excellent food. Tom & Mary the owners keep in touch by text messages to ensure that you are well and all your needs have been catered for. We recommend this property and would stay again in the future.

Very clean and comfortable; the treats were lovely.

The accommodation was a lovely, small compact apartment, with everything you could need.

We felt at home straight away. The sofa was comfortable, and we enjoyed the fact that ‘our’ local was in walking distance. Would recommend.

LOVELY PLACE BUT WE DID HAVE NOISEY NEIGHBOURS UP-STARS

A few instant coffee sachets does not make up for no coffee machine or cafetière.

At that price one would certainly expect one or the other

Pleasantly surprised to find wine and chocolates waiting, along with a few "essentials".

The weather stayed good for us and we had a most enjoyable time based on the property in Crantock. The owners (when we saw them) were very friendly and were quick to help out when there was some difficulty with the oven. We certainly would consider coming again. Two observations: 1) We found the duvet a bit hot (winter style rather than summer?): a separate sheet might have helped. 2) We felt that the bathroom basin is slightly on the small side,

Sea Breezes is a well located property in Crantock which has a beautiful beach, there are a few places to eat and the food is really good.

It is only a 10 minute drive into Newquay with it's lovely beaches including of course Fistral Bay.

I felt the cottage needed a hoover as the carpet was difficult to keep clean with a dustpan and brush, the en-suite was a bit too small toilet too close to wash basin difficult to use for tall or large person.

Kitchen cupboards smelt of damp and cottage was cold internal wall behind settee was quite damp to touch.. Flat was lacked natural light as garden had lots of tall trees. the outside space was only big enough for one person was not in the right place for the sun due to the trees, there is enough room for this to be altered. There were some nice touches of a bottle of wine and chocolates and loads of tea coffee sachets. Over all slight improvements needed and it would be a very nice stay.

Everything was very clean and all necessary facilities were in place.

Extra care had been taken to provide everything you could need including some small extras which were very welcome, i.e. wine and chocolates on arrival.

Exceptionally clean throughout and very warm welcome.

Everything provided for a good holiday. Bus stops to and from Newquay and Truro within 10/20 yards - very convenient and good service.especially when using bus pass. Local Crantock shop just 5 minutes walk. Would certainly stay again when in Crantock. Small but only difficulty was to get wifi you had to go into the bedroom, otherwise it dropped out. This property was just as described and in a great location for exploring both the village and surrounding areas of Cornwall.

The property was very clean and tidy and had everything you needed for a home away from home. The owners of this place were only a text or call away and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, but at the same time the property felt very private and quiet. On arrival we were even surprised with a bottle of wine and chocolates which was a very special touch by the owners. The village is small but has everything you could need and the beach is a 20 minute walk away! We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great holiday even though the weather was wet wild and windy we did get patches of sunshine.

A short walk took us to a beautiful beach. We had fantastic coastal walks. The owners of the cottage were extremely nice and friendly and so we're the villagers. We will go there again.
