  • "Our stay at the lodge was fantastic."

The house was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The only thing that could improve the stay even more would be having fans, especially on warmer days. Other than that everything was perfect and I highly recommend it.

  • "A beautiful lodge with really lovely spick and span facilities!"

The site is vlearly being developed but this did not disturb us in the slightest, and Nathan could not have been more helpful. We were a two couple party so I wish I'd mentioned this beforehand so the two single beds could be pushed together (in the second bedroom) before we arrived (and a mirror in that room would have been really helpful too)! This felt like a really high end accommodation (with some lovely 'welcome' touches too) ...we would certainly return in the future!

  • "Fantastic convenient location with easy access to explore the whole of Cornwall."

Spacious accommodation, we had 4 adults & didn't feel we were on top of each other at all. Welcome gifts & milk, coffee, soap etc was very welcomed. Only issue we couldn't find a hair dryer (went & bought one) The table outside was a waste of space as unable to sit & eat or play cards as the heater in the centre took up all the room, however it had no gas so we couldn't even toast smores. The work on the new lodges didn't impact us, although perhaps a belt to keep up his shorts may be an idea!!!! Will definitely be booking again

  • "Lovely accommodation, very clean and a step-up from many others we have stayed in of this style with ensuite bathroom, king size bed, walk-in wardrobe, dishwasher, larger beds (suit teenagers) and fantastic hot tub."

Great location for exploring both the north and the south coast. If you have teenagers and/or are keen cyclists, I would recommend hiring bikes and spending the day cycling the coast to coast trail (old mine tram tracks from Portreath to Devoran) which is on the doorstep. Scenery is stunning and my boys loved it! Body boarding in Porthtowan and Perranporth is a must too. Would have given 5 stars but owner is busy working hard, finishing building other lodges surrounding this one so a little bit of building work happening in front of lodge (was not noisy though), otherwise view over mining valley is quite pretty.

Local pub Fox and Hounds had an excellent choice of food which we enjoyed most of the week.

  • "Amazing lodge, we were welcomed with flowers, chocolate and a bottle of bubbly upon arrival and was able to check in 2 hours earlier than planned, lovely owners, we were about 30mins from st ives which is no biggy at all or us as we loved driving through cornwall."

there was a local shop just around the corner which came in handy, we had such an amazing stay, cant wait to come back. The bed was super comfy and the walk in wardrobe was a massive plus. the owners really had thought of everything, its the little things that matter. couldnt recommend this park enough.

  • "In the words of my wife, the property is “absolutely gorgeous”."

It was spacious, well laid out and clean and tidy. The site owners were friendly and welcoming. The Fox and Hounds at Comford is a good place to eat as is the Star Inn.

  • "The property itself was excellent, everything brand new and high quality and all the facilities we could want."

It was a lovely place to come back to after our day trips. The site manager was also very friendly. It's setting wasn't the nicest though, with the adjacent plot a building site and looking over some tired static caravans. The glass fencing around the balcony didn't help with this either, so being in the hot-tub it didn't feel like we had much privacy. Having said that, overall it was a brilliant base, with its central location making a very practical starting point for visiting the sites of both the north and south coasts of cornwall.

About the location

ST DAY

Porthtowan 5 miles; Portreath 6 miles; Truro 7 miles; St Ives 20 miles; Falmouth 10 miles.

St Day was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese takeaway, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 7 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
