  • "Wonderful location combined with excellent accommodation."

Everything you needed for an excellent relaxing break. The accommodation is well appointed, has everything you need with a layout, space and views to cherish. Five minutes walk down to the beach and coastal path. Yes, its a few miles for the food shopping, so we had a delivery to start our week off. We would definitely return, but location of EV chargers in relation to property need consideration and planning. Thankyou, truly memorable

  • "Dovefield met all our expectations."

We are regular visitors to Flushing Cove but hadn’t found the right place for our multigenerational family. The property has space to allow us all to comfortably enjoy a week together; 3 big bathrooms and working laundry room plus open plan living/dining area. Views from top bedroom are exquisite! Already booked for next year!

  • "As a family, we loved Dovefields."

The house and views are amazing. It is well off the beaten track, takes about 30 mins to drive from Helston despite only being about 11 miles… due to the small twisting single track road but this should be considered a bonus really as there is almost no other holiday makers on the beaches of Flushing Cove and neighbouring cove of Gillan. Even in height of the holiday season, there was only 2 other families so you basically get the beach to yourself! Absolutely perfect for learning to use our new paddle boards. Very sheltered cove so no waves to catch but mirror smooth water so ideal for us and our little ones. Highly recommend kayaking or SUP for this stretch of the coast. The cliffs, coves and caves are amazing and with crystal clear water, A joy to see. Good snorkel territory too. I imagine the fishing is good here too, every evening foot long fish jumping out of the water as I paddle board between the moored boats, its teeming with life to be sure with large crabs, lobsters, hundreds of fish, jelly fish, all easily viewable for my SUP just 10-15m from the shore. We can’t wait to return, highly recommend and our all time fav location…. And we have been visiting Cornwall for years (we have family there). You will love it.

  • "If you have a bad back, think twice."

Mattresses felt very tired unless you weigh 8 stone. There is an incident book & someone had left a message from June about a broken cheese grater. It still hasn’t been replaced but hey it’s only a cheese grater right? The hob had a mind of its own and only one frying pan in a 4 bedroom home was inconvenient to say the least. Lovely location though and very spacious. The two bedrooms on the lower ground smelt of damp. Plenty of hot water and heat if needed which was a bonus.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are sorry that you did not find the mattress comfortable, as you will appreciate mattresses are subjective and so may not suit everyone or match what they have in their own homes. A new cheese grater and frying pan has been ordered. We are glad that you enjoyed the space and the location. Property Owner

  • "It is a stunning location, ideal for those wanting to just totally relax or explore Cornwall."

Yes, it is tucked down some quiet lanes, but it is Cornwall and so peaceful and offers fabulous sea views, which makes the drive worth it. We will 100% be visiting again with the family and would recommend those wanting a relaxing break, this is the place. You can easily get out and about with some lovely coastal walks on your doorstep and takes you five minutes to walk to some lovely coves/bays. The accommodation was perfect for family, with plenty of space in bedrooms, bathrooms/showers, and a balcony with views to die for. Thank you

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Dovefields."

The property has home-from-home comforts and is set in a quiet, secluded location. We live on a single track lane in the Cotswolds so are used to meeting oncoming vehicles and reversing but this could be rather off-putting and stressful to anyone who doesn't like driving down long and extremely narrow country lanes. This said the property you eventually arrive at is definitely worth the effort. The only thing I would change would be to remove all the blue stick-on butterflies from the glass panels around the master bedroom terrace - they just obscure the lovely view and made the area look very scruffy.

  • "Superb cottage in a wonderful position."

Lovely walks from the house. Down windy lanes, which works for you, in that it is quiet but not near many amenities. So we were blissfully unaware of traffic jams in Helston, Truro and the coast road to Penzance. Lots of great places to sit outside and enjoy sun and birdsong. We couldn't find and oven glove which could have come in handy. We would certainly go there again! Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

  • "Lovely house in a lovely location, enjoyed a walk down to flushing cove and plenty of room for the 5 of us, we knew the location was remote when booking however this is definitely something to take into consideration as it is about 30 minutes of single track roads."

Could do with non-slip mats in bath/showers.

Thank you, we are glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your feedback. All showers and the bath are now fitted with non-slip. Property Owner

  • "The house is beautiful."

Really well equipped and we had absolutely everything we needed. The house is a little way out of town along some country lanes, but we didn’t mind the location as it was so quiet. Starry skies and waves lapping, with a view over the water - a lovely place for a family get together.

  • "House was all it promised."

We all had a wonderful holiday.. Having used holiday cottages for many years this was the best. That fact is reflected in the hire price but it was worth the extra cost. The only drawback was the local one lane road access. Drivers renting this property should be adept in reversing a vehicle. On one occasion we met a tractor and a bus!

  • "We had a wonderful time staying there."

Lovely walk to the beach area and in a very quite location. Facilities are great and we loved the decking area. It had everything we needed. Plenty of space. As a few people have mentioned, there are a number of single track roads so a trip of 6 miles takes a bit longer than normal but fine as long as you are patient and give way. Recommend a tesco / asda delivery on arrival! Nice village shop in Helston had lots of items if you forget something. Also, recommend the kayaks / paddle boards just over the river.

  • "Extremely well equipped and comfortable."

Great location once you are used to the narrow lanes . Stunning views. Easy walk to the nearest cove, even with little ones. Safe for the kids indoors, stair gates etc and outside upper seating area secure. However wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids due to the sloping garden and lower decking area so won’t return until ours are older. Welcoming atmosphere. Late check in and early departure times made it feel like a day was lost.

The only sounds are waves & wildlife. The propery was immaculately clean and had everything we needed including comfy beds for a great holiday. There are about 30 mins (drive) of single track roads to get to and from the property but this ensured the peace & tranquility there.

  • "We had a great holiday as a family of 8, including 3 children."

The location and the nearby coves were great. We hired a rowing boat and canoe from St Anthony Sailaway, which was also great. However, we paid a significant amount for the house and some of the facilities were not up to standard; part of the frustration with this, is they are all easy to fix. The majority of visitors are making similar comments to this in the visitors' book. This is just no good enough and you really need to get this property up to standard. 1. The fridge freezer is nowhere near big enough for a house sleeping 8 people - just get a bigger one and a separate freezer downstairs. 2. It sleeps 8 and there are only 6 tumblers! 3. No beer glasses 4. No childrens cups, plates and kfs. A property sleeping 8 will almost always be taken by families!! 5. One window in the middle bedroom has no curtain!! 6. The bath towels are too small. 7. As this is a beach holiday cottage, it needs an outdoor tap in the paved area alongside the drive so sandy children and adults off the beach can wash down. 8. The outdoor hanging area next door to the drive is nowhere near big enough for 8 people's swimming stuff and wetsuits; and by this I mean the washline and the cover above it to keep the rain off the drying clothes. Add some hooks to hang wetsuit hangers from. You are welcome to publish this feedback - but I do understand if you don't ... just fix it!

Thank you for your feedback which we always welcome. We are installing an additional larder fridge as well as providing black out blinds and replacing missing glasses. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the location and nearby coves. Property Owner

  • "The house, Dovefields, is beautiful."

Plenty of space for eight people and lots of privacy due to the layout of the bedrooms .A five minute walk to Flushing cove. which is mainly shingle with a little sand in one corner. The sea is calm and warm due to being at the mouth of the creek. You can hire kayaks and paddleboards locally to be delivered to the beach. We managed to park five cars with ease. Very narrow lanes lead to the property, and there are no shops within walking distance. Only negative is that the fridge is rather small for fresh food for eight for a week.
