  • "Nice cottage well positioned to visit other areas of Cornwall."

We have visited several times and will very likely visit again

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at this cottage."

It’s very central and convenient for visiting other areas in Cornwall. The facilities are good and being in the centre of town is a big plus. We find the fresh white linens especially appealing.

  • "The cottage over all had everything you needed for a relaxing holiday, unfortunately for us the cottage one door down was under going work on the roof so lots of noise in the morning as well as scaffolding and dust, the shower door was a squeeze for a pregnant woman."

  • "We had a lovely visit to Cornwall."

This was our first holiday as a new family with our 16month old. Wadebridge was a great base to explore and we were blessed with good weather. There were so many fun activities and great places to take our son. We were very grateful that the high chair and travel cot were set up for our arrival making it easy to set up for bedtime after a long 7.5 hour drive. The cottage was lovely and cosy and felt safe with a toddler who Is into everything! The only negative points we experienced were that the cottage was frugal with basics such as only one roll of toilet roll, minimal hand wash, one bin bag, 2 dishwasher tablets. We had to purchase all these basics extra and with the price of the stay for a week I would have expected these to be included. Cleaniness wasn’t pristine. There was a half chewed dog chew on the floor that our son found and picked up (directly into his mouth as an inquisitive toddler) and the toilet bowl was impacted with toilet roll when we arrived. The master bedroom was very well decorated but the bed was very uncomfortable for us which was made worse due to the uneven floor in the bedroom thus the bed leaned to one side. We didn’t sleep well all week. We still enjoyed our stay but I wanted to leave this feedback to improve future stays.

Thank you for your feedback and we will take account of the issues raised. We are delighted that you had a good holiday in Cornwall. We do provide a starter pack of cleaning provisions but it is then up to guests to supply the necessary for the rest of their stay. As a Cornish cottage, Riversdale comes with the charms of an older property and there is a slight slope in the master bedroom. I am sorry that this caused a problem for you - it is not something that we can rectify and has not been an issue with previous guests. Property Owner

  • "The comfort rating is slightly less as my partner found the double mattress uncomfortable as he rolled to the middle."

  • "I will start with saying the cottage is absolutely beautiful, very well equipped and super comfy beds."

The location is excellent too. The downside for me was most of the plates, cutlery, glasses etc were very dirty and had to be washed before we could use them. Also a very dirty towel (not ours) was left in the master bedroom.

Thank you for your feedback.I am so sorry to hear you found dirty glasses, cutlery etc and the cleanliness was not up to our normal standard. We are taking this up with our housekeeping team to make sure it doesn't happen again. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Really clean, well equipped."

Parking not directly out side but was just up the road which we were more than happy with. Good location for accessing other places in Cornwall. Highly recommended.

  • "The double bed is very uncomfortable with a dip in the middle, this resulted in some uncomfortable nights sleep."

The cleanliness was not its usual standard, used socks found under the new settee and some areas of the bathroom not cleaned properly. It was a little disappointing this time as we have been to the property before.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We've discussed this with the owners who have asked us to share the following with you: "Please accept our sincere apologies for the fact that the cleaning was not up to our usual standard, we take this very seriously and have taken this matter up with our Housekeeper. We have also purchased a new mattress for the bed. We do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you to Riversdale Cottage in the future." Property Owner

  • "I appreciate the need for additional cleaning with the Covid guidelines."

We noticed that the cleaner arrived before 10 am on our check out day. Thus a 10 hour turnover window feels penal.

  • "Such a lovely cottage."

Great location, so near to town and yet tucked away. Lovely colours in the cottage, paintings and decor. The patio is a sun trap so when the builders aren't playing their music loud it's gorgeous! They were very friendly builders so I'm sure would turn music down for a bit if asked! Be warned on the saucepans... two of us burnt our hands on the handles.. not used to saucepans with handles that get hot, so maybe bring your own oven gloves and be more careful than we were! We had such a blissful week thank you Sykes!

  • "Cottage claims to sleep 5 but the downstairs was crowded with 4, the lounge is too small to fit in a coffee table."

Cottage was missing some basic accessories such as an oven glove or usable frying pan. And why leave 6 dishwasher tablets - all lined up nicely on a cloth - when guests will generally need 8? But clean and well situated for Wadebridge.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed Riversdale Cottage and the local area. The living room does provide seating space for six people, with a trunk rather than a coffee table - these images can be viewed on the website listing. Informative emails have been sent to all of our customers this summer, reminding guests to pack items (such as oven gloves) as these may have been removed temporarily in line with measures to combat Covid-19. A thick heat resistant tea towel is provided at this property just in case you have forgotten to pack your oven glove. As with all self-catering properties a starter amount of dishwasher tablets might be provided - though you'll need to gather your own provisions thereafter. Property Owner

  • "Handy comfortable cottage for centre of town With biscuits, tea and milk on arrival which was very nice."

TV not working at all which was a Big dissappintment. On arrival the fire alarm was going off and did not stop until owner sorted it out. We had to stay in a hotel overnight the first night which was very stressful after driving to Cornwall in a storm. Skyes gave us incorrect information about alternative accommodation which added to our stressful experience. Also house manager did not ring us back or solve the fire alarm problem.Luckily The owners stepped in to help solve this problem. Phone numbers for help via house manager incorrect also at the house.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Riversdale Cottage. We were very sorry to hear of your experience and are glad that the issue has been resolved. The owners take all their feedback very seriously and have informed us that the TV aerials in the area were knocked out due to a bad storm. They have had a new aerial fitted. The fire alarm has been fixed and all the smoke alarms in the property have been checked and fitted with new batteries. We are glad that you found the Cottage comfortable and well placed and that you enjoyed your welcome pack. We are pleased to hear that despite the points raised you enjoyed your stay at Riversdale Cottage and we hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from a family holiday over the christmas & new year break, what a week we had."

The cottage was wonderful, warm and cosy. There was plenty of room, clean, modern, great kitchen and cosy living areas. Location is a stone's throw from the shops, pubs, restaurants but you wouldn't think it was so close as it was so nice and quiet. Camel trail is a must, we walked from wadebridge to pastow on our first day and it was amazing. Thank you for a great stay, we will hopefully be back again, the Jacob's family
