  • "Excellent stay in this cottage."

It is quite remote and the acces road is narrow. The owner is very friendly and helpfull.

  • "We had an amazing week at Kestrel Corner, well equipped and spotlessly clean."

The air-conditioning also worked as a heater which was great as the weather was not behaving itself during our holiday. Unfortunately the water pressure in the bathroom is quite low which means the shower is very not very powerful, although this is understandable as the water in the cottage is not from a mains supply. The water is double filtered direct from a boar on site and I must say it is the first time I have enjoyed drinking water. This cottage is on a working farm and is one of a small complex of 4 converted barns, it is isolated but for us this was part of its charm vast open sky and rural views with absolutely no light pollution.

  • "Really lovely stay, although shower was mentioned as challenging it was not great when with children."

The only other issue was the DVD player did not work. Well equipped apart from pizza cutter, But these are small gripes, the location is so quiet and peaceful the cottage was so warm and cozy, location is perfect for Cornwall south or North. We will definitely book again as such a lovely stay overall.

  • "Great wardrobes but not one decent hanger."

the supplied hangers had obviously come from the rubbish bins in a supermarket. (one can purchase twenty wooden coathangers for £20.00 from Amazon). We had a two week stay and there was no offer to change the bedding during this time. We expected a change of sheets after a week. But there was no change, nor was it offered. It's a lovely quiet place, with great views.

  • "Lovely setting with all of the facilities you'd expect and need for a cornish staycation."

Great location with good access to main A roads for visiting all corners of Cornwall. Kids really enjoyed being surrounded by wildlife and the farm animals. Beautiful views as we ate outside some evenings. Bonus to have washing and drying facilities on site. Looking to book our next adventure here.

  • "A lovely cottage with fantastic views of the countryside."

The cottage itself was well set out and comfortable. Getting to and from the cottage is no mean feat and it would have been easy to get lost without the aid of the excellent instructions given by the cottage owners which enabled us to navigate ourselves there successfully on the first day.

  • "Better signage would be a improvement."

Took about an hour to find it. Found it in the end. I understand that being country lanes is difficult. But only saw the signs when I eventually turned around.

  • "Lovely relaxing stay, Kestrel corner was very spacious and had everything you would need, even better than the pictures."

Knowing the grandkids could go outside without us worrying about them was a bonus, and seeing the ponies each day made their holiday. Although the roads are tight to get to the cottage, the directions were spot on and everywhere was within easy commute (North or South beaches are roughly the same distance). I would also recommend the Lanivet Inn, the food and staff were great, we ended up going their 3 times during a weeks stay.

  • "The comprehensive directions that we received from the owners were excellent."

A good central location off the beaten track and a beautiful, peaceful place to return to, sitting out looking at the farm animals and abundant wildlife, after a day of exploring Cornwall. The cottage was well equipped and more spacious than expected. The owner was very nice and pleasant to talk to. Sorry we tried but can't think of any negatives, we had a wonderful week in a very pleasant cottage, can't wait to book again.

  • "This was so far out from everywhere you could not even have an evening stroll, the entrance to the cottage was a mile long on a very narrow lane with pot holes everywhere,, which did not do the car any good, The accommodation was clean but very dated, the beds were comfortable , but 1 bedroom was a very tight squeeze, as the foot of both beds were almost touching the cupboards , which made it almost impossible to get into them for your cloths, The television in the lounge area was so small myself with failing eyesight could not see it only listen to it."

. i dont think it was any bigger than 24 inch of which i took a picture of to show the family and they have not stopped laughing at it yet ,,

  • "It’s perfect for couples and with 360 degrees of breathtaking scenery it makes for a relaxing stay."

But saying that it’s still so easy to get to other parts of Cornwall. It’s slightly dated and I think my laptop is bigger than the tv but who cares it’s a a holiday cottage. The facilities included laundry room and recycling facilities were a nice surprise too if you need them. Definitely would go back as soon as I can.

  • "Kestrel Corner is a clean and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location."

I have never stayed anywhere that is so quiet. No traffic noise and very little bird song to wake you in the morning. It was useful to have access to a washing machine and a dryer? However,, there are some negative things that future customers need to be aware of. The roads to the cottage are extremely narrow. Approximately the last two miles are single track with very few passing places and the last section has lots of big potholes. Although the cottage is clean, it is very damp. Every cupboard smells damp. All our clothes felt damp after the first two days. The third issue is the lack of water pressure - especially from the hot tap. Filling a bowl to wash the dishes took ages. The shower is not fit for purpose.

  • "Could be hard to find but directions update by Kevin (Manager) helped."

It is on a working farm, so very rural but wild life a pleasure to watch. Cottage was really nice. WiFi adequate for email and messages but not for streaming but plenty to see and do anyway. Water was fine (bore hole) but shower very slow. Other than that, a very enjoyable holiday. The people we met were very friendly and those we needed to contact, very helpful. Thanks for a lovely, albeit wet, holiday. So much to do in Cornwall and its all on your doorstep.

Booking fees are expensive over the top from Sykes Kestrel corner is fabulous little cottage a little dated but very comfortable Facilities and heating are really good The only little thing that lets it down is bathroom and shower Adding a inline pump or separate shower is an easy fix to increase water pressure to shower head I will return when I am required to work in the area again

  • "Very nice, clean cottage."

Well equipped, comfy and very peaceful. It is in the middle of nowhere and at night there is no noise, no light pollution and sleep comes easy. However, if you don't like narrow (and I mean narrow) country lanes, then drive clear of this cottage. The only pain really is the Wi-Fi. What reception and speed I could receive was very poor (0.09 megs). I would recommend this cottage, if you don't mind narrow lanes and don't need Wi-Fi, this could be just right for you. Very nice friendly people made us feel welcome.
