  • "Comfortable and clean house."

    Well equipped kitchen. Another chair needed in the lounge area. Outside space needed attention - weeding and cleaning. Spa room closed and barbecue unusable. Lovely walk down to Goran Haven, disappointing that the shop had closed but beach cafe was great. Next door campsite bar and takeaway really good. Leaking bath was fixed quickly and efficiently.

  • "The dishwasher door had a faulty connection and olly worked if you jammed one the handle of a chair under the handle and anchored the leg of the chair by a table leg."

    When one things goes wrong other little things niggle. For instance there were 2 clocks, neither worked - presumably batteries needed, no instruction leaflets for oven etc. We never did find a use for a second remote control. 5 eggcups for 6 guests. I could go on but our impression was that this could be 5 star but needs much tlc. The owner told us that the enterprise was up for sale and this is probably the explanation.

  • "A beautiful cottage, lots of space and everything you need for a comfortable stay."

    Well equipped kitchen, lovely bathrooms and bedrooms, nice areas to sit outside. The views are spectacular when you venture out. Gorran Haven is within short walking distance but very steep walk back. It is a pretty village - small beach, great fish and chips, including gluten free. Just wish we had brought our dog, she would have loved it too, great walking. Definitely recommend.

  • "Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay ."

    The location was perfect with a short walk down to Gorran Haven. Having the campsite in close proximity allowed for decent food and drinks without going too far. The addition of dog blankets for the sofas and having access to laundry facilities again was a thoughtful touch. Our only tiny thought was as gates are open to car parks and garden it isn’t enclosed at all times to let your four legged friends out without supervision. However this did not detract from our stay and we loved every minute . (Well apart from the competitive games of monopoly) We would definitely recommend it to family and friends and perhaps come again with them as the cottages together would be great for family reunions or gatherings with like minded friends . Thank you

  • "Squirrels Dray is a lovely "home from home" cottage among a small group of cottages set around a lovely courtyard."

    The surroundings are quiet and out of the way, but only a short drive to Gorran Haven. The cottage has many extra features, such as BBQ's in the garden, lovely showers, comfortable beds and well-appointed kitchen. I would thoroughly recommend this property. If I have one tiny suggestion to make, it would be that the fridge is small for a 6 berth property. However, there is a massive freezer. Sandra, the owner, was very helpful and pleasant.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay!"

    ! Sandra couldn’t do enough for us, she was lovely. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The Spa was brilliant. Beds very comfortable. Perfect location just a short walk to the beach. Bar and restaurant within walking distance. Would defo recommend and will go there again!

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.
