  • "Lovely bungalow with a wonderful view and a good position to cut down to the beach and close proximity to the shops."

    Very comfortable beds. Sofa not very comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped with everything we needed. Unfortunately door from lounge onto steps to garden locked due to safety. Access to garden via side door from kitchen but no level area to put chairs.

  • "This is a decent, no-frills bungalow with a fantastic view of the beach."

    As others have mentioned it's crazy that there is no key to back door and garden terrace and don't attempt to park on 45 degree drive if you value your car's tyres when trying to reverse out. You have to bring your own sheets and towels or you can rent them separately (a link is sent post booking). Polzeath is walkable if you can manage the hill back up.

  • "Firstly positives."

    The bungalow was large, light airy and spacious. The main window in the lounge had superb views of the bay which we enjoyed. there were books, DVds and local information available. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Furniture comfortable in lounge and bedrooms. Short walk to beautiful beach, shops and restaurants. Everyone we met in Polzeath was helpful and friendly. Negatives. The bungalow was not very clean on arrival and we found no sign of a vacumn cleaner, iron or hairdryer all of which would have been helpful. We could not get the main oven to work at all during our stay but managed fine with small oven and microwave but this would have been a challenge for a bigger family. The garden needed furniture and access was tricky.. For us the biggest problem was access as i have a mobility issue. this bungalow is in no way suitable for a person with disability and should have this info on its webpage. The walk down the drive is very steep and as i use a wheeled rollator was positively dangerous without assistance. We could not safely park the car on the drive overnight due to slippage and parked on the grass verge.

  • "Great location and lovely property."

    Everything you need for a great stay. Only suggestion would be make the patio accessible so you can sit out in the evening enjoying the view and sun. Also make step down the very steep driveway. Inaccessible to those who may struggle to walk etc. older generation.

  • "Overall a lovely stay, a few things could be done to improve future guests stays."

    No garden furniture whatsoever, meant we couldn’t use the garden like we’d want to for sitting out to dinner etc Only one set of front door keys, 2 sets would make life easier when the group splits up Back door can’t be locked from the inside Windows could be cleaned on the outside on changeover day so the spectacular view can be fully appreciated on arrival - they were really dirty and so my husband went round and cleaned them Beds are so creaky it’s impossible to turn over without waking yourself and others up in the room The view is second to none on this property and I don’t think you’ll find better at this price anywhere in Polzeath. It is basic but it does have all you need - well equipped kitchen and lounge furniture is comfier than it looks in the photos! Clean and tidy on arrival. There is a sign on the garden wall about parking fines for non residents - John Bray weren’t particularly helpful in knowing if a holiday tenant counts as a resident. We parked on the road and put a piece of paper in our cars explaining who we were. We didn’t get a fine (luck?) but it would be useful for John Bray to do some homework on this and include it in the listing for future guests especially as it’s advertised as having “ample” parking. The garage can be used if you have a small car, the driveway can be used for anything smaller than an xc60 (Volvo) but is on a very steep incline which is why we chose to park on the road. Overall we would stay at this property again (4 adults & 2 kids)

  • "We enjoyed our stay and the house is light and airy."

    We felt the furnishings are a bit tired and dated. The kitchen is well equipped and newer. The location is great with an amazing view of the beach. It is very convenient for the beach and the shops. More could be made of the garden and there was no table to use outside. The drive is very steep and not really suitable to use. There was blood on some of the cushions on the sofa.

The property

A smart, detached bungalow positioned in the village of Polzeath, North Cornwall. This well-presented property provides excellent accommodation for families of keen surfers. The fresh, light kitchen provides the ideal space for creating family meals with views looking out across the coast.

An inviting spacious sitting room with a comfortable dining area, superb sea views offering a welcoming place to sit and relax after a day on the water. Three great ground floor bedrooms, a double, twin and bunk bedroom sharing a practical family bathroom with a separate WC. A drying room is ideal for drying out your wetsuits ready to hit the surf again and again, with the added space of the garage perfect for you to store surfboards and beach necessities. Outside there is a well-kept lawn area a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink while watching the ever-rolling Atlantic sea. Polzeath is a popular seaside resort for surfers, beach lovers and walkers.

With an abundance of cafes, restaurants and shops. Known for its calm clear waters is Daymer Bay a mile away, perfect for building sandcastles, a spot of swimming or exploring the rock pools. For an exhilarating day on the water a 2.5 mile drive to the hub of watersports is Rock with Camel Ski School and Rock Sailing club offering a variety of water based activities. Whether you are after a fast-paced watersports break or a tranquil retreat exploring the coastal paths, Zapadiah is ideal for family and friends.

POLZEATH

Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
