Outstanding as always!

,, we had to contact Helga a couple of times with a couple of questions, she responded promptly and phoned back to check everything ok, there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival, so thanks to Helga and the team for everything, can’t wait to be back!

The Barn is an ideal place to just get away and relax, it has amazing sea views and is situated with coastal path walks on your door step and also close to the Lizard and Kynance Cove.

There is a dog friendly pub right on your doorstep and it also serves good food, The Barn has a secure garden for dog owners, the place is clean and has everything you need for that well deserved break, you never want to leave the place. We absolutely love it and return year after year

We have stayed here many times. Lovely view and great location. Little touches of a welcome pack and card from the owner and all the cleaning stuff really helps. Really comfy bed. Always a fabulous holiday

Love the views and position of the property that’s just perfect .

However the heating was in need of upgrade and some of facilities abit tired now.

The Barn was a fabulous place,loved the location.

the view was just so hypnotic,good idea putting the living room upstairs. The accommodation was lovely..enjoyed eating outside when the weather allowed,the pub being 100yds aways ,that was just perfect lol..Gunwalloe itself,well what a beautiful village,very friendly people..the coastal walks were amazing,never walked with my dog so much . wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anybody,the 2 weeks just went so quick ,everything about the barn was explained so clearly in the folder,thank you Helga,for all your help..hope to be back very soon .

I’ve stayed here many times over the years & everytime I go there are new improvements made fantastic place & already booked up again for next year.

We return year after year to The Barn it is our little piece of heaven.

The sea views are amazing, a very dog friendly pub close by, coastal path walks on your doorstep. The garden is enclosed for your dog and big enough if you have children. Take note the Barn is very old and and prone to dampness which the owners deal with in the small twin bedroom on the lower floor but not everyone would want their children to sleep in it and negative comments have been said about it, but if your a couple it wouldn’t be an issue as the main bedroom is fine. We are looking forward to returning next year as it is our home for the time we are there and would love to own it!

It was our first time at the barn and it certainly wouldn’t be the last!

Perfect from start to finish, a slight niggle was a bit of damp in downstairs bedroom which the owners have gone to great lengths to cure,,, and with a bit of care from the guests regarding keeping the room aired not really a problem Views fantastic with lots of walks and a nice pub nearby what more could you want?

As always a wonderful comfortable stay at the Barn everything is well maintained and spotlessly clean thankyou

A very comfortable, well equipped home in a gorgeous location.

Everything well explained and easy. Lounge furniture really comfortable with amazing views. Spacious. Great for a dog with a safe, fully enclosed garden. Brilliant welcoming pub 50 yards away with excellent food. Easy access to the property, on the level, easy to unpack car. Recommend without hesitation, we will be back.

The view from the living room is beautiful.

However, the living room on the first floor and kitchen on the ground floor didn't work for us. This was the first time we had stayed in a pet friendly property and it will be our last. Despite the best efforts of the housekeeper the presence of the previous weeks dog was evident throughout the property.

We had a wonderful stay, all the comfort and necessities you need, and the cherry on top is the sea view from the elevated living room!

Well positioned to access all the Coves and offerings of The Lizard and beyond. Sainsbury's within a couple of miles, Halzephron Pub is a stones throw. You can walk to the beach below within 5 mins, but not safe for swimming. Nearby Church Cove/Dollar Cove are though. Spacious lawn to kick the football and play games. Easy parking. My, wife, son and dog did not want to leave. A true gem!

Lovely property, very welcoming clean and comfortable, home from home only with a better view at the barn.

A dishwasher would be a nice addition and a downstairs toilet. Maybe a change of towels after 3/4 days unless they were coloured. The bed was so comfortable and we slept very well. However, the welcome, facilities, location and views are exceptional. The garden was large and private, just right for eating, relaxing and the dog.

We love coming to the Barn year after year it’s like home from home, everything you need for a relaxing holiday looking at the spectacular view and the wildlife that comes into the garden.

The walks nearby are and added bonus plus the friendly pub who owner alway remembers you Helga is a wonderful host and always checks everything is alright and is available when needed. It is obvious why the Barn is so popular a great place

We’ve stayed at the Barn many times & have loved it every time!

We’ve already booked up for next year. The only thing that it’s lacking is a slightly larger freezer rather than an ice box in the fridge, as I like to buy fresh fish & produce to take home with me, otherwise absolutely perfect!!

On entering The Barn, my wife could smell that it had been cleaned well.

This set her in a good frame of mind, knowing that such care had been taken to prepare the property for the next guests. (We have had bad experiences in the past - not with Sykes though!) The Barn is a delightful holiday cottage - the living room being on the first floor gives an impressive view of the Cornish Coast and the sea. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to book the Barn again for another Cornwall trip in the future.

We could not fault the cleanliness, or the coziness and comfort at The Barn….

it was always warm and inviting after wild and windy beach walks. Only one complaint that I can think of was the small fridge…. this could do with being bigger for a family stay.

A wonderful stay to relax and regroup which it allowed for in plenty.

A lovely Christmassy welcome of mince pies and cream was waiting together with fresh flowers on the kitchen table. Great walks from the barn and the fantastic pub 50 yards (sorry - 48 metres) away was perfect.

We had a wonderful week at the Barn in November.

The house was spotless, warm and comfortable, the kitchen was large and well equipped and the view from the sitting room window was absolutely stunning. We sat watching the changing weather over the sea for hours. Helga was on hand by phone if we needed anything and made us feel most welcome. The pub was very dog (and human) friendly and served delicious food. Gunwalloe is so peaceful and we look forward to returning.

The storage heater in the lounge didn’t appear to be working correctly and the fan heater in bathroom went on and just turned off .

Would have liked to see couple of teabags and milk left for arrival after long journey rather than a pack of biscuits nice but needed a cuppa more . Other than that we loved it . Thank you

Very nice two weeks at The Barn.

Our second holiday here. Love the new bed, sofa TV and Wifi ! The kitchen is bright and well equipped and the upstairs living room has a large window with a fantastic view out to sea which we never tired of looking at. Gunwalloe is quiet and peaceful hamlet with only a pub serving great food, no other shops. The owner is helpful and responsive should you have any queries.

The Barn was everything we could want, it was very pleasant to live in,clean and comfortable with every facility we could want.

It is in a lovely location with great views from the windows and good walks to Mullion or Porthleven, ideal for our dog. It is probably the best cottage we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot.

We have been coming to the Barn for several years now so it is like “coming home” when we arrive we relax the minute we see that fantastic view of the sea.

The facilities are everything you need for your stay and the owners make everything as comfortable as possible. It is situated with fantastic coastal walks on the doorstep, very dog friendly with a safe secure garden which is well maintained. We will hopefully continue to come back every year.

We loved staying at the barn.

The view was amazing, we saw dolphins and seals from the window. Cosy and quiet, dog friendly with the fishing cove a 2 min walk away. Local pub is also fantastic. We will be back! Thanks

Third visit to the Barn so knew exactly what to expect.

Out of season, quiet andva perfect week away to unwind. The view from upstairs is superb and lucky to witness some lovely sunsets. No issues whatsoever and garden just right for our Border Collie. Will certainly return if price out of season remains reasonable. Halzephron Inn just down the road is welcoming and very dog friendly.

We had an amazing week staying at The Barn, the location is perfect, with views out over the sea, and lovely beach a few minutes walk away.

Although we had reservations about the storage heating, the Barn was cozy all week. Addition of Wi-Fi was also a welcome bonus. Would highly recommend.

The Barn is a fantastic cottage.

The views from the patio and especially upstairs make it tempting not to leave to go anywhere, but there are lovely cliff walks directly from the cottage in both direction and many others within easy reach. No complaints about the facilities, these are excellent and they even provided maps and a daysack and buckets and spades etc for the beach.

It is an amazing setting and an amazing place to stay.

Incredible views and exceedingly well equipped.

Lots of little touches including cream team and flowers on arrival. Wide selection of books, games and DVDs for when the weather was not so good. Rucksack for walking was a thoughtful and unexpected inclusion as were the bbq and outdoor games in the garage. Location must be one of the best on the Lizard. TV could possibly do with updating and kingsize bed would be a positive addition.

The property is lovely and has been improved significantly over the last few years.

We have stayed here many times both in summer and winter and always enjoy the views and location. Maybe time for a new bed in the main bedroom and some new pillows. Highly recommend The barn.

Lovely place to stay with well kitted out kitchen and beautiful views from patio and from living room.

Linen and towels provided were good quality. The welcome tray of a Cornish cream tea was very nice. We did find the lack of sufficient hot water for a full bath in the evening rather frustrating and old fashioned as we’re used to as much hot water as we want whenever we need it at home. We also found the bed rather small as we’re used to king size, but this might not bother other people. The lounge was very comfy and the huge window with chairs provided views of the coast, the sunsets, swooping birds, ships moored out to sea and the helicopters from the local base practising - great entertainment!

We have stayed at The Barn for the last three years so that proves how much we love going there and so dog friendly.

Only one comment the sofa has seen better days and it is uncomfortable to sit on especially one side, I do think now that the weekly rent is now very high that the furniture should be upgraded to match the cost people are having to pay. I will always continue to book the Barn as we know the area so well.

Pub with excellent across the road. Lots of lovely walks from the Barn and don't need to use the car.

Love staying at the Barn and out of season it is quiet and peaceful.

Nice garden for our dog and beach is only five minutes walk. Great pub on your doorstep and what isn't there to like!

The Barn is very comfortable and in a magnificent position making the most of the upstairs sitting room with fantastic views across fields to the sea and within a few minutes walk to the lovely beach.

It is a good central location for visiting the Lizard and surrounding area.

The location of the property was exactly what we look for in terms of views and easy access to pub

This cottage is extremely clean, tidy and homely and there is a pub serving food just across the road.

The sea views from the living room are amazing. The Barn deserves more than a 3 star listing as apart from not having WiFi, which we were aware of, it’s perfect in every way. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Wifi would be good but plenty of things are provided for hirers comfort and convenience.
