  • "A dishwasher would be good to have."

Plus blinds are needed in the house particularly in the upstairs bathroom and rear of the house as you are overlooked from the elevated house at the rear and the front where the building work is taking place (and apartments in the future). Storage Was an issue for bags and suitcases as well.

Lovely welcome pack of tea and biscuits had been left for us too which was a lovely touch. Great enclosed private garden, room to park on the drive and most amenities within a 5-10 min drive. Fantastic property and will definitely be back!

  • "When we arrived, the house was immaculately clean and tidy."

The proximity to the beach made it a fantastic holiday house for both coastal walks and using Harlan Beach. There was extensive building work in front of the house which was a bit of a shame. The outside warm shower and storage boxes were a great bonus and garden was enclosed so good for pets. The sleeping arrangements are more suited for 4 adults and 2 smaller children, as third bedroom is tiny, has no storage and the bunks better for smaller guests than our teens.

  • "Great place to stay!"

The beach is a 2 minute walk. House itself was lovely and clean. It has everything you could possibly need. I’ve stayed at a few holiday homes but this was by far the best. The quality of the furniture and even the bedding was at a very high standard. Hopefully we can stay again next year if it’s not fully booked!

The lounge comfortable and roomy. Facilities upstairs and downstairs - great shower. The back garden is an absolute sun trap and so well kitted out with superb garden furniture and loads of cushions. Really relaxing. Location so close to the beach was a dream for us with our springer spaniel. Takeaways easy to organise - brilliant Indian one recommended. Great relaxing holiday and sunshine enjoyed by us.

  • "The cottage was perfect, Well presented, clean and comfortable."

Only a stones throw from Harlyn Bay which is the best beach in the area. A perfect base to explore North Cornwall. We took our two dogs who were comfortable and enjoyed the cosy back garden. The outdoor shower and hose meant that we could quickly clean up after the beach. With sand free dogs we were able to relax and quickly allow them back in the house when dry. The only feedback we could think of is that ceiling fans in the bedrooms would have made the hot nights more comfortable. However this would not stop us from recommending this property and from booking it again next year.

  • "The house was lovely."

comfortable and well provided. It is the midst of beautiful coastal scenery and the beach and coastal path are within a 2 minute walk. We were a bit disappointed with the location in that we weren't aware it was at the back of a car park with no views from the house. Also we were not told that The Harlyn Inn is now closed and is being redeveloped which we would have liked a heads up about as we had had planned to eat there on arrival but instead had to go and do a shop. All of that said it is still a great location once you get out and about as we did.

Literally a short stroll to the beach and access to fantastic coastal walks in both directions. Thanks to Caroline the cottage is immaculately presented and has all the amenities that you could need. Caroline even popped round to see us to check that all was OK for us - a nice touch. Everywhere is dog friendly which made our stay even better. We can highly recommend The Cornish Arms for its friendly atmosphere and great food. The Harlyn Inn, just across the car park from the cottage, is also a good place for a well-earned drink after a long walk! Padstow is just a short drive away and is a delight. We also popped over to Rock on the ferry which was also very nice. We’ve certainly enjoyed a fantastic stay and will certainly be returning next year!

Harlyn is a charming little village, with a large crescent shaped sandy beach, safe for swimming, surfing and dog friendly all year round. Harlyn Bay is considered to be one of the best family beaches in Cornwall with a north-facing shore, beckoning surfers to brave the white waves that surge towards golden sands. Connected to the South West Coastal Path and part of the 'Seven Bays for Seven Days' area this is also an ideal location for walkers to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside. Constantine Bay just two miles away offers golf at the Trevose Championship course. Nearby Padstow lies at the head of the Camel Trail along the Camel Estuary and local cycle hire shops enable visitors to enjoy the area easily. Padstow is a delightful fishing port offering ample opportunity to taste locally sourced produce, as well as the award-winning Camel Valley wines, in celebrity owned establishments. Local fisherman's boats offer coastal tours and sea fishing trips, while a passenger ferry takes you across the estuary to Rock with the windsurfing beach of Daymer Bay and golf at the famous St Enedoc course. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls there are several stately homes and gardens to visit as well as special events at the Cornish County Showground.
