Tynk

Our main misgiving was a distinct doggy smell in the property.

We were aware that pets were allowed but it was worse than we thought it might be. Unless you have a dog I wouldn't recommend it.

Thoughtful touches throughout; Great welcome email with top local tips and the location of the property was superb, just 200m up the bank from the dog-friendly beach and all the action at the young and very hip Harlyn Inn.

Property was welcoming and well cleaned with good signed free parking and a doggy wash outside. Very handy and thoughtful welcome pack with teatowel, shortbread and treats which Dougal the dog loved.

4th visit no problems warm (as we could alter the heating to our requirements) comfortable all that we needed

Under the sink needs a check and action, otherwise it was a lovely property, comfortable, heating was responsive and easy to alter (and turn down).

Position just up from Harlyn Beach was good though would take a torch if you are going to pub after dark. We love the area and hope to be back soon.

A well appointed and clean holiday cottage in what I consider the best coastal area in Cornwall.

Great walks and many superb beaches very close by.

Tynk offered us everything we needed and wanted for our stay.

The location is perfect near to a beautiful beach and the coastal path

Its was our second time at Tynk, love the proximity to the beach, the Pig, Padstow etc, love it.

Tynk is a very nice cottage and the owner, who we have met, a super host.

The cottage is pet friendly as are a number of the other (Poldark Beach) cottages so if you are a dog owner you will feel very much at home. The common parts around the cottage complex are well maintained and Harlyn Bay beach is a very short, five minute, walk down the road

The property was light, warm and comfortable but needed a bit of TLC .

Two of the kitchen chairs were very unstable, bordering dangerous as screws were falling out . One bulb out on extractor fan above hob in kitchen. Only 3 egg cups for a family of 4. Bath tap converter to shower so stiff unable to use.Smeary mirror in bathroom and so many cobwebs and dust around which showed up in the sunshine . All basic housekeeping errors. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing time in Tynk for 4 nights in February sunshine.

The house is perfect for a family of 4 with young children. Fiona was brilliant at communicating with us and sorted out a slight issue we had on arrival promptly. Barry The maintenance man is also brilliant & went over & above. The house is in a fabulous location just minutes downhill from Harlyn beach and great walks around Trevose head from the door to Mother Ivy's Bay, Booby's Bay g Constantine Bay en route. We had an excellent meal at Rick Stein's pub the Cornish Arms (normal pub prices). There is lots to do in the area, Padstow is nearby and Newquay in the other direction. Highly recommend Tynk.

Lovely home from home.

Very well equipped and lovely comfortable king size bed. Only a short walk to the beach, where there’s a cafe that’s open all year round. The owner contacted us to make sure all was ok. Welcome pack was a nice touch. We will be back

We really enjoyed our stay.

We really appreciated the hamper on arrival and the lovely thought of the dog treats. The house was clean and tidy and really cosy. Thank you. We would definitely use Skyes again.

Warm comfortable plenty of room and everything that you could need. Fiona was very helpful when it came to parking arrangements

Home from home cottage good location for beach .

Excellent location for beach.

Very well presented cottage. All the kitchen equipment etc you need. Very comfortable beds and living area.

We've stayed at Tynk many times now and would return many times more.

The cottage is great for us and our dog, walkable to the beach, and a short drive to a shop, bakery etc. Thank you again for another lovely stay.

This was our 3rd stay at Tynk.

It was as is usual very comfortable and had everything we needed. We love being so close to the fantastic beach and coast path! We will be back..

Tynk is a lovely property - a real home from home with evrrything we needed at our fingertips.

We always feel comfortable and at home and the welcome pack is a really nice touch. Location is great for Harlyn and coastal path walks. St Merryn is close by for any essentials with a shop, bakers, vets, chip shop etc. Looking forward to returning and have booked already!

We chose Tynk because it was very near my daughter & family (4 young children.

We attended my nephew’s wedding & as it was a very long way so we stayed for the week. The property was ideal, clean & tidy & provided everything we needed. Thank you. May I suggest a baby gate as you say no dogs upstairs. Luckily ours understand - but I know a lot who would not!! We had a wonderful time on Harlyn beach - ideal for little children

Rather than a welcome pack with things I don't want please could a decent set of cleaning materials be provided - e.

g. surface cleaner, brillo pads and "Cif"?

Property very clean, bed most comfortable ever slept in.

Sadly though it was like living in Battersea Dogs Home! Dogs barking all around us and in particular in the property next door, two small dogs yapped incessantly from morning till night, making our stay intolerable. What a shame, we will not be back. Diane

This is my second time at Tynk and both myself and the dog love it.

The location is great and close to the beach and there is a very short drive to a shop, bakers, tea room and pub in St Merryn. The cottage is lovely and spacious and the welcome pack is a really nice touch. We will be back! Many thanks for making us feel so comfortable.

It would have been nice to be told of all the building work going on in the other cottages facing the one we stayed in.

The sun loungers were dirty with mold and bird dropping along with the benches and picknick table outside our property. the windows were dirty and could do with a good clean. the position of the property was very good being close to the beach and coastal path.

Great location so close to the coastal paths and pretty coves. Tynk is so thoughtfully equipped for comfort and ease on holiday. Thanks for making our holiday so enjoyable we would love to come back.

it would have been better if we had a later checkout time rather than 9AM as we left Sunday afternoon rather than monday morning as we did not want the early rush .

We had a lovely stay at Tynk, only a short walk to the beach.

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The only thing that could be improved would be an upgrade on the shower. We would love to return!

It was the second time we stayed at Tynk this year which is a lovely family and dog friendly property that is very clean and tidy.

It is in a great location being only 2 minutes walk from Harlyn beach, an all year round beautiful dog friendly beach that has life guards, surf school and great toilets. We have booked Tynk again for next summer and can’t wait

Tynk is part of a very nice complex of linked cottages, extremely convenient for the beach.

The cottage itself was very clean, reasonably, but not overly, furnished & equipped. It was o.k. for two of us but I wouldn't recommend it for 4 adults. It might be o.k. for a family with 2 young children however. The main bedroom would have been better with taller hanging space & a dressing table/desk rather than the sofa that was there. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable and the room pleasant. The second bedroom had only the two single beds, one chair & one set of drawers. However, downstairs was a bit basic as was the kitchen equipment. I wouldn't have liked to have had to spend much time there if the weather had been bad. Fortunately we didn't have to and only had to have breakfast there. Our biggest bugbear downstairs was the lighting. The main overhead light in the sitting area was harsh and there was only one small lamp to use otherwise. The worst was in the kitchen as it wasn't bright enough. It was difficult to read the numbers on the hob it was so inadequate, even with the hob over light on. There was no other light for the cooking area. It is a shame as downstairs is quite spacious and could have been made a lot more comfortable, even in these trying times

What a charming holiday cottage set in a lovely location for dog walking, hiking or just general outdoor activities.

Accommodation was beautifully clean inside and out and very well equipped for a relaxing stay. Beaches are wonderful in this area and everywhere was so dog friendly.

The only heating provided in the house was a tiny electric radiator and a fan heater fire place.

There was no heating provided at all for the upstairs of the cottage so it was cold upstairs and by the end of the week we were using cold damp towels. The frustrating thing was the house has radiators in every room but the central heating is turned off and the controls are locked away so it can't be turned on. There needs to be some form of heating supplied in the bedrooms and bathroom. It was a very strange welcome basket -all it contained was a packet of dog biscuits and a handful of dishwasher tablets. The house is in a good location, its nice and easy to nip to Padstow and its very handy having a parking space. The beach nearby is lovely.

What a beautiful cottage!

The rooms are immaculately clean, surprisingly spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. Board games were a nice touch. The stunning beaches of Harlyn Bay are just outside the door and there are great places to eat well within walking distance. The area is perfect if you are looking to escape the usual hectic pace of life without being too far from civilisation. The shops and restaurants in Padstow are lovely and don’t miss the ferry to Rock. We loved both the cottage and the area. Will definitely be back. Thank you!
