10 Customer Reviews

  • "We have visited twice before so knew what to expect and were not disappointed."

Our only issue was with the wifi. It dropped out each day a few hours after being fixed by the very good support team. Speeds are slow and the only way some of our party were able to work as planned was by using hotspot on their phones - fortunately 4G speed was sufficient.

Thank you for your comments, sorry to hear you had trouble with the Wifi during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with beautiful views, a lovely terrace and in a good position with a nice path down to the beach."

Nice hot shower. Internet very bad, don’t try to work from home from here. Communication about the house very bad. The website says bath towels are not included, something I’ve never had before. So I rang to check. The agents said they are indeed not included. Very annoying because I had to pack loads of bath towels into a packed car. Arrived at the house and bath towels are included! Agent said cleaning included but large note in house says leave £30 cash for cleaning!

Firstly thank you for your nice comments. To answer your various points of concern we can say that a new Wi-Fi router was fitted in July this year and it has not been satisfactory however a new FTTP system is to be installed next week which will give Sunset super fast Broadband. The towel situation was a mistake by Brays as we always supply made up beds and bath towels. Re cleaning we do ask guests to pay £30 if they require a full clean but not if the house is left in the same state as when they arrive. The note is not very clear so we will alter it when we are at Sunset again We look forward to you coming back to Sunset. Charles and Ann Maconie Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful week in Sunset."

The house is very well appointed with everything we needed and plenty of cutlery and crockery which is not always the case. The utility area and outside shower enabled us to keep the main house clean and dry. We loved the spacious garden and patio for outside dining and barbecues. Our only slightly adverse observation was a bit of a musty smell in the lounge.

Thank you for your kind comments, We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed Sunset. We will look into the smell you reported. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners Property Owner

  • "The property was excellent, great location, great facilities."

Just one negative comment - the hot water was extremely hot and could be a serious problem with young children.

Thank you for your comments, the hot water issue has been reported to our maintenance team. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed staying at Sunset."

The house is well positioned with a large secluded area to sit outside. It also has a separate sunbathing area with 6 good quality sun loungers which was a bonus. There was also a large BBQ in the shed! There is a track to the right of the house which leads to Polzeath town and beach. It’s not for the elderly but it’s also not that difficult. You will find a few surfers park outside the house to walk down to save them paying car park fees. But there is plenty of parking along the road. Amenities were excellent with lots of cupboard space for hanging clothes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be booking again. The only downside was the poor Wi-Fi

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Sunset. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This was a return visit to this lovely, well appointed house."

Kitchen is spacious, with plenty of utensils to cook for a family of 5 and the views from the breakfast bar are fabulous. Watching the sunset from here, whist eating dinner was amazing. The main bedroom is very spacious and the bathrooms were all very clean. The garden is large with plenty of places to sit and nice sheltered spaces if its a bit windy and the warm outside shower is really useful for cleaning down wetsuits. The track which leads from the garden down to the beach means you don't have to pay to take the car to the beach every day; it's a bit steep for carrying a surfboard back though!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased you enjoyed your return visit to Sunset and that the property worked out so well for your family. • "The property was tired and in need of a full refurbishment, the smell of old people and urine was constant throughout the property."

we were on holiday with a group of friends who stayed the other side of the bay in fantastic new property which was much better value. The walk to the beach along side the property is dangerous because of the construction works leaving large ruts in the path, the other way down the road is equally as dangerous because of the speed the cars travel and no pavement. Also the garden is not dog proof as our dog escaped the first time he was let out!

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your visit. • "Everything was lovely."

We had a great holiday. Just a slight smell of damp, or bad drains in the main bedroom.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect chance to relax and unwind. Regarding the smell. As a result of your comments, we have gone in and investigated. We have since replaced the carpet and eradicated the smell, so we thank you for bringing that to our attention. • "Sunset has a lovely view of the sea from most rooms."

. Good sized bedrooms. Short, steep walk to the beach and central Polzeath via a track next door which was great and took 5 minutes. Mature, sloping garden and very useful sunny terrace area with a good table and patio chair set and a sun lounger area too. Nice, bright kitchen with excellent doors to patio. The shed for hanging wetsuits was handy. Useful utility area and loved the outside hot shower! Main improvement - could do with much more fridge space for a house of that size. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Thank you for a lovely holiday home.

  • "The house was very well appointed in a fantastic position, great garden with nice outside table to eat at, loved the sun bed area!"

Will definitely be booking again! Housekeeping note - One of the kitchen bins hadn’t been emptied before our arrival, which was a bit disgusting to deal with as lots of someone’s else’s recycling, none of which had been washed! A welcome book (rather than just a info notice board) and a visitors book would be nice personal touches
