  • "A wonderful holiday house which we have enjoyed staying in for many years and hope to do so again next year and in the future."

  • "We all had a fabulous week despite the wet and stormy weather."

The layout of the house was ideal for a multigenerational group and was very well equipped. A particular favourite was the warm outdoor shower and wet room which was appreciated by all the surfers in our group. Would love to return

Thank you so much for your comments. We love hearing just how much you enjoyed your stay! Hopefully we can welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "The property was wonderful and we loved our stay there."

The house was clean, comfortable and the facilities were excellent. We absolutely loved the wet room and outdoor warm shower which made coming back from surfing a pleasure. The views and proximity to the beach are spectacular and we will definitely be looking at the White House for our annual trips to Polzeath. The only minor niggle is that the hob is an electric one and so cooking is not as straightforward and easy as using a modern induction hob. Some of the kitchen ware, utensils and frying pans are also a little worn but I appreciate how difficult it must be to keep them in good order in a house with constantly changing guests.

Thank you for taking the time to give such great feedback, we are really pleased you enjoyed this wonderful property so much, especially those views. We're sorry for any inconvenience with using the ceramic hob but thank you for highlighting some wear and tear with some of the kitchen utensils. We hope you choose to book with John Bray Cornish Holidays again as we would love to welcome you back to Cornwall in the very near future. Property Owner

  • "The White House is an amazing property!"

I really recommend it. This was our third time with the whole family and hope to be back next year. It’s in a fantastic location …. Just walk down the path at the bottom of the garden, down the steps to the beach and shops. The view from the house is stunning. You can keep an eye on the surf from the comfort of the house! It is extremely well equipped and has an assortment of toys for the children! The kitchen has everything you need and the bedrooms are super comfy and 4 of them with fantastic views. From a logistical point of view regarding our family we would like a double bed and perhaps a single too instead of the 2 bunks in one of the rooms. But this is the only drawback.

Thank you for your your fantastic feedback ! We are so pleased to hear you had such a great time, especially as returning guests. We appreciate your suggestion regards the bedroom configuration and shall pass this on to the owner. We look forward to welcoming you back to Cornwall in the very near future. The house is well equipped , perfectly positioned and easy to live in. We feel sad that next year is already booked and that we no longer get first refusal as in previous years with John Bray.

  • "WE stayed at this house last year."

However, the standards had slipped a little in the intervening 12 months. The cutlery was dirty. The oven was really dirty. Only two slots of the four slot toaster were working (i.e. the toaster was broken). This was rather challenging with 7 people at breakfast time! The dishwasher may need replacing as the cycle took a long time. There were cobwebs in the bedrooms, round the lampshades and curtain rails. It obviously had not been thoroughly cleaned for a while. The touch sensitive light above the sinks in the main bathroom was not working. Some instructions would have been useful for the oven/microwave. This house is in a fantastic location but the premium price we paid should have ensured slightly better standards.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. We're very sorry that you had to experience these issues during your visit we will report all cleaning issues back to the cleaner of the property. Any broken items that are reported to John Bray Cornish Holidays are aimed to be fixed or replaced as soon as they can be and I hope that this was the case with the toaster. Due to covid restraints all instruction booklets had to be removed form the properties but we are in the process of reinstating them back. We hope to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "As ever we had a fantastic holiday in The White House, New Polzeath."

When the house was refurbished a few years ago, the owners put in a sunken outdoor table by the BBQ area. Sheltered by the glass screens this was the perfect spot for lunch every day despite the strong winds that we experienced this year. That addition to the facilities of the house was an inspiration and really useful! Thank you.

  • "We've been staying at the White House for quite a few years."

We loved it before the transformation, but now it is even better - a fantastic house with stupendous views, lovely garden and proximity to the beach - that can accommodate our whole family in comfort. It's a really well equipped house too - the kitchen has everything you need for cooking (once you've mastered the ovens! - personally, I miss the old Aga), and plenty of space to prepare food for a big family with widely ranging requirements ranging from bottles and mush for babes in arms, endless bacon butties for hungry surfers, supper for 12 - sometimes these activities are all happening at once! And it's a very comfortable house - lovely big squashy sofas and plenty of room for small children to play with Duplo or make big jigsaws all over the floor. And we absolutely adore the barbecue area. A couple of years ago I wrote in the visitors' book that I thought the cleaners had let the side down a bit. This is no longer the case - the house was spick and span with a lovely clean fridge and sparkling bathrooms. So thank you for listening to that comment. And when something did go wrong - as with the lack of hot water - it was very speedily remedied following a call to your emergency number. Please pass our thanks on to the owners for providing such a lovely house. And thank you too to the John Bray team .

With direct access to the cliff path from the end of the private garden, with lawn, a covered terrace and a secluded barbecue area, The White House offers the perfect base for catching the glorious sunsets.

Every thought has been put in to making the internal accommodation as welcoming as possible, and sea views from almost every room makes this a perfect holiday property for friends and families alike.

With a contemporary, open-plan living space, utility, a shower room, and five bedrooms, four of which benefit from en-suites, there’s plenty of space to accommodate twelve guests.

The walk from the gate to Pentire Point and the Rumps (and back!) is one of the most fantastic in the whole of North Cornwall, whilst Polzeath beach offers a wide sandy beach strewn with rock pools, a must-visit on dry days.

For surfers, you are ideally positioned to get straight into the waves, and when returning to the house, there is the facility to wash off your wet suit with the external shower, before coming into the wet room; nearby surf schools offer lessons and equipment hire for all ages and abilities.

Just a short walk along the coast path takes you to the shops for your morning papers or for an ice cream and coffee in one of Polzeath's many cafes, whilst fantastic restaurants are also within walking distance.

A couple of miles away are the beaches of Daymer Bay, renowned for its sheltered azure waters, and Rock, that offers sailing and watersports galore.

At Rock you can catch the ferry over to Padstow to explore the bustling harbour, whilst in the other direction are Port Isaac, Port Gaverne and Port Quin.

These picturesque areas give visitors enough to occupy themselves for weeks, whether you play golf, love walking, enjoy watersports (swimming, kayaking, coasteering, spearfishing etc.) or just want to spend some quality time watching the world go by.
